[opensuse-factory] Leap 42.1 weird fonts (mosly konsole) after last week's update

Hi, I will report a bug, but wanted to check here first if anyone sees this. I noticed this last weekend, that (I think) after one of last week's updates, some applications (I noticed in Java Ide Netbeans) changed fonts. Then I noticed that konsole shows things like: mzimmermann@home-server:~/airlift-syus/syus-cloud/projects/syus-on-cubifier> date ᓕ ᕕᕗ 2 11:18:50 EST 2016 Changing font in the konsole profile does not help Anyone sees something similar? [opensuse-factory] [TW] multi-monitor setup with KDE on Radeon HD 7700/7800 since Kernel 4.4 broken

Hello openSUSE bleeding-edge lovers, since the update a few weeks ago from Kernel 4.3 to 4.4 my multi-monitor setup with KDE is broken. Unfortunately, I haven't had any time investigating further until now but configured grub2 to only boot into Kernel 4.3.3-6 to keep my system running. I can't remember whether the switch to KDE5 was before or after that. How is it broken? After login, the KDE splash-screen (with logo and progress bar bouncing between top and bottom into the center) gets stuck somewhere in that bouncing. Each time at another position. After that, nothing happens any more. I have to switch to tty0, login as root, remove /home/USER/.local/share/kscreen/SOME_HASH_NAMED_FILE and reboot. The screens are then back to defaults (both at (0,0) with the resolution of the smaller monitor). The bigger, primary monitor is connected via HDMI-0 and the smaller via DVI-0. $ sudo lspci -s 01:00 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Cape Verde PRO [Radeon HD 7750/8740 / R7 250E] I've found out, that the issue is having two monitors with different resolution placed side-by-side. Having them both positioned in (0,0) but different resolutions is working fine. However, with a newly created "virgin" test user it works flawless side-by- side. Does anyone know of a solution without starting from scratch (i.e. complete fresh installation of Tumbleweed)? I already removed all of ~/.kde4 and most of .config and .local/share (not the things related to baloo, akonadi and kdepim). All the best, Torbjoern

[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed – Review of the week 2016/4 & 5

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, Last week I slacked and missed to post the review. I will cover both weeks now, covering the snapshots 0126, 0128, 0130 and the just to be released 0203. As you already see from the number of snapshots, we had a lower pace than we’re used to – it was 4 snapshots in 1 week, now it’s in 2 weeks. Reasons for that are mostly that OBS seems to have quite some trouble in churning packages. Despite there being a queue, a lot of workers were idle. On PPC64LE it even seems as if the queue is not getting any smaller at all. So, what did those 4 snapshots bring us (are just about to bring us): * KDE Applications 15.12.1, as promised. It should be complete. * KDEPIM5 is now set as default in the patterns * Systemd 228 (in snapshot 0203). NOTE: we have seen some cases where the network intarfaces change between predictable and persistent names, notably when updating from 13.2 to TW. Be aware of this when updating. * The CD Images can be written to USB again and are bootable. The defective driver has been fixed. * PulseAudio 8.0 Quite some changes… and more currently living in stagings. [opensuse-factory] UI font corruption

I have no idea if this has anything to do with KDE3, but its DE and KDM3 are the only places I've seen this: http://fm.no-ip.com/SS/Suse/r128kde3-120.jpg And, I've only seen it on one system, as a result of testing the fix to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91358 . As I have only the one r128 gfxcard, I don't know a way to isolate it to hardware. The corruption in the SS does not appear in either xterm or firefox running IceWM on the same TW machine, and I've seen no such corruption on any other TW/KDE3 installation. The prior r128 driver in TW is totally non-functional. Also, X wouldn't even start until booting the 4.4.0 kernel. With 4.3.x, X tried to start, then exited before painting any of the DE, and I couldn't tell why[1]. Any ideas what else to try to find out where fault might lie? [opensuse-factory] a stop job is running for X Display manager

Hello, I have a problem that hit me specially because I just did some edits on my config and so had to reboot often. I get this message: "a stop job is running for X Display manager" with a 95s (1:35 mn) counter. This is a recurrent problem (?), found everywhere on the net, but with no visible solution. I had it today both with Leap and 13.2 (same computer, of course different disk/partition). Some time ago I had the same, but at start. I wondered if it was not some fsck?
