[opensuse-factory] Defining a process and acceptance criteria for contributing openQA tests

Hi all, since we as the Yast team decided to increase our test coverage, we were creating and submitting several tests to openQA in the past and we would like to continue doing that. In some cases it felt quite complicated to get those tests merged and running in the official instances. To make contribution of tests easier and more straightforward I think it would be helpful to define some rules and methods about - how to handle differences between openSUSE and SLE in regards of testing. - how to keep the balance between test coverage and testing speed means: which tests should go into which test suites or maybe even a better definition of what all the test suites are actually supposed to be good for. - define a coding style in regards of how things should be done, e.g defining/checking for ENVs vs. check_screen, when to soft fail vs. die() etc. Clearly defined rules make it easier to avoid discussions in PRs since people involved might currently have different opinions how a proper test should look like. So I suggest to set up a meeting to discuss and write down a first version of an openQA contribution manifest. I think the right people wo that should be from QA (rbrown?), openSUSE (coolo?), SLEPOS (nadvornik?) and YaST (myself) - anyone else interested? Originally it has python-plaso as an SR that would not install due to dependency issue. I've revoked that SR a week or more ago. I don't see any other blocker. Is there something else I need to do? Hi, recently I've been made aware that other distributions are adopting %license convention for tagging package licenses. Technically this seems to be the same like %doc except that it copies to %_defaultlicensedir instead of %_defaultdocdir. with other words %license FOO will copy FOO file to /usr/share/licenses/%name/FOO What are the opinions around that? Since I'm collaborating packaging with non-openSUSE distributions, I'd like to switch to that globally. unfortunately this seems to be entirely broken on older distros, but thats a 2nd step to take care of. An alternative would be to redefine %defaultlicensedir to %docdir, which would make install the file in the old location, and we could use %license and %doc interchangeably. I wanted to make sure we're aligned on this prior to discussing htis with the openSUSE spec file reviewer team. Thanks to all who helped, and for the locale pointer, and my apologies for a misunderstanding of the reason, and wasting time of the list.. My locale was apparently set to iu_CA ("Inuktitut language locale for Nunavut, Canada"). I have no recollection setting it to that value or any value in the last 2 weeks, but I might have, being in Canada. Apart from updates, I installed GNUCash and a few editors (nano, joe) recently. Not sure any of these could make the change in user locale. My appologies again, I should have thought about locale to start with, I remember I checked but only looked at the flag, and missed the "iu" element. [opensuse-factory] Error while building Nodejs (5.4.1)

I am trying to build nodejs (5.4.1) via OBS on SUSE_SLE-12-SP1_GA.
