HI
I've not been able to read this email in the normal functions of kmail i.e. view in message window (its blank) or opening it (double click opens it but its blank). The only way i was able to read this email was to double click to open it and select "View Source".
Anyone else experiencing this?
regards
Ian

Hi,
Did anyone tried a fresh install on Beta 224.1 ? Am I the only one who
get a 10 minutes boot until GDM load ?
Other symptoms:
* GDM do not accept the password for a given non-root user. But
through TTY I can log in fine with the same user/pass
* To make GDM pass the login screen, I have to log into a TTY as root
directly and change password for my non-root user. Then the GDM accept
the password for the given user. For obscure reason it will not pass
GDM if I log in a TTY as the non-root user, su'ed as root, and change
the password for the same user. But still, log in TTY will be fine
with the non-root user.
* After logging into GDM, the screen stays stucked on a greyish
granular picture. It won't go further.
* When stucked, if I push the power button to force a soft shutdown,
the system will take about 10 minutes to get to the state "Reached
shutdown state" or something like that.
Reinstalled twice, same behavior each time.

Hello,
I'm using Digikam since long time ago to import and organize my
pictures from my Canon 1200D camera without issues. Since some days...
maybe with kernel 4.16, I'm getting usb disconnect when trying to
import some pictures. The procedure starts, transfers some pictures
and stops like you have disconnected the camera brutally, immediately
it reconnects and the Most Recent Device plasma applet launches to ask
you what to do with the camera.
I have reformatted the SD card on the camera and also tested with
Windows 10 and I'm not getting any issue there after trying a lot of
transfers. The problem is always reproducible for me on Tumbleweed and
not only on Digikam but also with file manager transfer (dolphin), so
it seems that it is a USB or KDE issue. USB disks or flash drives seem
not to be affected.
dmesg has nothing useful
[ 7724.413013] usb 4-1: new high-speed USB device number 6 using ehci-pci
[ 7724.571714] usb 4-1: New USB device found, idVendor=04a9, idProduct=327f

Any hints on where to look?
Thanks.

Switching back from tty to Plasma Wayland shows the sddm login/unlocking
screen, but nothing can be typed nor interacted with.
I had a spare laptop on hand with a clean install of tumbleweed and this issue
also occurs. I also reinstalled tumbleweed with Gnome instead (which appears
to use Wayland by default) and the screen locking does no occur.
Anyone else experiencing this? If so, I will probably file an upstream bug
report.
All kernel 4.16 releases brake my brightness. I've got intel hd 3000 integrated gpu and if I use kernel 4.15 I can change brightness with fn keys or xbacklight or kde pwer manager, but with all releases of 4.16 none of this method works. In particular with xbacklight I get this message
No protocol specified
No outputs have backlight property
How can I solve this issue?

For me it's still great, and I prefer it to any other.
But again, this has nothing to do with Akonadi, and porting kmail away from
Akonadi would not fix this problem either.
So stop this nonsense, please.
Kind Regards,
Wolfgang

Videos do not seem to disable the screen dimming or locking mechanism
automatically in Plasma Wayland.
Did I miss something, or is this a bug?

Leap 42.3 had gcc 4.8 as default and 7.x as an option. Leap 15.0 has gcc
7.3 as default but so far no gcc 4.8 as an option. I this going to change
before the release of 15.0?

Is it intentional? If so, why doesn't
https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Package_source_verification mention it?
TIA.
