Maybe the wrong list, sorry if so
Linux 5.3.18-150300.59.68-preempt [openSUSE Leap 15.3]
cifs-utils-6.9-150100.5.15.1.x86_64
As I rebooted with this combination, my CiFS mounts all failed with
"Unable to apply new capability set."
with or without options, so I could not pin it to a specific option
I then rebuilt cifs-utils from git.samba.org/cifs-utils.git
6.15 at 58ca03f183b375cb723097a
and all problems were gone.
I scanned the git log, but could not point to a specific commit that
addressed this issue

* Fix `authenticate_with_http_basic` to allow for missing password.
Before Rails 7.0 it was possible to handle basic authentication with only a username.
```ruby
authenticate_with_http_basic do |token, _|
ApiClient.authenticate(token)
end
```
This ability is restored.
* Jean Boussier*
* Fix `content_security_policy` returning invalid directives.
Directives such as `self`, `unsafe-eval` and few others were not
single quoted when the directive was the result of calling a lambda
returning an array.
```ruby
content_security_policy do |policy|
policy.frame_ancestors lambda { [:self, "https://example.com"] }
end
```
With this fix the policy generated from above will now be valid.

* Fix `skip_forgery_protection` to run without raising an error if forgery
protection has not been enabled / `verify_authenticity_token` is not a

* Brad Trick*
* Fix `ActionController::Live` to copy the IsolatedExecutionState in the ephemeral thread.
Since its inception `ActionController::Live` has been copying thread local variables

With the introduction of `IsolatedExecutionState` in 7.0, some of that global state was lost in
`ActionController::Live` controllers.
* Jean Boussier*

```ruby
get '/test' => "test#index", as: :test, trailing_slash: true
test_path() # => "/test/"
* Xavier Noria*
* Fixed MariaDB default function support.
Defaults would be written wrong in "db/schema.rb" and not work correctly
if using `db:schema:load`. Further more the function name would be
added as string content when saving new records.
* kaspernj*
* Fix `remove_foreign_key` with `:if_exists` option when foreign key actually exists.
* Remove `--no-comments` flag in structure dumps for PostgreSQL
This broke some apps that used custom schema comments. If you don't want
comments in your structure dump, you can use:
```ruby
ActiveRecord::Tasks::DatabaseTasks.structure_dump_flags = ['--no-comments']
```
* Alex Ghiculescu*
* Use the model name as a prefix when filtering encrypted attributes from logs.
For example, when encrypting `Person#name` it will add `person.name` as a filter
parameter, instead of just `name`. This prevents unintended filtering of parameters
with a matching name in other models.
Previously, both redirect mode and proxy mode streamed their
up leaking connections in the connection pool. But since redirect
mode doesn't actually send any data, it doesn't need to be
streamed.
* Use `controller_class_path` in `Rails::Generators::NamedBase#route_url`
The `route_url` method now returns the correct path when generating
a namespaced controller with a top-level model using `--model-name`.
Previously, when running this command:
``` sh
bin/rails generate scaffold_controller Admin/Post --model-name Post
```
the comments above the controller action would look like:
``` ruby
[#] GET /posts
def index
@posts = Post.all
end
```
afterwards, they now look like this:
``` ruby
[#] GET /admin/posts
def index
@posts = Post.all
end
```
Fixes #44662.
