Dear Package maintainers and hackers.
Below package(s) in openSUSE:Factory have been failing to build for at
least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the
configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no
fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.
- opae
- python-octave-kernel
- soapy-remote
- soapy-uhd
Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed
package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Factory.
Kind regards,
DimStar / Dominique Leuenberger <dimstar(a)opensuse.org>

Hi,
For some years upstream cryptsetup already used LUKS2 as default on-disk
format. The Tumbleweed package stayed with LUKS1 so far though. As grub
2.06 recently gained LUKS2 support, cryptsetup can finally switch.
A cryptsetup 2.4.0 update is currently in staging and will likely land
in TW soon. After that new installations will use LUKS2 for encrypted
hard disks.
Unfortunately grub2 can't handle Argon2 as key-derivation function yet.
So TW has to stay with PBKDF2 for now.
Information about LUKS2 etc can be found upstream:

dleuenberger is back on duty
* kernel 5.13.12 with UsrMerge support has been merged, Snapshot 0824
first to contain it, currently in QA
* GNOME 40.4 landed in 'phases' (no synced checkin, unless things
relied on each other)
* rpmlint2 is still work in progress
lkocman: perhaps on radar for 15.5? Depends if it would really be the
last 15.X release or not.
* glibc 2.34 is work in progress, build failures are slowly diminishing
* systemd 249 is still pending, maintainer should be back in a week
## Richard (Kubic/TW MicroOS)
k8s versions 1.22.0 is on the way
container-selinux with integrated k3s support from upstream is in
factory, now looking at smoothly integrating tools for k3s-with-selinux
without third party RPMs
Working on adding k3s-install to Kubic, a curated version of the
Rancher k3s installation script that negates the need to curl random
shell scripts from the internet.
experimented with crun by default (instead of runc) - was promising,
but cruns dep tree doesn't exist on s390x or ppc64le so it seems we'll
be sticking with runc on those architectures at least.
## Max
* Regarding to

renamed obsoletes_finder to skippkg_finder (
https://github.com/nilxam/osc-plugin-factory/blob/skippkg_finder/skippkg-fi…
) since it wasn't just finding obsoleted binary, it overwrites
NON_FTP_PACKAGEs.group entirely for obsoleted/unneeded binary from
SLE/openSUSE
Max: the execution time: 7m55.279s
* morla3 and morla5 fails to build Leap's ftp-tree, ask Adirn a

in Leap's medium, otherwise the shortcut setup in installer will be
changed then broke openQA testing
lkocman: I'll check on this with docs team, also for 15.4
## Guillaume - Arm
Dirk: TW is working fine, couple of failures that need to be worked on
in Rings project.
Will be on FTO - from 9th to 27th of August.
Tumbleweed:
* installation-images:* are broken for Arm since last update. A fix
is in system:install:head/installation-images and will be forwarded to
Factory.
* Fix for btrfs support in u-boot is on the way to Factory:
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/909899
Leap 15.3:
* Armv7: Is good enough to release officialy. The maintenance setup
is problematic, so we may not freeze and need to keep a rolling release
model. Any opinion?
Armv7: is now published. We need to make sure it's accessible from get-
o-o.
WSL: Stalled: WIP to have WSL on aarch64 on
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:Guillaume_G:WSL
todo: lkocman to write a blog post how
We have a WSL feature for 15 SP4 to have all SUSE/openSUSE images
installed from outside of the store "adopt the new behavior". Therefore
we wouldn't have to build the WSL-DistroLauncher image any more.
## Sarah - s390x
* New Tumbleweed releases.
* bi-weekly training sessions tor topics as mainframes,
containerization, packaging:
https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/zsystems@lists.opensuse.org/messag…
* Next training session today about building container images with
OBS
## Doug
* Waiting on guidence for next step on software.o.o. proposal
* Membership process on code.o.o. has been handed over to the
membership team (connect-o-o is gone)
* wiki page reflects process being updated during August 2021
Dirk: Did we migrate all the accounts? So far three is only few
members.
Doug: I'll ping Lars about it.
* PR for get.o.o. & GNOME website fix
* Regular Meetings
* Two meeting options a week:
Meeting 1: Meeting will be on Tuesdays at 11:00 UTC
Meeting 2: Meeting will be on Thursdays at 18:00 UTC
Location: https://meet.opensuse.org/meeting
Etherpad: https://etherpad.opensuse.org/p/weeklymeeting

