[opensuse-factory] Orphaned packages

Hello all I installed openSUSE-13.2-DVD-Build0011-i586.iso tonight on a old HP laptop and things appear fine except for the fact that there appears to be a lot of orphaned packages... Can anyone else confirm this? # uname -a Linux nc6120.13.2 3.11.6-4-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Oct 30 18:04:56 UTC 2013 (e6d4a27) i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux # cat /proc/version Linux version 3.11.10-21-desktop (geeko@buildhost) (gcc version 4.8.1 20130909 [gcc-4_8-branch revision 202388] (SUSE Linux) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jul 21 15:28:46 UTC 2014 (9a9565d) Checking for orphaned packages... nc6120: # zypper packages --orphaned | wc -l 1476 The same version of the x_86-64 DVD installation (i.e. openSUSE-13.2-DVD-Build0011-x86_64.iso) had only 9 orphaned packages (different computer but same conditions). [opensuse-factory] What am I doing wrong, or is this normal?

I downloaded the 13.2 Beta ISO and am now in the process of installing it as a fresh installation on my laptop. I tried to install it with only Wi-fi available (I did not connect the ehternet connection) and when the installation process got to having to edit the network option available - in this case the Wi-fi - the installation process came up with this message: "These packages need to be installed: iw". Riiiiight, I thought, alright already let's install this "iw", so I clicked on OK, or whatever, and got the message that these packages were not installed and would I like to Try Again? (a very polite system here I would like you to know). However after several retries to install this mysterious "iw" I gave up and clicked on NO don't try to install this "iw" - just get on with it. Weeell, what do you think happened next? The whole installation process simply aborted. Up came the big red menu stating and error had occurred. So, have I not done something or is this behaviour normal when you are trying to install oS on a laptop which is not connected to the 'net via an ethernet cable? Tried to install (as fresh install) from 20140918 (openSUSE-Factory-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20140918-Media.iso) and after setting up wireless network card parameters installer wanted to install (2) additional package, one of them being wpa-suplicant. When I clicked OK the install errored out and took me to the "text mode" install screen at which time I aborted the install. Is this a known issue?
