[opensuse-factory] First impression of openSUSE 11.0

Sorry if this is a duplicate post. Got message I was unscribed because of some program problem. I installed 11.0 on a Asus P4800D-E motherboard with 4GB memory, 2 - 320GB sata drives, 1 10K 120GB drive. I was surprised that the boot loaded the SIS sata drivers without a problem I have not been able to get 10.3 to load, it hangs loading the SATA-SIS driver. The installation went relative smooth. I had to reconfigure my ethernet card since I have two cards but one is not used. The installer configured the unused one as the internet default. Easy change. My Xerox Phaser 6120 printer installed after I loaded the Xerox supplied PPD. It worked fine. I have two problems right now. No Sound but I need to check the drives, YaST says they are not installed. (snd-emu10k1). Other is the update function. I go to YaST download community repository list, check the ones I want and accept, they do not download, just goes back to original screen. Kontact works fine with KDE supplied with DVD version, also updated kernel to rc8 and it appears OK. Will get back to testing later today and report what I find. Need to install latest Scribus, OpenOffice, Perl, Apache, PHP5 to test. Only other comment is being an older person I find the installer and YaSt screens with the Green backround and small black fonts difficult to read. Is there a way to changed backround or font color and also font size. [opensuse-factory] Alpha1 installer / step Software selection

Hello, Haven't seen it discussed yet on the list, and I just try to install my first Alpha1 (after having it on the other computer upgraded to Factory since 10.2). In the Software selection Dialog, I hope the selection: 'Open and modify documents from my mother' is meant as a joke for an alpha installer, right? Why: - It does not say anything of what it actually means (probably OpenOffice and the like). - If it's a young kid that wants to read the files of his mum, he most likely anyhow is the one that helps his mum, and the one with more knowledge. - If MUM is installing it, she will more likely worry to open files of her kids; at a certain age, mums just are no longer. I feel this sentence a little bit insulting during an installation. What are other people's opinion about this? [opensuse-factory] libbeagle 0.3.2 is missing in the Factory repo

Hi there! I've just updated Factory on my test partition and I saw that libbeagle-0.3.0 is missing, which is probably the reason why I can't install libbeagle-python-0.3.0-2.i586.rpm. I hope you'll fix that soon so we can play with the new Beagle! Cheers! -- Igor Jagec

[opensuse-factory] content.key file out-of-sync with content and content.asc

Hi I have been unable to install factory for over a week because of problems with the content.key file. I keep getting an error like: /var/cache/zypp/raw/openSUSE-FACTORY 11.0zir02Z/content.key doesn't contain public key data It appears that the 'content.key' file is not in sync with the 'content' and 'content.asc' files in inst-source. Should content.key be in sync with them, and if so is there any way to fix this 'by-hand' so that factory will be installable again? I tried two different mirrors, gwdg.de & mirrors.kernel.org. [opensuse-factory] update another partition possible?
