As alternative, maybe continue to build qbitorrent with Qt5 since the authors still consider Qt6 as work in progress?

Better use '%ifarch %{arm32}', this also includes armv6 (used for RPi1/2,
mostly abandoned), and also would include armv8 (!= aarch64).
`grep arm /usr/lib/rpm/macros`

- Disable forced realtime scheduler priority
By default, the encoder library will attempt to set realtime
scheduler priority. Disable this behavior, as it serves no
practical purpose (video encoding does not benefit from reduced
process latency) and will only make the system unresponsive.
(Additionally, it is arguably not a video encoder library?s job
to manage scheduler priorities for the calling process.)

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
This week, the major news is a glibc update to version 2.35. This was
surprisingly smooth (so far) compared to earlier version updates. Let’s
all cross our fingers for this to stay the way it is. In total,
Tumbleweed has seen 6 new snapshots during this week (0210, 0212, 0213,
0214, 0215, and 0216).
The major changes in these snapshots were:
* Mozilla Firefox 97.0
* GStreamer 1.18.6
* Mesa 21.3.6
* Linux kernel 5.16.8, with full drm support in earlyboot; this will
be disabled again with kernel 5.16.10
* NetworkManager 1.34.0
* gnome-shell and mutter 41.4
* Glibc 2.35 (Snapshot 0216)
The future, near and far, will bring these changes to Tumbleweed (and
of course more, which we have no tests in staging going on yet):
* KDE Plasma 5.24.1 (Snapshot 0217+)
* KDE Frameworks 5.91
* Linux kernel 5.16.10, simpedrm disabled again: too many issues
reported
* systemd packaging changes: systemd-sysvinit will be renamed to
systemd-sysvcompat: most users won’t need it (sysv support is minimized
anyway, and Tumbleweed no longer ships any sysv init script)
* Python 3.6 interpreter will be removed (We have roughly 75
python36-FOO packages left)
* Python 3.10 as the distro default interpreter (a bit down the line)
* GCC 12 introduction has started to be as ready as possible for when
the upstream release happens.
Cheers,
Dominique

==== glibc ====
Version update (2.34 -> 2.35)
Subpackages: glibc-32bit glibc-devel glibc-extra glibc-lang glibc-locale glibc-locale-base nscd
- Update to glibc 2.35
Major new features:
* Unicode 14.0.0 Support
* Bump r_version in the debugger interface to 2
* Support for the C.UTF-8 locale has been added to glibc
* <math.h> functions that round their results to a narrower type, and
corresponding <tgmath.h> macros, are added from TS 18661-1:2014, TS
18661-3:2015 and draft ISO C2X
* <math.h> functions for floating-point maximum and minimum,
corresponding to new operations in IEEE 754-2019, and corresponding
<tgmath.h> macros, are added from draft ISO C2X
* <math.h> macros for single-precision float constants are added as a
GNU extension
* The __STDC_IEC_60559_BFP__ and __STDC_IEC_60559_COMPLEX__ macros are
predefined as specified in TS 18661-1:2014
* The exp10 functions in <math.h> now have a corresponding type-generic
macro in <tgmath.h>
* The ISO C2X macro _PRINTF_NAN_LEN_MAX has been added to <stdio.h>
* printf-family functions now support the %b format for output of
integers in binary, as specified in draft ISO C2X, and the %B variant
of that format recommended by draft ISO C2X
* A new DSO sorting algorithm has been added in the dynamic linker that uses
topological sorting by depth-first search (DFS), solving performance issues
of the existing sorting algorithm when encountering particular circular
object dependency cases
* A new tunable, glibc.rtld.dynamic_sort, can be used to select between
the two DSO sorting algorithms
* ABI support for a new function '__memcmpeq'. '__memcmpeq' is meant
to be used by compilers for optimizing usage of 'memcmp' when its
return value is only used for its boolean status
* Support for automatically registering threads with the Linux rseq
system call has been added
* A symbolic link to the dynamic linker is now installed under
/usr/bin/ld.so (or more precisely, '${bindir}/ld.so')
* All programs and the testsuite in glibc are now built as position independent
executables (PIE) by default on toolchains and architectures that support it
* On Linux, a new tunable, glibc.malloc.hugetlb, can be used to
either make malloc issue madvise plus MADV_HUGEPAGE on mmap and sbrk
or to use huge pages directly with mmap calls with the MAP_HUGETLB
flags)
* The printf family of functions now handles the flagged %#m conversion
specifier, printing errno as an error constant (similar to strerrorname_np)
* The function _dl_find_object has been added
* On Linux, the epoll_pwait2 function has been added
* The function posix_spawn_file_actions_addtcsetpgrp_np has been added,
enabling posix_spawn and posix_spawnp to set the controlling terminal in
the new process in a race free manner
* Source fortification (_FORTIFY_SOURCE) level 3 is now available for
applications compiling with glibc and gcc 12 and later
Deprecated and removed features, and other changes affecting compatibility:
* On x86-64, the LD_PREFER_MAP_32BIT_EXEC environment variable support
has been removed since the first PT_LOAD segment is no longer executable
due to defaulting to -z separate-code
* The r_version update in the debugger interface makes the glibc binary
incompatible with GDB
* Intel MPX support (lazy PLT, ld.so profile, and LD_AUDIT) has been removed
* The catchsegv script and associated libSegFault.so shared object have
been removed
* Support for prelink will be removed in the next release; this includes
removal of the LD_TRACE_PRELINKING, and LD_USE_LOAD_BIAS, environment
variables and their functionality in the dynamic loader
Changes to build and runtime requirements:
* The audit module interface version LAV_CURRENT is increased to enable
proper bind-now support
* The audit interface on aarch64 is extended to support both the indirect
result location register (x8) and NEON Q register
Security related changes:
* CVE-2022-23219: Passing an overlong file name to the clnt_create
legacy function could result in a stack-based buffer overflow when
using the "unix" protocol
* CVE-2022-23218: Passing an overlong file name to the svcunix_create
legacy function could result in a stack-based buffer overflow
* CVE-2021-3998: Passing a path longer than PATH_MAX to the realpath
function could result in a memory leak and potential access of
uninitialized memory
* CVE-2021-3999: Passing a buffer of size exactly 1 byte to the getcwd
function may result in an off-by-one buffer underflow and overflow
when the current working directory is longer than PATH_MAX and also
corresponds to the / directory through an unprivileged mount

