Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, For Tumbleweed it has become the norm to deliver snapshots daily – and we are not making any exception to this in week 46. We have again published 7 snapshots (1111…1117), with the latest one just published moments ago. From a staging point of view, it seems like things are being tested much better lately before being submitted: almost everything passes through staging in a day or so (this is not an invitation to change this – more a Thank you to the respective maintainers making things the way they are) The 7 snapshots brought you these changes: * KDE Frameworks 5.100.0 * LLVM 15.0.4 * freerdp 2.8.1 * Bash 5.2.9 * Linux kernel 6.0.8 * Shadow 4.13 * IceWM 3.2.0 * Mozilla Firefox 107 * systemd 252.1 * Python (all versions): Fixes for CVE-2022-45061 * postgresql10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 – all bump to their latest minor version As things go so quickly through the staging projects, it’s much harder to predict what we will receive during the next week. Hi, I don't know if java packages are maintained by volunteers or by openSUSE, but I would like to ask if there is some plan, how java packages will be released, since Oracle changed release cycle to 6 months? I am asking because e.g. java 19 is here from September 19. and Tumbleweed still does not have them. thanks, Michal Hlavac

Hi, I finally got VirtualBox to build with osc, but when I sent is upstream, signing failed with the following message: [ 455s] OTHER/pesign-repackage.spec could not retrieve ssl certificate: 400 remote error: /usr/local/sbin/bssign 256 (http://src-opensuse:5353/getsslcert?project=home:lwfinger:branches:Virtuali…) Has something changed regarding certificates? Adrian: the script checks a project or a package that has no changes for more than one year. It will create a delete request, that can be deleted. If there is no reaction there will be auto-acceptance in few days. Package can be always manually submitted back if the DR was missed. Users will not be deactivated. Adrian: User cleanup would have to be discussed with IDP team (SUSE IT). OBS is just a consumer. Lubos will create a request to suggest this action in Service desk. Adrian: if the user never logged in into OBS, that's probably a cleanup that could stay in touch. ## Open Floor Cisco h264 information for openSUSE openh264 related call with Cisco tomorrow at 5:00 CET. We'll discuss next steps with https://github.com/cisco/openh264/issues/3480 OBS team mentioned that cisco could use private instance of OBS. Seems like OBS setup from scratch is no longer that difficult. suse-release provides, lubos would like to suggest adoption of it on SUSE side via Jira, otherwise this can lead to some unexpected behavior.
