Version update (2.16.2 -> 2.16.3)
Subpackages: git-core git-cvs git-daemon git-email git-gui git-svn git-web gitk
- Use %license instead of %doc [bsc#1082318]
- git 2.16.3:
* "git status" after moving a path in the working tree (hence
making it appear "removed") and then adding with the -N option
(hence making that appear "added") detected it as a rename, but
did not report the old and new pathnames correctly.
* "git commit --fixup" did not allow "-m<message>" option to be
used at the same time; allow it to annotate resulting commit
with more text.
* When resetting the working tree files recursively, the working
tree of submodules are now also reset to match.
* Fix for a commented-out code to adjust it to a rather old API
change around object ID.
* When there are too many changed paths, "git diff" showed a
warning message but in the middle of a line.
* The http tracing code, often used to debug connection issues,
learned to redact potentially sensitive information from its
output so that it can be more safely sharable.
* Crash fix for a corner case where an error codepath tried to
unlock what it did not acquire lock on.
* The split-index mode had a few corner case bugs fixed.
* Assorted fixes to "git daemon".
* Completion of "git merge -s<strategy>" (in contrib/) did not
work well in non-C locale.
* Workaround for segfault with more recent versions of SVN.
* Recently introduced leaks in fsck have been plugged.
* Travis CI integration now builds the executable in 'script'
phase to follow the established practice, rather than during
'before_script' phase. This allows the CI categorize the
failures better ('failed' is project's fault, 'errored' is
build environment's).

we already do for zsh. I couldn't see any advantages in this split.

- Make sure rpm won't expand %autopatch even if it's commented
- stat(1) as well as systemctl are not use in %post section of udev
So remove stat(1) from the list of dep and move systemctl to the
requirements of %postun since it's called from there.

- Drop 0001-basic-macros-rename-noreturn-into-_noreturn_.patch
It's been merged in the git repo.
- Rename the tarball
So it's clear that it contains some additional patches on top of the
upstream version. Use the commit hash in the name so the exact
version can easily be identified.
Provide _service file which can be used to retrieve the tarball from
the git repo (with "osc service disabledrun").
- Split systemd-coredump sub-package off (bsc#1083849)
- Don't ship machines.target in systemd-container but in systemd main package
machines.target is supposed to be a standard target for
starting/stopping all containers. systemd-nspawn is the main user of
it but other container managers could also make use of it.
- Build a mini variant of systemd-container
So we don't have to manually track and remove all files that should
be shipped by systemd-container in the case of a bootstrap build.
- Run migrate-sysconfig-i18n.sh also during package installation (bsc#1086164)
This is needed when we upgrade from SLE11.

This has been happening on most of my installations, maybe all, for many months.
Why does systemd try to load modules the system has no apparent need for, or do
not exist? What should be providing pciehp? AFAIK, I've never had a system that
requires dm* for storage access. The few systems I have using RAID use md_mod.
e.g., on TW20180401:
# journalctl -b | grep ailed

According to the download page[1], the netinstall image is 85 MiB in size, but
it turns out it's actually 369 MiB for
"openSUSE-Tumbleweed-NET-x86_64-Snapshot20180331-Media.iso".
Whom should I contact when I discover errors like that on the website?

Hello.
When I rebooted my system after the update, I spotted new artwork for
grub/boot.
I like it and I just wanted to share my appreciation.
Nice job.
Thank you.

and
bsc#1087018 CVE-2017-18248: cups: The add_job function in
scheduler/ipp.c in CUPS before 2.2.6, when D-Bus support is
enabled, can be crashed by remote attackers by sending print
jobs with an invalid username, related to a D-Bus notification
which are the CUPS upstream issues
https://github.com/apple/cups/issues/5143
Remote DoS attack against cupsd via invalid username
and malicious D-Bus library
and
https://github.com/apple/cups/issues/5186

see also
bsc#1087072 dbus-1:
Disable assertions to prevent un-expected DDoS attacks
* NOTICE: Raw print queues are now deprecated (Issue #5269)
so that now there is a warning message when you
add or modify a queue to use the "raw driver" but
raw printing will continue to work through CUPS 2.3.x, cf.
https://lists.cups.org/pipermail/cups/2018-March/074060.html
* Fixed an Avahi crash bug in the scheduler (Issue #5268)
* Systemd did not restart cupsd when configuration changes
were made that required a restart (Issue #5263)
* The scheduler could crash while adding an IPP Everywhere
printer (Issue #5258)
* The scheduler now supports using temporary print queues
for older IPP/1.1 print queues like those shared by CUPS 1.3
and earlier (Issue #5241)
* Kerberized printing to another CUPS server did not work
correctly (Issue #5233)
* More fixes for printing to old CUPS servers (Issue #5211)
* The scheduler now substitutes default values for invalid
job attributes when running in "relaxed conformance"
mode (Issue #5186)
* The cups-driverd program incorrectly stopped scanning PPDs
as soon as a loop was seen (Issue #5170)
* The `SSLOptions` directive now supports `MinTLS` and `MaxTLS`
options to control the minimum and maximum TLS versions
that will be allowed, respectively (Issue #5119)
* The scheduler did not write out dirty configuration and
state files if there were open client connections (Issue #5118)
* The `lpadmin` command now provides a better error message when
an unsupported System V interface script is used (Issue #5111)
* No longer support backslash, question mark, or quotes
in printer names (Issue #4966)
* The CUPS library now supports the latest HTTP Digest
authentication specification including support

