[opensuse-factory] When can we expect systemd with the fast boot up again?
Hello List Mates, Remember the earlier release of systemd with the fast boot up when tested in openSUSE 11.4. Well now it takes 5 minutes to boot up. When can we see the performance shown in the earlier release? Cheers! This is a conflict between Network Startup Script and systemd. Change NM_ONLINE_TIMEOUT in /etc/sysconfig/network/config to 0 and you should be all set. Of course a final solution is pending. I tried that in Milestone 3 and could not see any improvement. It just sat at the login prompt. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

That issue I see currently too. I have to login as root and then systemctl start NetworkManager.service systemctl start xdm.service The issue being that those two services do not wait for dbus to be started apparently. Thanks Dominique to sharing that. Seems that's happen here too and could explain lots of my trouble. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

As this seems to be a more prominant bug than I first thought, I filed it as https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=712300 Let's hope a solution can be found soon. I have a bug that olike a bit like this: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=712028 but doing what is said do give "NetworkManager.service failed to loas: no such file or directory (the NM works perfectly without systemd) xdm.service do not start , it says "active (exited), with a process number, but there is no X window open on the same subject, the systemd lines are difficult to type. Could it be possible to have rcnetwork have a switch that can issue such command in place of init one, be systemd be used? thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.youtube.com/user/jdddodinorg http://jdd.blip.tv/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I see now. I'll give it a try. I assume that a patch is being worked on the timeout and dbus. Thank you Roman -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