Update in arm section
## Gerald

## Wolfgang (Package Hub), Scott Bahling
Not present
Max: discussion with Wolfgang about bug related to missing debuginfo
rpms for kde packages from backports. Wolfgang already took issue to
the maintenance team. Debuginfo was not enabled in the project, we'll
rebuild the kde packages in maintenance project, so users will get
debuginfo packages from the update channel.
Max: Wolfgang enabled debuginfo in Backports:SLE-15-SP4
Marcus: if you have the package list for me then I can just do an empty
rebuild and re-release packages from update project.
Max: I'll ask wolfgang to prepare the list.
A proposal to move all SLE forks to subpackages module/prouduct
https://github.com/openSUSE/openSUSE-release-process/issues/71 This
would then fix our problem with submit requests not being forwarded to
the correct origin.
GAP was removed completly from openSUSE:Backports:SLE-15-SP4 (and
therefore from Leap 15.4)
Looking into migration scenarious from Leap to SLE that SUSE might
support
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:System_upgrade - Covers also migration from
Leap X.Y to SLE X.Y
## Maintenance team (Marina or Marcus)
No updates for 15.4.
The dnf stack update and rpm update was released last week. Please
check if this worked out.
Issue with i586 architecture missing in Backports:15-SP3:Update.
Otherwise openqa is green updates are going through.
Neal confirmed that needed updates landed, just that containers rebuild
was not triggered automatically.
Just to note that maintenance testing related tasks were added to
https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Roadmap
Our attempt to eliminate issues with maint updates in GA timeframe.
Self update for installer:
https://code.opensuse.org/leap/features/issue/26
The yast installer only supports one update repo for updates. We can
either push updates from IBS or OBS.
We have to decide whether to support yast or skelcd. I'm not sure if we
can have merged repo.
Adrian: you can release it via openSUSE:Leap:15.3. This would be a
fork.
lkocman: Light touch on the topic to display status of SLES updates to
community. We can try to find the way to export the data.
Marcus: Generally could be possible, but we need to explicitly avoid
exposing embargoed security issues to the outside. Also review IP/NDA
updates where the schedule is not public.
Lubos still needs to talk to Stephan B. I received links to an existing
gitlab.suse.de project that simon lees seem to use for tracking
important updates for openSUSE.
Marcus: is there any update on the Leap 15.3 respins. lkocman:
Unfortunatelly no, it's currently blocked on me.
## Adrian - CtLG or openSUSE Step
Happy to be around.
Back from vacation
Received a response from Red Hat to support OBS as a community project.
So I have now finally a RHEL subscription that we can use. So openSUSE
is now approved as opensource project.
All covered in comments above.
Adrian: I had to fix issues in product builder so we won't end up in
situation where srpm is missing. We've had this issue by glibc (this
would otherwise violate GPL). This would be another reason to rebuild
ftp trees.
How do we reference to CODE 15. 15.3 was the result of our survey.
#### Pattern minimization for JeOS and openSUSE
Existing feature for pattern unification of Leap and SLE
https://code.opensuse.org/leap/features/issue/4
Richard: if we'll go the road the Leap and SLE first, then you'll have
to change skelcd/instlaller data (two branches for SLE and Leap) as
well and you'll end up with increased divergence from TW/Factory.
gmoro: Changes will be made initially to patterns-base, specially the
minimal_base and base patterns.
Next steps will be taken to push some of the work in a branch project
for TW first and test it, we will then move to integrate with Leap and
SLE
Possible fallout will be take into account and the initial changes will
try to be less invasive as possible.

* Fix kismetdb_to_wiglecsv Bluetooth.
* Handle the nested WHERE for Bluetooth devices in wiglecsv
correctly.

