[opensuse-factory] Beta 2: no more suspend2ram since update from 29th August

Hi all, made a fresh install from the beta2-ISO at 25th August. Nearly everything went fine. Interesting in this case is that suspend to ram was working until last wednesday, when i made an update with smart. Only two repositories are listed in smart: factory and factory-non-oss. But since i made this update my notebook didnt wake up correctly after suspend to ram. Screen is staying blank, background light is switching on and after a short while there is no more harddisk activity, fan is turning up and thats it. The only way to get the notebook "back to live" is to switch it off the hard way with a long pressing at the powerbutton. Needless to say that there are many messages from fsck regarding the filesystem (clearing orphaned inodes and replaying journal), so it seems to be dangerous at this time to use suspend to ram. My machine is a toshiba A 100, Intel T2300, 2GB Ram, ATI X1600, 160 GB SATA Harddisk with ext3fs. Anybody else has the same problem? Where can i look for some logs regarding the suspend action? [opensuse-factory] broken grub after update from beta1

Hi, I updated a x86_64 machine from beta1 to beta3. After the packages were installed I found the machine in a reboot loop. The grub boot loader was not working any longer. So I tried Repair System. The automatic one obviously deleted Windows from menu.lst. Then it threw an error about not being able to access /dev/fd/62. A second try with this one left me with a single entry for linux (i.e. failsafe and xen were gone, too). So I tried the Expert option Repair Boot Loader. It recreated the default and failsafe entries in menu.lst, but was not able to create initrd. the script complained about not being able to access /dev/sda6 which is the root / partition of my system (xfs containing /boot, too). After that wreckage I decided to try a new installation of beta3. So I have no logs for the above problems. Has anybody similar behaviour? [opensuse-factory] Problems with zypper list-updates

Hello, Last week I decided to switch from smart to zypper when doing Factory updates. I found a issue I couldn't figure out yet, but before logging a bug report, can someone confirm that I'm not doing something wrong? As the Beta3 Live CDs were hardly useful, I decided to delay it till we have another build that works good enough, so here they are: http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/10.3-Beta3plus/iso/cd/ Please make sure you mention which live CD you used when you report a bug against them. Hi, in beta3 running OO.org installed from ooo-i18n team packages from http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680/OOG680_m5/Bui… I have following problem: I cannot open any file, although I can open new file but cannot save it, after pressing open button in file selection dialog or calling saving dialog I get following output: (process:31871): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: gtype.c:2242: initialization assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this function (process:31871): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed (process:31871): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_new: assertion `G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed This problem seems to be same as described in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=438870 This bugreport contains also more detailed information. Hey Group; I may being say goodbye to my old Hauppauge Model 401 pci buss TV/FM perfectly good card due to the FCC forcing HiDef down our throats. To that is there a good Linux PCI HiDef TV/FM card out there? As I remember at the first of 2009 this switch will take effect. The local FREE TV station will drop analog and go to the forced on the broadcaster and us HD TV. My guess is the US government is looking for fees, and taxes as income. Hi everyone, as some of you have already noticed, we have slightly changed the language support in openSUSE 10.3. To give you an update of what languages will be supported on which media set, here is a short summary. KDE / GNOME CD: The 1CD's is English-only, _BUT_ you can get all packages supporting your language from the online repositories! DVD (download): Supports English, Portuguese (Brazil and Main), French, Italian, Spanish, German, Chinese (Simpl. & Trad.), Japanese, Russian, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Finnish, Danish, Swedish and Dutch. Language Addon: Has all the languages that didn't fit on the DVD, ie. is only to be used with the DVD! DVD (retail): Will contain all languages available. So, how did we choose the languages for the DVD? We basically took Novell's Tier 1 and Tier 2 languages, excluding Korean, which we didn't want to ship with only 58% of the strings translated (stats from i18n.opensuse.org) Best, Christoph -- Christoph Thiel, Tech. Hi,there, I can not find the scim-qtimm for qt4 in the openSuse10.3 beta3, so I can not type Chinese using scim in any qt4 program,will 10.3 have scim-qtimm for qt4? Would you plan to add the package to 10.3?