==== rubygem-regexp_parser ====
Version update (2.3.1 -> 2.4.0)
- updated to version 2.4.0
[#]## Fixed
- fixed interpretation of `+` and `?` after interval quantifiers (`{n,n}`)
- they used to be treated as reluctant or possessive mode indicators
- however, Ruby does not support these modes for interval quantifiers
- they are now treated as chained quantifiers instead, as Ruby does it
- c.f. [#3](https://github.com/ammar/regexp_parser/issues/3)
- fixed `Expression::Base#nesting_level` for some tree rewrite cases
- e.g. the alternatives in `/a|[b]/` had an inconsistent nesting_level
- fixed `Scanner` accepting invalid posix classes, e.g. `[[:foo:]]`
- they raise a `SyntaxError` when used in a Regexp, so could only be passed as String
- they now raise a `Regexp::Scanner::ValidationError` in the `Scanner`
[#]## Added
- added `Expression::Base#==` for (deep) comparison of expressions
- added `Expression::Base#parts`
- returns the text elements and subexpressions of an expression
- e.g. `parse(/(a)/)[0].parts # => ["(", #<Literal @text="a"...>, ")"]`
- added `Expression::Base#te` (a.k.a. token end index)
- `Expression::Subexpression` always had `#te`, only terminal nodes lacked it so far
- made some `Expression::Base` methods available on `Quantifier` instances, too
- `#type`, `#type?`, `#is?`, `#one_of?`, `#options`, `#terminal?`
- `#base_length`, `#full_length`, `#starts_at`, `#te`, `#ts`, `#offset`
- `#conditional_level`, `#level`, `#nesting_level` , `#set_level`
- this allows a more unified handling with `Expression::Base` instances
- allowed `Quantifier#initialize` to take a token and options Hash like other nodes
- added a deprecation warning for initializing Quantifiers with 4+ arguments:
Calling `Expression::Base#quantify` or `Quantifier.new` with 4+ arguments
is deprecated.
It will no longer be supported in regexp_parser v3.0.0.
Please pass a Regexp::Token instead, e.g. replace `type, text, min, max, mode`
with `::Regexp::Token.new(:quantifier, type, text)`. min, max, and mode
will be derived automatically.
This is consistent with how Expression::Base instances are created.
As you all know, the YaST team is lately involved in many projects not
limited to YaST itself.
So it's time to take a look to how things are moving on:
- Recent changes for YaST (just in time for Leap 15.4)
- Containerizing YaST to make it useful in container-based environments
like openSUSE Micro.
- Evolution of D-Installer
Check the whole report at
https://yast.opensuse.org/blog/2022-05-17/yast-report-2022-4
Cheers.
Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
This week you ‘only’ had to update your machine 5 times – for the
snapshots 0505, which was for some reason not announced, 0506, 0507,
0509, and 0510 (the last one fresh off the press). 0508 would have been
ok, but QA was slightly slower than OBS and so the new snapshot moved
to QA before the old one was completely tested. Oops. Anyway, nothing
was lost, all good things from that snapshot are still shipped, just a
day later.
So, what did those 5 snapshots bring you? The most interesting changes
include:
* Mesa 22.0.3
* Mozilla Firefox 100.0
* KDE Plasma 5.24.5
* Meson 0.62
* gpg 2.3.6: Up to five times faster verification of detached
signatures
* Linux kernel 5.17.5
* gnome-shell & mutter 42.1 (late arrivals to the GNOME 42.1 update)
* Poppler 22.05.0
* Virtualbox 6.1.34
* GCC 12.1 – with snapshot 0510, gcc12 has become the distro default
compiler. All packages have been attempted to be rebuilt. This also
means that the recently enabled FullRelRo support (-z now) is enabled
across the board. There are currently about 370 build failures reported
in openSUSE:Factory (non-ring packages)
* systemd 250.5
This makes for quite an impressive list in just one week. Granted, a
few of those things had been in staging areas for a while (days to
weeks).
And as you’re already used to, this is no reason to stop. Au contraire:
the stagings are already filled again with the following presents:
* KDE Gear 22.04.1
* Attempting to build the distro using FORTIFY_SOURCE=3 instead of
FORTIFY_SOURCE=2
* Linux kernel 5.17.7
* GStreamer 1.20.2
* Perl 5.34.1
* Python 3.10 as the default interpreter
Cheers,
Dominique
Heads-up: Snapshot 20220510 will be larger than usual (GCC12 rebuild)
Dear Tumbleweed users,
Just a small shout-out: Snapshot 0510 is currently in progress of
syncing out to the mirrors and should become available later this
afternoon.
This snapshot has been rebuilt entirely using gcc12 - it's been quite a
while since we did a full rebuild (intentionally skipped it after the
glibc update in February, knowing the gcc 12 is close by) - so it was a
good thihng to do.