- Update to version 2021-05-R1
Changes and Updates
* New mutex and threading.
* Multi-core packet decoding.
* New 802.15.4 phy.
* 802.15.4 is now decoded and displayed in the UI! While many
devices report the default PAN of 0x00, it?s still a huge
step forward!
* New data capture drivers for the Nuand BladeRF2 with Wiphy
firmware, the nrf52840 802.15.4 hardware, and killerbee
802.15.4 hardware.
* New alert UI.
* Alerts now have their own top-level panel and are searchable,
sortable, and have priorities assigned to them.
* Fix Wi-Fi on Linux 5.10 and newer.
* The Linux kernel changed how netlink messages are fragmented,
which broke how channels were indexed. Most likely this would
show up when you had a number of Wi-Fi interfaces plugged in
at once. This is fixed now.
* PcapNG GPS logging.
* New custom blocks and attributes in PcapNG logs for
GPS logging.
* Shift to officially requiring C++14 .
* Support older libwebsockets.
* Support ADSB HEX export per-source.
* Fix datasources in error state getting into weird loops.
* Datasoruces flapping in some error states (such as devices
being unplugged) could get into weird states where the UUID
would flap; this confused the logs, the datasources UI, and
other spots. Properly retain the UUID.
* Fix datasources getting into a no-channels state.
* Some combinations of errors could lead to datasources getting
into a state with no channels, and never being able to get out
of it.
* Fix Wi-Fi pulling WEXT legacy channels.
* Default to WEXT IOCTL legacy channels when netlink fails or
returns no channels, resolve wext channel frequencies to
channel names.
* Fix several thread contention errors on data.
* Several objects were shared for serialization and not properly
protected, leading to subtle corruption or outright crashes at
times. Those are now removed from the combined APIs or properly
protected.
* Better error handling for TI-CC-2531 and TI-CC-2540 .
* Handle soft-resets of the TI-CC-2531 and 2540 802.15.4 and
BTLE chipsets gracefully, so there are fewer errors and resets
of the hardware.
* Add Bluetooth and BTLE to Wigle exports.
* Adding a /&censor=1 to the Kismet web UI will censor all
location and mac addresses (to the best of its ability),
making it easy to take screenshots.
* The new webserver broke CORS negotiation. Fixed.
* Smarter handling of HT/VHT IE tags.
* Fix error timer initialization in datasources.
* Don?t accidentally kill other timers anymore.
* Add new WIDS signatures.
* Detect CVE-2020-9395.
* Fix up HTTP header connection states.
* Add fetch device, monitor device, mac search APIs.
* Fix eventbus websocket errors.
* Expand buffer sizes for remote and IPC capture, this improves
stability significantly on some platforms.
* Many more smaller bugfixes throughout.
* General improvements and changes to the REST API.

Version update (0.18.2 -> 0.19.0)
- remove xarray-pr5449-dask-meta.patch, merged upstream.
- remove test_resample_loffset.patch, merged upstream.
- update to version 0.19.0:
- This release brings improvements to plotting of categorical data, the ability to specify how attributes:
- are combined in xarray operations, a new high-level :py:func:`unify_chunks` function, as well as various:
- deprecations, bug fixes, and minor improvements.:
- Many thanks to the 29 contributors to this release!:
- Andrew Williams, Augustus, Aureliana Barghini, Benoit Bovy, crusaderky, Deepak Cherian, ellesmith88,:
- Elliott Sales de Andrade, Giacomo Caria, github-actions[bot], Illviljan, Joeperdefloep, joooeey, Julia Kent,:
- Julius Busecke, keewis, Mathias Hauser, Matthias Göbel, Mattia Almansi, Maximilian Roos, Peter Andreas Entschev,:
- Ray Bell, Sander, Santiago Soler, Sebastian, Spencer Clark, Stephan Hoyer, Thomas Hirtz, Thomas Nicholas.:
- New Features:
- Allow passing argument ``missing_dims`` to :py:meth:`Variable.transpose` and :py:meth:`Dataset.transpose`
(:issue:`5550`, :pull:`5586`)
By `Giacomo Caria <https://github.com/gcaria>`_.
- Allow passing a dictionary as coords to a :py:class:`DataArray` (:issue:`5527`,
reverts :pull:`1539`, which had deprecated this due to python's inconsistent ordering in earlier versions).
By `Sander van Rijn <https://github.com/sjvrijn>`_.
- Added :py:meth:`Dataset.coarsen.construct`, :py:meth:`DataArray.coarsen.construct` (:issue:`5454`, :pull:`5475`).
By `Deepak Cherian <https://github.com/dcherian>`_.
- Xarray now uses consolidated metadata by default when writing and reading Zarr
stores (:issue:`5251`).
By `Stephan Hoyer <https://github.com/shoyer>`_.
- New top-level function :py:func:`unify_chunks`.
By `Mattia Almansi <https://github.com/malmans2>`_.
- Allow assigning values to a subset of a dataset using positional or label-based
indexing (:issue:`3015`, :pull:`5362`).
By `Matthias Göbel <https://github.com/matzegoebel>`_.
- Attempting to reduce a weighted object over missing dimensions now raises an error (:pull:`5362`).
By `Mattia Almansi <https://github.com/malmans2>`_.
- Add ``.sum`` to :py:meth:`~xarray.DataArray.rolling_exp` and
:py:meth:`~xarray.Dataset.rolling_exp` for exponentially weighted rolling
sums. These require numbagg 0.2.1;
(:pull:`5178`).
By `Maximilian Roos <https://github.com/max-sixty>`_.
- :py:func:`xarray.cov` and :py:func:`xarray.corr` now lazily check for missing
values if inputs are dask arrays (:issue:`4804`, :pull:`5284`).
By `Andrew Williams <https://github.com/AndrewWilliams3142>`_.
- Attempting to ``concat`` list of elements that are not all ``Dataset`` or all ``DataArray`` now raises an error (:issue:`5051`, :pull:`5425`).
By `Thomas Hirtz <https://github.com/thomashirtz>`_.
- allow passing a function to ``combine_attrs`` (:pull:`4896`).
By `Justus Magin <https://github.com/keewis>`_.
- Allow plotting categorical data (:pull:`5464`).
By `Jimmy Westling <https://github.com/illviljan>`_.