==== python-kiwi ====
Version update (9.24.21 -> 9.24.23)
- Bump version: 9.24.22 ? 9.24.23
- Fixed name of secret variable
The ci-update-build-tests action used a wrong variable
name which does not exist in the github secrets. This
commit fixes it and uses the correct variable name
- Bump version: 9.24.21 ? 9.24.22
- Revert "Revert "Fixed MicroOS build test""
This reverts commit 8c4464b8ff2af2642439ce92e1e2be497f2b0f4d.
snapper default config has moved from /etc to /usr/share
now hopefully for the last time
- Fixed unit tests
The pytest interface setup() method call has changed
in a way that an additional parameter is passed to
the method which leads to a python error at invocation
time if the setup method does not define it.
- build-tests: Update CentOS 8 test appliance to CentOS Stream 8
CentOS Linux 8 is now EOL, so switch over to CentOS Stream 8.
- Fixed handling of oem reboot settings
There are oem settings called oem-reboot, oem-reboot-interactive
as well as oem-shutdown and oem-shutdown-interactive. When used
the information is passed along to the profile but not evaluated
by any initrd code. I don't know where on the way we lost the
code that actually works with these settings but this commit
makes them effective. This Fixes #2056
- treat armv8l as armv7hl
openSUSE switched from armv7hl buildworkers to aarch64 in 32bit mode
which identifies itself as "armv8l" in uname -m.

- Added hardening to systemd service(s) (bsc#1181400). Modified:
* wondershaper.service
==== wxWidgets-3_0 ====
- Drop gnome-vfs2-devel and no longer pass with-gnomevfs to
configure, gnome-vfs2 is deprecated many many years ago, and
slated for removal from openSUSE Factory. It is currently only
used for associating MIME types (in wxWidgets), and we can live
without that.
==== zypper-lifecycle-plugin ====
- Added hardening to systemd service(s) (bsc#1181400). Added patch(es):
* harden_lifecycle-report.service.patch
Hi,
Leap 15.4 had a submission deadline this week. I submitted syslog-ng a
long time ago, but I wanted to double check its status anyway. And I'm
confused now...
How can I figure out why syslog-ng did not arrive to various openSUSE
distros and/or platforms? I submitted syslog-ng version 3.35.1 to
Factory more than three months ago, and to openSUSE Leap 15.4 soon after.
See: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory/syslog-ng
and in Tumblweed x86_64 it's really there:
tumbleweed:~ # syslog-ng -V
syslog-ng 3 (3.35.1)
[...]
But on ARMv7 it's still an old version:
tumbleweed:~ # syslog-ng -V
syslog-ng 3 (3.30.1)
[...]
Leap 15.4 has in theory the latest syslog-ng as well:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Leap:15.4/syslog-ng
But in practice it still has an old release:
leap154:~ # syslog-ng -V
syslog-ng 3 (3.30.1)
[...]
Is it because I did something wrong, or it's not in my control?
Peter
Hi
spec-cleaner (v1.2.1) changes
%python_libalternatives_reset_alternative
to
%{python_libalternatives_reset_alternative}
However, this creates error when building the package, for example, I
get the following errors:
[ 37s] /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.NzXnJa: line 7: jupyter-execute: command not found
[ 37s] error: %prein(python39-nbclient-0.5.11-36.1.noarch) scriptlet

[ 37s] error: python38-nbclient-0.5.11-36.1.noarch: install failed
[ 37s] failed to install rpms, aborting build
Is this an error with spec-cleaner or with some other tool?
Happy to file a bug report and perhaps try to get a PR to fix this, once
I know where the issue comes from.

The system is this:
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20220214
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.16.5-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × Intel® Core™ i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz
Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: llvmpipe
I recently upgraded the nvidia drivers from the ..G05-470 level to
the ...G06-510 level. For the first time on this machine, that
has allowed me to load Plasma in Wayland. Sort of, anyway. It's
marginally usable but among other things there seems to be something
wrong with full-blooded compositing and a number of the Desktop Effects
aren't available. "Wobbly Windows" for example.
What I don't understand is this.
The output of <rpm -qa | grep nvidia> is:
> libnvidia-egl-wayland-devel-1.1.9-1.1.x86_64

whereas the output of <inxi -G> is
> Device-1: NVIDIA TU117 [GeForce GTX 1650] driver: nvidia
> v: 470.103.01
> Device-2: Logitech Webcam C930e type: USB
> driver: snd-usb-audio,uvcvideo
> Display: wayland server: SUSE LINUX 1.21.1.3 driver:

> failed: nvidia resolution: 3344x1881~60Hz
> OpenGL: renderer: llvmpipe (LLVM 13.0.1 256 bits)
> v: 4.5 Mesa 21.3.6
.... which appears to be saying that the nvidia driver is still at
470.103.01
I assume this matters, but diagnosing the apparent anomaly is well
beyond my capability. Can anyone help????
