I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask.
I notice that "ecryptfs" (or "ecryptfs-utils") is missing from Milestone 2.
Can anything be done to include it in time for the final release.
There's other missing software that I can probably manage without. But I have
built the use of "ecryptfs" into the way that I handle personal data. So I
would really miss it. I'm not particularly concerned whether it comes from
the SLE version of "ecryptfs" or the Tumbleweed version

spamassassin did not update using zypper up.
Also perl-base did not update because a noarch module perl-DateTime-Format-
ISO8601-0.08-1.2.noarch requires a lower version of perl.

Hi All,
I find SUSEStudio a useful tool for testing enlightenment as I can
install it from a Devel repo and test out new changes that may require
real hardware to test such as Backlights etc, so is it possible to
create a SUSE Studio image based off Milestone 2 and if so is there a
guide on how to do this.
Cheers

[opensuse-factory] Proposal - Change display manager for minimal X install to lightdm
by Simon Lees 06 Sep '15
by Simon Lees 06 Sep '15
06 Sep '15
Hi all,
Was just testing openSUSE:Leap milestone 2 and I ran into the following
issue, I wanted to use enlightenment as my DE so I did a minimal X
install loaded up yast after the first boot and installed enlightenment.
I then rebooted and was presented with xdm which has no way to change
the DE other then editing /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager, so rather then
doing this I tried installing another lightweight DM. First I tried sddm
which claims to be light weight, but currently pulls in all of plasma so
instead I installed lightdm. After rebooting xdm still came up so i had
to go edit /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager.
From my point of view having to edit a file in /etc/sysconfig is not
user friendly so this should be fixed, there are 2 ways that I could
think of doing this.
1. When installing a new Display Manager or maybe even Window Manager
the files in /etc/sysconfig automatically get updated (Some users
probably won't want this, also significant effort)
2. Modify the Minimal X11 Pattern to install lightdm or another
lightweight dm that allows the selection of window managers at run time.
(Lightdm doesn't have any significant dependencies, I guess this would
probably break some openQA tests though).
Cheers

Hi all,
xdg-utils is broken for enlightenment on openSUSE Leap, as enlightenment
is detected but has no action defined for xdg-terminal, xdg-su. this
makes it impossible to launch yast without first opening a terminal.
There are 2 solutions, either works fine for me so you can choose.
1. Take the xdg-utils package from factory which already has a patch to
fix the issue (already upstreamed but not released)
2. Apply the following patch to the SLE version of xdg-utils (As far as
i'm aware enlightenment isn't available on SLE)
https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/openSUSE:Factory/xdg-utils/fix…
Cheers

Hi *,
I have a (new) problem with custom shortcuts in KDE 5.
I can create new custom shortcuts, but they don't work, i.e. nothing
happens when the defined keys are pressed.
All existing custom shortcuts are still working.
I don't know exactly, which Tumbleweed snapshot caused this problem,
because I could create working shortcuts for some time. At the moment I
use a system with the latest snapshot.
I checked the files khotkeysrc and kglobalshortcutsrc and both of them
look as I would expect them. I compared the working entries with those
not working and can see no difference.
The contents of these files survive logoff or reboot, so this is not the
problem some people described in a few variations in the past.
Any hint for this problem?
Thx.
Bye.
Michael.

