Confusing wording for network setup method

During installation, at network setup, there's the Use traditional method (Enable) and Use Network Manager (Enable) I find it terribly confusing with the "enable" thing. I always have to stop and think what does it mean and what will it do. I suggest a more specific link instead of just "enable". Like this: Now using traditional method (Enable Network Manager) and Now using Network Manager (Enable traditional method) Will add to bugzilla

NLD 10 presentation videos

Hi there, osnews.com has a news article on a presentation of the next Novell Linux Desktop with some videos which present the new features of the GNOME desktop used in NLD (http://www.linuxedge.org/?q=node/55) According to the current Novell Linux roadmap, Suse Linux 10.1 will be the basis for NLD 10 so the question is if we will see such features in one of the next Suse Linux versions too? 10.1 beta3 - a couple of initial observations

I'm installing to a machine with one IDE-drive with the following partitioning: /dev/hda1 - formatted for jfs, meant for /boot /dev/hda2 - swap /dev/hda3 - formatted for jfs, meant for / /dev/hda4 - exiting jfs for with existing /home The initial partioning proposal ignores /dev/hda1 and /dev/hda3, not unexpectedly, and proposes a setup that uses hda4 as an extended partition with hda5 and hda6. Firefox plugins: where are they now, in 10.1beta3?

Before 10.1 the firefox plugins were symlinks in the firefox/plugins directory. Now, in that directory (/usr/lib/firefox/plugins) there is only the null plugin. Yet, about:plugins shows flash, acrobat, java. How are they located now, in 10.1? I ask because I have a problem with not displaying PDFs from firefox in beta3. Can't Install SUSE 10.1_b3 on Vmware (host OS is SUSE 10.0)

Hello all I have tried to install SUSE 10.1 b3 three times under Vmware (VmwareWorkstation-5.5.1-19175) but the install process always gets stuck at the last second to last screen : “Hardware Configuration / Use the following configuration / Analyzing your system”. installation hangs after partition selection

I've been unable to install either beta 2 or beta 3 (on several machines) because the installer hangs after I select partitions. There have been no comments on the issue page, and I raised it to blocker/P2 after beta 3. Does this relate to other known issues? According to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=140935 reiser4 has been dropped for 10.1. Virtual beta testing

Suppose one has access to a computer resonably well endowed in the CPU and disk departments, running SUSE 10.0. By far most of the beta testing could be done inside something like vmware. However, vmware is out of rea$$ of the average home user. What are the options? Xen, qemu, seperate disk partition to install into, ...? Hi, I just had read reports on the brokenness of ncurses in SuSE Linux 9.3. Looking it up for 10.0, I found that the ncurses library is 5.4 while 5.5 seems current. I wanted to look it up for 10.1beta, but couldn't find how to find out the included versions from the opensuse.org website. Thomas E.