Version update (3.2.4 -> 3.3.0)

set to localhost

* Add %license macro.
* Set license to IPL-1.0 OR EPL-2.0.
- Update to 3.3.0
* http://cdn.postfix.johnriley.me/mirrors/postfix-release/official/postfix-3.…
* Dual license: in addition to the historical IBM Public License
1.0, Postfix is now also distributed with the more recent Eclipse
Public License 2.0. Recipients can choose to take the software
under the license of their choice. Those who are more comfortable
with the IPL can continue with that license.
* The postconf command now warns about unknown parameter names
in a Postfix database configuration file. As with other unknown
parameter names, these warnings can help to find typos early.
* Container support: Postfix 3.3 will run in the foreground with
"postfix start-fg". This requires that Postfix multi-instance
support is disabled (the default). To collect Postfix syslog
information on the container's host, mount the host's /dev/log
socket into the container, for example with "docker run -v
/dev/log:/dev/log ...other options...", and specify a distinct
Postfix syslog_name setting in the container (for example with
"postconf syslog_name=the-name-here").
* Milter support: applications can now send RET and ENVID parameters
in SMFIR_CHGFROM (change envelope sender) requests.
* Postfix-generated From: headers with 'full name' information
are now formatted as "From: name <address>" by default. Specify
"header_from_format = obsolete" to get the earlier form "From:
address (name)".
* Interoperability: when Postfix IPv6 and IPv4 support are both
enabled, the Postfix SMTP client will now relax MX preferences
and attempt to schedule similar numbers of IPv4 and IPv6
addresses. This works around mail delivery problems when a
destination announces lots of primary MX addresses on IPv6, but
is reachable only over IPv4 (or vice versa). The new behavior
is controlled with the smtp_balance_mx_inet_protocols parameter.
* Compatibility safety net: with compatibility_level < 1, the
Postfix SMTP server now warns for mail that would be blocked
by the Postfix 2.10 smtpd_relay_restrictions feature, without
blocking that mail. There still is a steady trickle of sites
that upgrade from an earlier Postfix version.

- the upstream systemd unit file was changed to no longer write the
rsyslog pid, as it is no longer required for tracking under
systemd (-iNONE). Adjust rsyslog-unit.patch to match.
- Use %license instead of %doc [bsc#1082318]
- fix includes for apparmor profile (bsc#1080238)
==== ruby2.5 ====

dump-version.rb
==== sane-backends ====
Subpackages: sane-backends-autoconfig
- Drop BuildRequires for libieee1284-devel and libieee1284
which is only needed for some parallel port scanners
but parallel port scanners are no longer supported
so that the backends canon_pp, hpsj5s, and mustek_pp
are no longer provided.
- Fixed installation of systemd unit files saned@.service
and saned.socket that enable socket based saned activation
which replaces xinetd (boo#1074054).
==== sddm ====
Subpackages: sddm-branding-openSUSE

gdm and lightdm:

a possibility to overflow the stack (bsc#1085004, CVE-2018-1000097).

Subpackages: spectacle-lang

platform plugin:
* 0001-Decide-to-use-the-wayland-backend-by-looking-at-XDG_.patch
==== sysconfig ====
Subpackages: sysconfig-netconfig
- Use %license instead of %doc [bsc#1082318]
==== systemd ====
Subpackages: libsystemd0 libudev1 libudev1-32bit systemd-32bit systemd-bash-completion systemd-sysvinit udev
- Rename the tarball to reflect the exact version used (bsc#1087323)
So it's clear that it contains some additional patches on top of the
upstream version. Use the commit hash in the name so the exact
version can easily be identified.
Provide _service file which can be used to retrieve the tarball from
the git repo (with "osc service disabledrun").
- Import commit b83c42d5d91a5ace2b4aa7420e83c98292e6f9e3
a59988ee5 sysusers: make sure to reset errno before calling fget*ent()
98ddbf6b3 sysusers: also add support for NIS entries in /etc/shadow
586c08f63 sysusers: do not append entries after the NIS ones (bsc#1085062 bsc#1045092)
3993df26a compat-rules: fix error detected by the rule syntax checker
- Don't ship machines.target in systemd-container but in systemd main package
machines.target is supposed to be a standard target for
starting/stopping all containers. systemd-nspawn is the main user of
it but other container managers could also make use of it.
- Create systemd-container-mini package
So we don't have to manually track and remove all files that should
be shipped by systemd-container in the case of a bootstrap build.
- Run migrate-sysconfig-i18n.sh also during package installation (bsc#1086164)
This is needed when we upgrade from SLE11.
- Split systemd-container sub-package off (fate#325469)
This split off has been in Factory/TW since a couple of weeks now
without any reported problems and I think it makes also sense to
have it in SLE.

==== autogen ====
Subpackages: libopts-devel libopts25

system, which results in an implicit call. That in turn only
works as long as the automake/autconf version is the same as used
when originally bootrapping the tarball.

functionality covered by file triggers.

[opensuse-factory] Qt 5.10.1 still hasn't come, what's the delay reason
by Mykola Krachkovsky 01 Apr '18
by Mykola Krachkovsky 01 Apr '18
01 Apr '18
Hi,
Just curious, why minor/bugfix update hasn't come Tumbleweed yet? It is in
KDE:Qt.10, but not KDE:Qt5 or openSUSE:Factory. It looks like only
Qt5WebEngine was updated to 5.10.1. Are there any problems or just people are
busy?

Kind regards,
Mykola Krachkovsky
