Leap 15.3/Tumbleweed Live images - GRUB's "Boot from Hard Disk" does not work

Hi, everyone! I'm working on Linux Kamarada 15.3 (Leap-based Live image) and I found out that GRUB's "Boot from Hard Disk" does not work. Then, I tried the openSUSE Leap 15.3 GNOME Live image and realized it does not work as well: https://paste.opensuse.org/91892352 Instead of booting from the hard disk, it only shows a black screen and goes nowhere: https://paste.opensuse.org/1207661 I tried to edit the entries and both are the same: https://paste.opensuse.org/77657634 Additionally, I tested the openSUSE Tumbleweed (snapshot 20211206) GNOME Live image and all the screens above look the same. openSUSE:Factory - Build fail notification

Dear Package maintainers and hackers. Below package(s) in openSUSE:Factory have been failing to build for at least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no fix has been submitted. This probably means that the maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this sorted. - rspamd Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Factory. su problem after upgrade

Long story short: the file permissions of su changed during that upgrade (util-linux package?): Old: -rwsr-xr-x New: -rwxr-xr-x So I solved it by setting the setuid bit again: sudo chmod u+s /usr/bin/su But is this the correct solution or could the root cause be something else? -Miko

/usr/bin/ld.so as a symbolic link

I guess I should bring this up here as well. I've submitted a proposal to glibc upstream to install a symbolic link to the dynamic linker under /usr/bin/ld.so: [PATCH v3] elf: Install a symbolic link to ld.so as /usr/bin/ld.so <https://sourceware.org/pipermail/libc-alpha/2021-December/133952.html> This allows scripts to invoke dynamic linker features (e.g., ld.so --list-diagnostics) without hard-coding a specific path. It's still a bit rough around the edges (e.g., we can't launch binaries across architectures), but we've already fixed launching of executables that are not actually dynamically linked. I'm pretty sure OpenSUSE ships an ld.so(8) manual page already. It should be moved/linked to ld.so(1). (/usr/bin is the right directory because running ld.so does not need special privileges.) Tumbleweed - Review of the week 2021/49

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, Unfortunately, we could not keep up the daily streak of snapshots during this week. We ‘only’ managed to push out 6 snapshots. Over the last weekend, we had an openQA-worker causing some troubles, which resulted in not sufficient throughput to get anything ready to publish. But 6 snapshots is still acceptable, isn’t it? Anyway, we had the following releases: 1202, 1203, 1205, 1206, 1207, and 1208. The main changes included were: * KDE Plasma 5.23.4 * Automake 1.16.5 * sssd 2.6.1 * Harfbuzz 3.1.1: as announced, sadly with an ABI break. I triggered a rebuild of everything behind harfbuzz, so unless packages explicitly used the lost API, they should be back in shape at least. Unstable AMD Driver?

LS, Recently I bought a Radeon RX 6600 XT card from Gigabyte. But I noticed quite quickly that my system has issues. 95% of the time I try to wake the system - only the screen is switched off after sometime, no system suspend - the system input and display freezes. I noticed that the drive LED is still working, so assume that the rest of the system is still working. Thinking that the PSU might not up-to it's task with this new card, I upgraded that too. It seemed to go better, but still have these freezes from time to time. Below is a snippet from the log file around the time the system freezes. What to use as replacement for package otrs ?

Hi, otrs in TW and Leap is Community Edition of OTRS. This was abandoned by otrs.com last year or so. There were more than one forks. What will be our favourite replacement for otrs? It seems (looking into OBS) Chris (computersalat) had a look into otobo. But it is not in TW, not to speak of Leap. So I'm curious if it can be a replacement for the old otrs.
