Someone on the list send me a short not on how to eliminate the problem with autoconf not dealing with -exec-prefix. It seems it is not a SuSE problem. As I remember I added something to Makefile.am. [opensuse-factory] changes in virtualbox package

Hi all, stable virtualbox 4.0.0 will be soon in Factory (I hope:) so here are few announces: if you will do update from Milestone2,3,4, 5 or from Factory you have to remove virtualbox-ose-qt package and install virtualbox-qt by hand (sorry I really don't know how to trigger update in this case for virtualbox-ose-qt without adding auxiliar subpackage) - update from 11.3 to 11.4 will work fine Also I want to announce few (I think major) changes in our virtualbox package(sr#56739,56738): 1, dropped OSE postfix for vbox's main package and all subpackages - since 4.0.0 Oracle team doesn't build PUEL version so ose postfix is not needed - this means : virtualbox-ose will be deleted from Factory and new virtualbox package will appear - devel repo will change from Virtualization:virtualbox-ose to Virtualization:virtualbox 2, renamed xorg-x11-driver-virtualbox-ose subpackage to virtualbox-guest-x11 - this package doesn't contain only x11 drivers but also tools for propper x11 guest integration (same name for this stuff use also debian) 3, update to first 4.0.0 stable release 4,added "Provides: virtualbox-gui" line for virtualbox-qt subpackage and "Recommends: virtualbox-gui" line for virtualbox package (this is related to vboxgtk package - I will also create sr for this package soon ) Also I want to apologize to people who wants to have VBoxGuestAdditions.iso in our virtualbox package, I decide to NOT include it to our package for now (again), I think linux and windows binaries grabbed from outside of buildservice is not standard way how we do packaging in bs - also as I said many times user could still download iso using the gui menu. suggestions, comments, tips are welcome ! bye -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe(a)opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help(a)opensuse.org

114 M5 i586 via the NET CD Thanks to whom ever fixed the problem I was having with Amarok. As you will remember a work around was using strace. Now it is working with a git version without strace. The GIT version fixed the Wikipedia screen size problem. And the upgrade/install to python 3 from 2.7 fixed Blender. Installation from Live CD GNOME x86_84 identifies system as i686. uname -pm gives i686 i686 This makes trouble with package installation where software management is trying to replace whole system with i586. This is fixable; set arch=x86_64 in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf. VirtualBox guest additions, complain too and quit. How to fix this? Concerning Writer It is working OK but seems to be missing the end of line backwards "P" function on the menu line.. I may have missed it but have looked all over for it. [opensuse-factory] Eliminating the flicker during the boot up to desktop for 11.4?

Dear List mates, Will openSUSE 11.4 finally introduce a boot up process that will eliminate the flicker during the boot up to desktop? [opensuse-factory] Splitting up xfce4-panel-plugins

Hello, I would really like to split up xfce4-panel-plugins into separate packages, it currently contains 33 independently developed plugins which really have nothing in common except that they are panel plugins. Due to the transition from Xfce 4.6 to 4.8 a lot of them need to be patched and it has become increasinly cumbersome to deal with. Rebuilding the whole package is a pain, the patches for a for plugin have to be rebased each time a plugin version changes, and per-subpackage customizations are difficult as well. Hence there are no good reasons to keep it that way except for the problem that 33 new packages would have to enter Factory and go through review.
