[opensuse-factory] Chromium is looking for a new maintainer

Hi Folks, Due to personal reasons, I will be dropping my packaging activities for openSUSE. In the 8 years that I was contributing to openSUSE, I witness quite some ups and downs. However it has always been a great pleasure in helping the enthusiastic community that surrounds openSUSE and I am sure that Leap and Tumbleweed are well being taken care off. In those 8 years I have mainly been active in the KDE area, but there are two other packages that would require a new maintainer. The first one is a simple one, but still important to the whole KDE search structure. This is the Xapian package with its bindings. The second one has become a monster of its one and that is the Chromium web browser. This one is quite hard to handle as that we have some particular patches, but it also faces a lot of issues when building due to memory and disk consumption. Also it has almost all required libraries in-source and removing those would cause build failures as that system versions might not have a particular patch. This week I will still be working on getting the chromium-dev variant in a good shape as that Google introduced a new build system. It looks like I managed to get it working, but lets see. Hi Todd, I would love to get llvm-38, llvm-39, … packages similar to the GCC ones. Currently I cannot update Clang that was shipped with Leap, because the X server is a dependency to this version - quite annoying. Last time I asked about this topic, openSuse's Clang maintainer Ismail Donmez told me, he was working on Clang packages which live in /opt. Talk to him prior to starting your work. [opensuse-factory] Enlightenment Library changes in Leap and Factory

Hi All, Thanks to some upstream changes in the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries (efl) the packages elementary, evas-generic-loaders and emotion-generic-players are now built as part of efl as such I will be deleting those three packages from openSUSE:Factory and Leap:42.2 as I now submit the new version (1.18). [opensuse-factory] how to provide packages in home repo on each git commit but submit same package to Factory?

Yesterday I continued my openSUSE contribution newbie experiment and tried to submit python-openqa_review to Factory. My package https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:okurz/python-openqa_review is in devel:languages:python already https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/devel:languages:python/python-openq… The Factory submission was declined because services in "_services" are still enabled. What is the best approach how to keep services enabled for my home: repo to update on each commit in github but allow factory submission? * Should I request maintainership of the package in d:l:p and disable every service in this package but not in home:okurz? * Do I need to redo this step everytime I want to submit a new released version to d:l:p? * Can this be automated? Hi Does anyone know how i can roll back kmail and related software? Its currently impossible to work with as it crashes so much for me at the moment. I've tried the work around but that does not work for me either as it does not load kmail.