(:issue:`5510`).
By `Elle Smith <https://github.com/ellesmith88>`_.
- Added :py:meth:`DataArray.to_numpy`, :py:meth:`DataArray.as_numpy`, and :py:meth:`Dataset.as_numpy`. (:pull:`5568`).
By `Tom Nicholas <https://github.com/TomNicholas>`_.
- Units in plot labels are now automatically inferred from wrapped :py:meth:`pint.Quantity` arrays. (:pull:`5561`).
By `Tom Nicholas <https://github.com/TomNicholas>`_.
- Breaking changes:
- The default ``mode`` for :py:meth:`Dataset.to_zarr` when ``region`` is set
has changed to the new ``mode="r+"``, which only allows for overriding
pre-existing array values. This is a safer default than the prior ``mode="a"``,
and allows for higher performance writes (:pull:`5252`).
By `Stephan Hoyer <https://github.com/shoyer>`_.
- The main parameter to :py:func:`combine_by_coords` is renamed to `data_objects` instead
of `datasets` so anyone calling this method using a named parameter will need to update
the name accordingly (:issue:`3248`, :pull:`4696`).
By `Augustus Ijams <https://github.com/aijams>`_.
- Deprecations:
- Removed the deprecated ``dim`` kwarg to :py:func:`DataArray.integrate` (:pull:`5630`)
- Removed the deprecated ``keep_attrs`` kwarg to :py:func:`DataArray.rolling` (:pull:`5630`)
- Removed the deprecated ``keep_attrs`` kwarg to :py:func:`DataArray.coarsen` (:pull:`5630`)
- Completed deprecation of passing an ``xarray.DataArray`` to :py:func:`Variable` - will now raise a ``TypeError`` (:pull:`5630`)
- Bug fixes:
- Fix a minor incompatibility between partial datetime string indexing with a
:py:class:`CFTimeIndex` and upcoming pandas version 1.3.0 (:issue:`5356`,
:pull:`5359`).
By `Spencer Clark <https://github.com/spencerkclark>`_.
- Fix 1-level multi-index incorrectly converted to single index (:issue:`5384`,
:pull:`5385`).
By `Benoit Bovy <https://github.com/benbovy>`_.
- Don't cast a duck array in a coordinate to :py:class:`numpy.ndarray` in
:py:meth:`DataArray.differentiate` (:pull:`5408`)
By `Justus Magin <https://github.com/keewis>`_.
- Fix the ``repr`` of :py:class:`Variable` objects with ``display_expand_data=True``
(:pull:`5406`)
By `Justus Magin <https://github.com/keewis>`_.
- Plotting a pcolormesh with ``xscale="log"`` and/or ``yscale="log"`` works as
expected after improving the way the interval breaks are generated (:issue:`5333`).
By `Santiago Soler <https://github.com/santisoler>`_
- :py:func:`combine_by_coords` can now handle combining a list of unnamed
``DataArray`` as input (:issue:`3248`, :pull:`4696`).
By `Augustus Ijams <https://github.com/aijams>`_.
- Internal Changes:
- Run CI on the first & last python versions supported only; currently 3.7 & 3.9.
(:pull:`5433`)
By `Maximilian Roos <https://github.com/max-sixty>`_.
- Publish test results & timings on each PR.
(:pull:`5537`)
By `Maximilian Roos <https://github.com/max-sixty>`_.
- Explicit indexes refactor: add a ``xarray.Index.query()`` method in which
one may eventually provide a custom implementation of label-based data
selection (not ready yet for public use). Also refactor the internal,
pandas-specific implementation into ``PandasIndex.query()`` and
``PandasMultiIndex.query()`` (:pull:`5322`).
By `Benoit Bovy <https://github.com/benbovy>`_.
==== shotwell ====
Version update (0.30.12 -> 0.30.14)
Subpackages: shotwell-lang
- Update to version 0.30.14:
+ Fix import from camera, for real.
- Changes from version 0.30.13:
+ Fix import from camera.
+ Fix editing event comment if photo is selected.
+ Fix uploading more than 50 images to Google Photos.
+ Updated translations.
==== sudo ====
Version update (1.9.7 -> 1.9.7p2)
Subpackages: sudo-plugin-python
- update to 1.9.7p2
- enabled openssl support for secure central session
recording collection (without it's clear text)
- fixed SLES12 build
* When formatting JSON output, octal numbers are now stored as
strings, not numbers. The JSON spec does not actually support
octal numbers with a '0' prefix.
* Fixed a compilation issue on Solaris 9.
* Sudo now can handle the getgroups() function returning a different
number of groups for subsequent invocations. GitHub PR #106.
* When loading a Python plugin, python_plugin.so now verifies
that the module loaded matches the one we tried to load. This
allows sudo to display a more useful error message when trying
to load a plugin with a name that conflicts with a Python module
installed in the system location.
* Sudo no longer sets the the open files resource limit to "unlimited"
while it runs. This avoids a problem where sudo's closefrom()
emulation would need to close a very large number of descriptors
on systems without a way to determine which ones are actually open.
* Sudo now includes a configure check for va_copy or __va_copy and
only defines its own version if the configure test fails.
* Fixed a bug in sudo's utmp file handling which prevented old
entries from being reused. As a result, the utmp (or utmpx)
file was appended to unnecessarily. GitHub PR #108.
* Fixed a bug introduced in sudo 1.9.7 that prevented sudo_logsrvd
from accepting TLS connections when OpenSSL is used. Bug #988.
* Fixed an SELinux sudoedit bug when the edited temporary file
could not be opened. The sesh helper would still be run even
when there are no temporary files available to install.
* Fixed a compilation problem on FreeBSD.
* The sudo_noexec.so file is now built as a module on all systems
other than macOS. This makes it possible to use other libtool
implementations such as slibtool. On macOS shared libraries and
modules are not interchangeable and the version of libtool shipped
with sudo must be used.
* Fixed a few bugs in the getgrouplist() emulation on Solaris when
reading from the local group file.
* Fixed a bug in sudo_logsrvd that prevented periodic relay server
connection retries from occurring in "store_first" mode.
* Disabled the nss_search()-based getgrouplist() emulation on HP-UX
due to a crash when the group source is set to "compat" in
/etc/nsswitch.conf. This is probably due to a mismatch between
include/compat/nss_dbdefs.h and what HP-UX uses internally. On
HP-UX we now just cycle through groups the slow way using
getgrent(). Bug #978.

