Hello list, Firefox has been complaining about an insecure flash-player version for a while now. I've been ignoring it for the most part and just did a zypper up every day in wait for a newer version. Now I am growing suspicious, there should be new version by now and a search on software.opensuse.org confirms my suspicion. Hi, I need some help in where to start with kscreenlocker_greet crashes. Running tumbleweed with the latest updates. Frameworks Version 5.10.0 Plasma 5-workspace 5.31-3.1 NVidia driver 352.21 I can start the computer and use my account with no problem. [opensuse-factory] cryptsetup in rescue as well as in dracut do not work

Hi, during debugging I had done an update of dracut which had lead to a broken initrd which does not ask for passphrase anymore. After trying the rescue mode of the latest Factory ISO image I've seen that cryptsetup open --type luks /dev/sda2 myroot ask the passphrase and then hanges around for ever. However, this did get sidetracked rather quickly, thus, please focus on naming … [View More]only. - - Not all questions for the new release have been answered, we do not need to revisit this. Some answers will only emerge as the baby starts to crawl and then walk.... - - Just because Stephan will take on the release manager responsibilities of a distro around the SLE sources does not preclude another person or team to build/release... a distro based on Factory snapshots. As the distribution is a representation of the project as a whole, i.e. all contributors, I think it is fair that people get an opportunity to weigh in with their concerns. This view may not be shared by everyone, so please bare with the rest of us as your mailbox once again fills up ;) However, to those participating in the discussion please focus on the name not on side issues. It has been advocated in other threads that a vote on the name should be considered as the final solution. There are reasonable arguments for and against such a direction. Thus, lets not focus on the voting part at this point either, lets just focus on the name and see where the discussion goes. If this should or should not be voted on can be a separate discussion once we collectively understand the concerns people have with respect to the name. In a "thread renaming" post we have had the following suggestion: * openSUSE Oak """" So how about Oak? It's a solid tree, it fits with the green theme and it will give us: * openSUSE Tumbleweed * openSUSE Oak """" "openSLES" has also been suggested a few times but lets just say that we will probably run afoul with a number of legal restrictions. Plus it is not really SLES, it is based on SLES sources and not a verbatim build of the SLES sources. My suggestion would be to focus on the name while considering that we should not create a name that would produce a potential conflict as described in [2], also consider the reply [3] So please lets focus on the name the child might have. State your case for the name you propose, include in the proposal a numbering scheme, if you think we should stick with numbers. Staring at 1 for a numbering scheme has rather obvious disadvantages, all other numbers are probably equally arbitrary, but you can certainly state the case why the number being proposed is favorable. I propose the above as the guidelines for the naming discussion. I will add my personal opinion about the name as a follow up post. Lets see if I can manage to stay within my own proposed guidelines ;) I apologize to those that are subscribed to both the -factory and the - -project list. However I know that there are a number of people that are not following -project but follow -factory, thus the cross post. As I mentioned, I believe that the distribution represents all of us and thus everyone should have their chance to weigh in on the name given to the baby that represents the community. [opensuse-factory] Force non-interactive fsck on btrfs / at next reboot

OSS 13.2 tumbleweed with kernel 4.1.1-1.ga46abf6-desktop and btrfs-progs v4.1+20150622. Storage is all one big btrfs /. How can one setup the system to run a fsck, and non-interactively repair any errors, at the next reboot? All I can find on The Net is the touch /forcefsck stuff which does not seem to work at all. Found the suggestion of using the -d switch in zypper dup a good idea. Tried to use it but the -d switch was not recognized. Looked through the help without spotting this switch. Hi I used to be able to have a script run on logout, i've had to configure to run on "Shutdown" as the only options are "Startup, Shutdown and pre KDE Startup" - are there any plans for there to be a "run script on logout" which i could use on KDE4? HI I've had this a few times now but i can't reproduce at will. The first time i experienced it was when i was using Vivaldi a few weeks ago, as soon as it loaded to full screen, the whole screen flashed on and off about 10 times (too fast to count) and every program after that did the same thing when loading or context switching to another program. We don't offer digested lists for several reasons: 1) Most of our lists (especially this one) are far to large to make digests useful. Are you really going to read an ~500K email once per day? Yes, it's the same amount that you would receive on as separate mail but it's easy to delete or skip messages that don't interest you in that case; it's not with a digest. 2) In our experience, digests tend to decrease the quality of list postings. They do this by encouraging the sorts of behaviors that are often considered rude or in poor 'netiquette': replying to mail with the incorrect subject header or other headers that make it impossible for threaded mail clients to work properly, replying to mail without reading the entire thread first, and probably more. Of course, people who do things like this are often the cause of huge flame wars about proper netiquette that can go on for days, often with the result of having very helpful and knowledgeable people leaving the list in disgust. 3) Usually, when people request digests what they are really asking for is a way to keep the list mail from flooding their mailbox and making it harder to find and read non-list mail. This is a valid concern and one that is best handled with mail filtering, not digests. If your system is configured to use procmail to deliver mail locally (SuSE's postfix and sendmail packages are) all you need to do is create a file in your home directory named '.procmailrc' that contains something like the following: MAILDIR=$HOME/Mail # where do you keep your mail? DEFAULT=$MAILDIR/inbox # what's you default mail box? # if mail is from list put it in $MAILDIR/foo :0 * ^X-Mailing-List: <listname> $MAILDIR/foo Everything else will be placed in $DEFAULT. By default, procmail creates a normal mbox formatted mail box so if you want to copy the file somewhere (e.g., to a PDA) you only need to, in the above example, copy $MAILDIR/sle.
