Hi I am a bit unsure on what is the right way of packaging webapps. Quite many webapps uses /srv/www/htdocs/<webapp> But I don't think it is right to install OS provided php code in the wwwroot. I would say /srv/www/<webapp> is more appropriate or /usr/share/webapp and then a apache config making a alias (e.g. kopano does that, more the Debian way I would say?). Hello, [1] provides a list of packages which are not building for Leap 42.2, e.g. due to unsatisfied dependencies. For some(most) of these a package for Tumbleweed exists and it seems mainly an issue of updating the package for Leap 42.2 e.g. on this list the reason given for kdevelop4 is "nothing provides kscreen < 5.3.0 needed by kdebase4-workspace". The current Leap 42.2 snapshot contains kscreen5-5.7.0-1.2 The current Tumbleweed snapshot contains kscreen5-5.7.0-1.1, and it contains kdevelop4-4.7.3-3.1. I just want to point this out in order to avoid accidental gaps in the final release. If there is a plan to perform these updates at a later time please ignore this post. After a few days trying I went back to the proven Windows method: a completely new installation. That solved that particular problem, but I forgot to save the logs. Sorry. and also for the delayed reaction. @ Ju Ping: no problems in that area. The new installation is not completely bug free either, however: Installation: -After configuring the WiFi card, the system can not apply the details. It marks this as a bug and advises reporting. Manual set-up after installation succeeds. This happened also in the previous installation but I did not mention it. Running: -YAST does not react to RPM files; when called by the link, it starts in the panel but closes down without opening a window or providing info. -Graph mode does not give the option to change user, e.g. to root. Previous installation was OK in this. -After confirming, closedown and reboot in graph mode take between 10 and up to abt 40 secs before anything visible happens; then sometimes the text welcome screen appears and closedown has to be done from there or by hard reset. As I am lazy, I choose the latter. This is not a consistent occurrence. It is identical to ianseeks' report. Both processes take a long time, especially when not all windows are closed yet. General: As 13.1/2 was the latest standard version from which I jumped from there to Tumbleweed I make comparisons in that relation. The following remarks may therefore be trivial. -Start-up is very slow compared to 13.1. After Starting Switch Root there is a long time a lot of disk activity. If a machine is the whole day on, that is not a problem, but when one has to close down the laptop a lot of times in one day (e.g. visiting customers), it becomes a bit annoying. Isn't it possible to load files, that for start-up are not really essential, delayed? -The start-up of individual programs also invokes a lot of disk activity and is quite less fast than in 13.x -Asking for new card decks in kpatience links to new wallpapers, not decks. I have now three times made a clean installation of Tumbleweed, once for just having a look, a second time for real that after updating brought up my YAST bug and this one. For whatever reason, each installation ended with slightly different settings, although the machine is the same. A last remark: Although I have been using Linux and Suse since almost 20 years, in this I want to be looking from the point of view of an average user, who has no deep knowledge of solving problems. This usage pattern of course also eases the life of a system administrator. The consideration of this point of view has been too much neglected in all Linux versions; the elitair thinking of "if you don't know how to do it in text, then stay with Widose" has prevented the expansion of Linux in the less-dedicated user area who does/can not use textmode commands. It is refreshing to see that Opensuse is making the effort to change that, although it principally an industrial variant of Linux. HI For the last 2 evenings, I’ve ended up with a login prompt instead of the machine shutting down. I've had a look at the logs via journalctl for the period where I started the shutdown from the login screen but no red lines or errors show up. Any ideas where else I can look? Also, I wonder whether the minimal X selection adds much value. Discussion about setting up remote administration using YaST on firums draw my attention. There are rough edges, but when at the end user is able to log in, depending on display manager logind session is ether Remote=yes (xdm) or Remote=no (lightdm). The problem is, logind apparently does not allow multiple local graphical sessions for the same user, in particular concurrent login using lightdm on local console and over Xvnc connection. Thanks to this license change, it was added to openSUSE:Factory last year. But it was not removed from openSUSE:Factory:NonFree. So currently, there are two POV-rays: one in openSUSE:Factory (OSS repository) and one in openSUSE:Factory:NonFree (Non-OSS repository). Delete request 416171 (https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/416171) aims to remove POV-ray from openSUSE:Factory:NonFree. Please review. The authentication of the server host key prevents exploitation by a man-in-the-middle, so this information leak is restricted to connections to malicious or compromised servers. MITIGATION: For OpenSSH >= 5.4 the vulnerable code in the client can be completely disabled by adding 'UseRoaming no' to the gobal ssh_config(5) file, or to user configuration in ~/.ssh/config, or by passing -oUseRoaming=no on the command line.
