Before I start mucking about with things, I note that X.Org 7.2.0 supports autoconfiguration meaning that "in most cases"[1], the X server should be able to start without an xorg.conf file. Are the packages in Factory set up to do this and will using the nvidia driver break it? Has anyone found a usable version of "libiconv" that works with " gcc (GCC) 4.1.3 20070430 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux) ". It is not on the CDs.