1.52 2015-04-15
[MISCELLANEOUS]
Changes to the test suite to make it run better with Postgres thanks
to Greg Sabino Mullane.
1.51_4 2015-01-18
[BUG FIXES]
Numerous errors in the test suite (with SQLite ODBC driver) mostly down to not
creating the test table first.
[MISCELLANEOUS]
Try and make the test suite run ok for SQLite ODBC driver so I can use it
in travis-ci.
1.51_3 2015-01-17
[BUG FIXES]
RT101579 - using bound input parameters for numeric columns (e.g.,
SQL_NUMERIC) only works the first time and will quite likey fail
with "string data, right truncation" on the second and subsequent
calls to execute. Thanks to Laura Cox for finding.
1.51_2 2014-11-19
[BUG FIXES]
The table_info method (ANSI version only) was incorrectly passing
the table name for the type argument. I think this bug was
introduced last year.
1.51_1 2014-11-14
[BUG FIXES]
RT100186 - handle VARBINARY(MAX) parameters with SQL Server native
client. Identify "libmsodbcsql*" as the MS ODBC Driver for Linux as
there are some specific workarounds for MS Native Client ODBC driver.
1.50 2014-07-25
[BUG FIXES]
The 80_odbc_diags.t test could fail if a driver fails a table does
not exist test in the prepare instead of the execute.
1.49_4 2014-07-08
[BUG FIXES]
Fixed sql_type_cast.t test which assumed column aliases which stay
lowercase.
Fixed 87_odbc_lob_read.t test which did not bow out of the test
properly if the database was not MS SQL Server.
[DOCUMENTATION]
Revised the query notification example and documentation.
Added a link to a better Query Notification article.
1.49_3 2014-05-01
[CHANGE IN BEHAVIOUR]
As warned years ago, this release removes the odbc_old_unicode attribute.
If you have a good reason to use it speak up now before the next non-development
release.
[BUG FIXES]
Fix rt89255: Fails to create test table for tests using PostgreSQL odbc driver.
Change test suite to fallback on PRECISION if COLUMN_SIZE is not found.
[ENHANCEMENTS]
Added support for MS SQL Server Query Notification. See the new
section in the pod.
Added a currently undocumented (and experimental)
odbc_describe_param method on a statement handle which takes a
parameter number as the only argument and returns an array of the
data type, parameter size, decimal digits and nullable (as per
SQLDescribeParam).
[DOCUMENTATION]
Added FAQ on truncated column names with freeTDS.
[MISCELLANEOUS]
I have removed the "experimental" tag for odbc_getdiagfield and odbc_getdiagrec
methods.
1.49_2 2014-04-26
[BUG FIXES]
Change to data_sources in 1.49_1 could lead to a compile error since
data_sources was not returning a value if an error occurred.
1.49_1 2014-04-25
[BUG FIXES]
If you had a lot of DSNs on Windows (more than 280 but it depends on
the length of their names) and called the data_sources method it
could crash your script. Code internally changed to stop putting the DSNs
returned on the stack.
[CHANGE IN BEHAVIOUR]
As warned years ago, the private data_sources method has been
removed - use DBI one instead.
[MISCELLANEOUS]
Added FAQ entry of maximum number of allowed parameters.

Either the package requires catdoc, then the package is required, or it
does not... installing stuff on any system with broken deps is not
healthy attitude. 'Recommends' is the easy fix: we can block it out on
the live CD without breaking deps, and a standard setup would still get
it installed.
Splitting catdoc into pieces would of course also be a possibility...
whoever comes first with a workable solution wins :)

[opensuse-factory] How to check this pgp message for correctnes? (leap42.1 milestone2 info)
by cagsm 04 Sep '15
by cagsm 04 Sep '15
04 Sep '15
hi there, wanted to check the bran nu leap milestone2 iso and the
directory comes with a pgp message that has the sha256 sum inside.
the sha256 inside the pgp message and the .iso's sha256 are the same
so it seems legit only question remains how do i make sense of the pgp
message itself.
i somehow cannot gpg --verify filename.sha256 as it tells me there is
no public key.
leap milestone2 is here:
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.1-Milestone2/iso/openSUSE…
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.1-Milestone2/iso/openSUSE…
and the iso:
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.1-Milestone2/iso/openSUSE…
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.1-Milestone2/iso/openSUSE…
So just to make sure, i know how to sha256 iso.file.iso, thats not the
trouble here. how do i verify the legitimacy of the .sha256 files
content which seems like a pgp signed email or posting of some sort.
thanks.
