Amavisd was tested with perl 5.18 and 5.20.1. Versions of perl older than 5.12 may cause problems with handling, encoding, and decoding of Unicode characters. Perhaps the most notable one of these is Low Energy Secure Connections which will require a 3.19 or newer kernel. This feature brings LE pairing to the same level of security as it has been for BR/EDR. Under some situations use of zero length client ids can cause the server to go into an infinite loop. As such ids are not valid according to RFC 2132 section 9.14 the server no longer accepts them. Client ids with a length of 1 are also invalid but the server still accepts them in order to minimize disruption. The restriction will likely be tightened in the future to disallow ids with a length of 1. Hello List Mates, Is it possible to use the same snapshot id number after deleting a range of snapshots? Example I have a range of snapshots from 1 > 20 If I delete snapshot ids 11 to 20, I want to create a new snapshot id 11? Snapper automatically starts at 21 and keeps increasing. Since the old snapshot id 11 no longer exists, I should be able to create a new one with the same id number. There is no explanation for this in any documentation. Cheers! Hello, I'm running 3.16.4-1.g7a8842b-desktop x86_64 from kernel:stable and I observe this on a system without any reiserfs partitions: # ps axu | grep [r]eiser root 16287 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< Oct08 0:00 [reiserfs/sda9] # lsmod | grep reiser # On 8 and 9/10, the system log indicates that os-prober attempted to mount sda4 and sda9 using every possible filesystem kernel module, but sda4 is an extended partition and sda9 is an unformatted one, which probably resulted in reiserfs kernel threads remaining even after I unloaded the reiserfs kernel module. To verify this, every time I run: #mount /dev/sda4 /mnt -t reiserfs mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda4, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so. #modprobe -r reiserfs another reiserfs kernel thread is added to the aforementioned ones. [opensuse-factory] I/O Performance much lower with new 3.17 kernel?!?

Hi there, this is just a heads-up message to check if other people made similar observations. Yesterday I've updated my systems ("zypper dup") from the former Factory release (sometime in October) to version "20141029 (Harlequin)". Apart from the trouble with VMware's modules everything appears as it did before. Now that I'm actually using this system, I realized that fetching e-mails from my local mailserver (postfix + dovecot22) using the fetchmail program is awfully slow. Before, a whole bunch of messages arrived on my workstation without any significant delay; now, running the same on kernel version 3.17.1-1.2.g5c4d099 looks like one e-mail per second. I've seen similar poor performance of fetchmail with IPv6 enabled (but not actually used) before, so I disabled IPv6 both on the server as well as on the client side, but didn't get any change or even improvement. I have now installed kernel version 3.16.7-1.gdfcb69e-desktop (from Kernel:/openSUSE-13.2/standard) and performance is back to normal. I don't know if this is a networking or a file system issue, but thought I'm going to report it here to check other people's opinions and/or experience. Here are some details about my system (server and client are identically configured): CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz RAM: 32 GiB Swap: 1 GiB (completely unused, just configured for safety) Root: 32 GiB btrfs on SSD Boot: 512 MiB ext2 on SSD Home: 1.9 TiB xfs on soft-raid10 with 4 hard disks Net: Realtek RTL8111/8168 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller + soft-bridging on top for virtualisation Your feedback is highly appreciated! Irregularly I loose the ability to use the mouse on my laptop with fully updated Tumbleweed, which is connected via USB. Removing the USB device shows with lsusb that it really is removed. Reinserting shows with lsusb it is really present. However I can't move the pointer with the mouse. It just does nothing. Only after powering off the laptop and booting it again, I can use the mouse as it should. Anybody having the same problem? BTW, sometimes, not very often, I have the same type of problem in my desktop with an USB stick. After the software remove, really removing the stick and reinserting, the stick does not show up the Device Notifier. Again I have to power down the system to be able to use the stick again. -- fr.gr. Hi, I installed Tumbleweed like this description: https://de.opensuse.org/Portal:Tumbleweed/Themen After the Update, I the system don't boot anymore. The Kernel hangs with A start job is running for Load Kernel Modules (.../no limit) (I reboot after 1h). A boot with the same Kernel (in the moment 3.17.4-1-desktop) in recovery mode - no deviation. Only if I use the old Kernel 3.16.6-2-desktop - the system boots without truble. Conditions: Tumbleweed /home is mounted via NFS 4.0 on openSUSE 13.2 (Harlequin) (x86_64) Kernel 3.17.1-53.gd944251-desktop (Tumbleweed) Encrypted Filesystem (created via yast2 disk) on a mounted drive On my second desktop I've in the beginning the same trouble but works after a restart in recovery mode now fine. I find in the new version nicer a systemctl (before rc...) function to restart this nor I can mount the encfs on the old kernel (segmentation fault). Also the /var/log/messages I can't find any more detailed information. Any Idea? A big "Thank You" to Andrei Borzenkov for his work on: 0165-Order-root-fsck-after-pre-mount.patch Now TW / Factory / OSS 13.2 work as expected during wakeup after hibernate (suspend to disk). Now I have 'just' to find the time to do the upgrade on the main box.