Bluetooth headset stopped working in (or before) 20210817 and 20210820
by Erwin Van de Velde 24 Aug '21
by Erwin Van de Velde 24 Aug '21
24 Aug '21
Hi,
My bluetooth headset used to work perfectly but now it fails on one of
my laptops, but continues to work on the other. It still connects on
the one where it fails, it is recognized by pulseaudio, but I do not
hear a sound, even though pavucontrol still shows output signals being
generated.
I suspect it is a bluetooth issue rather than an audio issue.
journalctl shows me:
Aug 23 14:28:36 RBT-work kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: SCO packet for
unknown connection handle 0
plenty of times and this does not happen on the laptop where sound still works.
Can someone help me on this issue?
Kind regards,
Erwin

I have been wanting to update my Tumbleweed system. However, when I
last tried to do so a week or so ago the NVIDIA kernel driver was out
of wack.
I see that the current Tumbleweed kernel is 5.13.4, while the current
NVIDIA kernel module is 5.13.2. So I guess things are not quite
working again yet. Right?
I have been trying to stay with the RPM NVIDIA stuff instead of
installing the .run file. Generally that makes life easier...
The main reason I want to update now is that I went to install Virtual
Box. And it is available for 5.13.4, which makes sense.

Version update (1.19 -> 1.20)
Subpackages: gdbm-lang libgdbm6 libgdbm_compat4
- version update to 1.20
* New bucket cache
The bucket cache support has been rewritten from scratch. The new
bucket cache code provides for significant speed up of search
operations.
* Change mmap prereading strategy
Pre-reading of the memory mapper regions, introduced in version 1.19
can be advantageous only when doing intensive look-ups on a read-only
database. It degrades performance otherwise, especially if doing
multiple inserts. Therefore, this version introduces a new flag
to gdbm_open: GDBM_PREREAD. When given, it enables pre-reading of
memory mapped regions.
- modified patches

Hello all,
After upgrading to Latte Dock 0.10.0 on every login the latte dock
settings window opens, and I have to close it. Any ideas on where to
look for this "autostart" behavior.
Kind regards
Stratos
