[opensuse-factory] Can't play mp3 files in Amarok

Hello! After lastest updates in Tumbleweed I can't play mp3 files with Amarok or Clementine, but VLC works fine. If I launch Amarok via CLI I get this: "Phonon::GStreamer::Backend: Failed to initialize GStreamer WARNING: Phonon::createPath: Cannot connect Phonon::MediaObject ( no objectName ) to Phonon::AudioDataOutput ( no objectName ). WARNING: Phonon::createPath: Cannot connect Phonon::MediaObject ( no objectName ) to Phonon::AudioOutput ( no objectName ). " With Clementine I get this: "GStreamer could not create the element: audioconvert. Please make sure that you have installed all necessary GStreamer plugins (e.g. OGG and MP3)" Any clue about this? [opensuse-factory] Rethinking packaging vagrant: Build for multiple ruby versions (almost) like a normal rubygem

Crosspost on factory and packaging, please reply to factory... ###### Good evening everybody, over the last couple of months I have been on and off with an alternative approach to package vagrant. First off: This might not the bee's knees and the best way of packaging this. I also do not want to be rude to Duncan, Robert or the others that have taken care of vagrant so far. I just wanted to put it out there and get some opinions, if this might be a feasible approach for the future. For those not familiar with vagrant's packaging, the current package - creates a rubygem in %build and then packages it for the default ruby version hardcoded in the spec file and - ignore's vagrants requirement for ruby2.2 so it is installable on Leap 42.* which has ruby2.1. I had some issues getting the plugin installation to work, and found some things that I (as a not-ruby-expert) thought might be because of this 2.1-vs-2.2 thing. But how to solve this issue for Leap 42.2, which only has ruby2.1? Yesterday (I hope) I got the builds working: home:ojkastl_buildservice:Vagrant Basically, you can install vagrant in the flavour for the ruby version of your choice, which let's you install it with ruby2.4 on TW and ruby2.2 on Leap. Or ruby2.3 or ruby2.5. All dependencies that I found so far have been put into that project and have being modified, where needed, to also build for more than one ruby version. In my tests this worked, but then again one change somewhere and everything falls apart... ;-) Where possible I tried to narrow down the requirements so there should not be any "have choice" errors. But, as each package actually is five packages (one for each ruby in ruby{1,2,3,4,5}) with one status (successful or failed). Disclaimer: Due to the nature of ruby packages on the OBS it might happen occasionally, that during updating or adding packages, some of them might not get built for all ruby versions but are being shown as successful in the webUI. So, in case you think there is something missing, give me a call. (And, just to avoid misunderstandings, I think the way to build ruby packages on OBS is pretty cunning, even if there are corner cases now and then.) [opensuse-factory] last kernel update of leap seems to break Intel Grapics on an ironlake (at least makes it very instable).

After the update today I have frequent total blackscreens with subsequent shutdown of the system. This can be triggered with getty (alt+ctl+Fn). After a few switches, one after the other the users go black. Finally the system goes down. The system is a Lenovo X201 Ironlake Intel and had already problems with drm- kms-default package that had to be uninstalled. Now it seems that even without it... same issue. [opensuse-factory] About Leap maintenance : bsc not authorized

There's an increase in the number of bsc bnc boo related to Maintenance import from SLE on Leap. Most of the ticket, which would be the source of informations are hidden (even after a login as normal openSUSE user). So we forbid users to have a look at the changes, which is not in favor of chain of trust and openess attitude. So would it be possible to have a damn bot, with simple rights which should reject any submission to Leap if issues are not opened ? Back in time, there was discussion, that lead to if a bsc is closed for good reason (customer data in), a new duplicate issue has to be opened and all anonymous should goes there. hello, when I do, just this morning, a "zypper dup --no-allow-vendor-change --no-recommends" I get nearly 100 times the following additional output. This is only the last line of several other Packages. [opensuse-factory] Gnome 3.26 upgrade not working (blank login screen)

I was hoping I could be giving some points as to how to debug this / get more useful information for this mailing list. After upgrading to gnome 3.26 and restarting, the login screen failed to display. I'm just left with a black screen with the mouse cursor displaying (and able to move). I've rolled back to my previous snapshot for now. [opensuse-factory] Managed to lock kmail with reply

Hi I've got problem that i cannot seem to escape from. I replied to the TUmbleweed snapshot email for 201709013 and tried to "snip" out most of it by pressing Ctrl A to highlight all the text so i could delete it. THe problem is that its now gone into some sort of vacuum with the kmail main window and the reply window open but i'm unable to do anything. I cannot kill the reply window without killing the main window and if i do and reload kmail both windows open again but i only get the window title bar and the borders of the window. How can i kill the reply window so i can get kmail back? Is there a way to install Nvidia CUDA on Tumbleweed? (The official download site https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads lists only openSUSE 13.2, SLES 11 SP4 and 2. On https://software.opensuse.org/package/cuda-8.0 there are unofficial packages from the Bumblebeed project. I have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 750, which supports H.264, but not H.265 over VDPAU.) I tried the openSUSE 13.2 packages. [opensuse-factory] Questionable mirrors

I am always fighting with mirrors. I supect it is because I am in Sweden and I get sent to bad local mirrors. As an example, I want to add the package dbview to Leap 42.3 It seems I am getting sent to: http://ftp.acc.umu.se/mirror/opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/oss/s… Which at this very moment is empty (at least as I see it...). This is not the only such mirror. So when I am, say, trying to build OS images with KIWI, it takes weeks to get needed files as I keep getting sent to odd mirrors. [opensuse-factory] kmail hangs with 100% CPU

Since the KDEPIM update in August akonadi would at random times start using up CPU and had some errors in the mysql error log about deadlocks. So I moved the ~/.local/share/akonadi directory aside and let it create a new one. That worked and it also seemed to have indexed some stuff that for whatever reason it hadn't before. However, kmail now completely freaks out when encountering large folders (they're local maildirs) and just hangs with 100% CPU and no further reaction. It doesn't appear to try and communicate with akonadi or anything else, it just hangs. Sometimes it tells it has either threaded or processed some large percentage of the entries (however the total number doesn't match what's in the folder), but there is absolutely no reaction to whatever attempts at leaving the folder or anything else. The largest folder that still works has 4091 entries, the next size up that fails is 5506 mails (about 200 of that are in a sub-folder, though). So I've moved the old directory back and I can use these folders again. The wierd background activity from mysqld (CPU + I/O, both can be stopped by doing an "akonadictl restart", but will return after some activity in kmail) is back as are these errors in mysql.err: 2017-09-10 18:52:16 7f5328a0fb00 InnoDB: Error: Fetch of persistent statistics requested for table "akonadi"."tagtypetable" but the required system tables mysql.innodb_table_stats and mysql.innodb_index_stats are not present or have unexpected structure. Using transient stats instead. 2017-09-10 18:53:32 7f530abff700 InnoDB: Error: Column last_update in table "mysql"."innodb_table_stats" is INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL but should be BINARY(4) NOT NULL (type mismatch). Does anybody have an idea what is going on and how to fix it properly?