For you as user that means only one thing: you need a bit more
patiance, as the snapshot will be larger to download. The regular
openQA GNOME and KDE Tests updating from snapshot 0509 to 0510
performed a download of approx 1.7 GB each. The more you will have
installed, the higher that number will be of couese.
OpenQA did not notice anything weird in this snapshot, the reported
errors are generally unchanged to 0509, which is a good sign.
Hope you will enjoy the snapshot - now built with GCC12.
Cheers,
Dominique
Hello openSUSE!
Leap 15.4 build Build230.2 is our Release Candidate. Build should be
available in next 30 minutes on get-o-o.
Test results look pretty solid as you'd expect from RC. We are roughly
2 weeks *late with the build delivery. My original ETA was wednesday
but we managed to get build finished and tested sooner.
The main driver for our next milestone which is Gold Master is to have
an annoucement of SLES 15 SP4 GMC (Gold Master Candidate) and further
annoucement of GOLD Master itself.
Leap 15.4 GM build is currently scheduled for 27th May (code-drop
deadline was on 16th), which gives us enough time for tailing SLES
changes and wait for SLES 15 SP4 GM acceptance, pull any translation
updates and finish pending tasks such as the second security audit.
The area where we're behind and could potentially affect the GA is
openQA setup for updates https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/108797
This task is currently a priority for the current sprint of our QA
team.
==== wireplumber ====
Version update (0.4.9 -> 0.4.10)
Subpackages: libwireplumber-0_4-0 wireplumber-audio
- Update to version 0.4.10:
* Changes
- Add i18n support to be able to translate some user-visible
strings.
- wpctl now supports using
@DEFAULT_{AUDIO_,VIDEO_,}{SINK,SOURCE}@ as ID, almost like
pactl. Additionally, it supports a --pid flag for changing
volume and mute state by specifying a process ID, applying
the state to all nodes of a specific client process.
- The Lua engine now supports loading Lua libraries. These can
be placed either in the standard Lua libraries path or in
the "lib" subdirectory of WirePlumber's "scripts" directory
and can be loaded with ``require()``
- The Lua engine's sandbox has been relaxed to allow more
functionality in scripts (the debug & coroutine libraries
and some other previously disabled functions)
- Lua scripts are now wrapped in special WpPlugin objects,
allowing them to load asynchronously and declare when they
have finished their loading
- Add a new script that provides the same functionality as
module-fallback-sink from PipeWire, but also takes endpoints
into account and can be customised more easily. Disabled by
default for now to avoid conflicts.
* Policy
- Add an optional experimental feature that allows filter-like
streams (like echo-cancel or filter-node) to match the
channel layout of the device they connect to, on both sides
of the filter; that means that if, for instance, a sink has
6 channels and the echo-cancel's source stream is linked to
that sink, then the virtual sink presented by echo-cancel
will also be configured to the same 6 channels layout. This
feature needs to be explicitly enabled in the configuration
("filter.forward-format")
- filter-like streams (filter-chain and such) no longer follow
the default sink when it changes, like in PulseAudio.
* Fixes
- The suspend-node script now also suspends nodes that go into
the "error" state, allowing them to recover from errors
without having to restart WirePlumber.
- Fix a crash in mixer-api when setting volume with
channelVolumes.
- logind module now watches only for user state changes,
avoiding errors when machined is not running.
* Misc
- The configuration files now have comments mentioning which
options need to be disabled in order to run WirePlumber
without D-Bus.
- The configuration files now have properties to
enable/disable the monitors and other sections, so that it
is possible to disable them by dropping in a file that just
sets the relevant property to false.
- setlocale() is now called directly instead of relying on
pw_init().
- WpSpaJson received some fixes and is now used internally to
parse configuration files.
- More applications were added to the bluetooth auto-switch
applications whitelist.
- Add a new wireplumber-lang package.
- Drop patches already upstream:
* 0001-scripts-policy-device-profile-clear-tables-when-devices-removed.patch
* 0001-src-setlocale-in-main-for-tools-and-the-daemon.patch
- Rebase reduce-meson-required-version.patch
