Dear Package maintainers and hackers.
Below package(s) in openSUSE:Leap:15.2 have been failing to build for at
least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the
configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no
fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.

Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting fixes, the listed

I wanted to try newer kernels in the Kernel:/stable repo (currently 5.4.10)
but booting them result in a lockup at "Kernel loading...". Not even
initrd is loading.
Is this due to this new singnig key handling thing I am not familiar with ?
Is there anything I can do to have this working ?

Hello,
I've upgraded to 20200110-395.1 today with the new NetworkManager 1.22.2.
DHCP didn't work and neither did manual IP config, device state kept going
down and up.
My wired device didn't come up, I fixed it by removing the whole configuration
device in NetworkManager and added a new one on that specific device.
Seems to work fine now although now I can't compare with the previous
config... I also don't remember to have "special" config in there.
NetworkManager printed the following …

Dear Package maintainers and hackers.
Below package(s) in openSUSE:Factory have been failing to build for at
least 4 weeks. We tried to send out notifications to the
configured bugowner/maintainers of the package(s), but so far no
fix has been submitted. This probably means that the
maintainer/bugowner did not yet find the time to look into the
matter and he/she would certainly appreciate help to get this
sorted.
- python-clikit
- python-eliot
Unless somebody is stepping up and submitting …
[View More]fixes, the listed
package(s) are going to be removed from openSUSE:Factory.
Kind regards,

[opensuse-factory] Dropping of useless packages instead of build-fixing them?
by Stefan Seyfried 12 Jan '20
by Stefan Seyfried 12 Jan '20
12 Jan '20
Hi,
I advocated the dropping of i4lbase some time ago, simply because the kernel infrastructure that it needs is no longer
there, so it cannot be used for anything useful. I was ignored.
Now Marcus fixed isapnp build (standard LTO problem).
However, since we have
# CONFIG_ISA_BUS is not set
in our kernel config for quite some time, I'd guess that this also cannot work at all, even if it now builds.
Wouldn't the new year 2020 be a great opportunity to get rid of accumulated cruft like …
[View More]i4lbase and isapnp?
I mean -- on other occasions, packages are suggested for dropping just because nobody has touched them for 5+ years,
even if they build and work fine.
Have fun,
seife
