No, it wasn't very accurate - the vast majority of stuff I talked about (after diggin' through mailing lists and other places) wasn't included yet. So, I want to better my life. Hello, knowing perfectly that I'm on my own ;) I just want to give some information here about an issue I got with a special setup: OpenSUSE 12.1, Tumbleweed, Kernel 3.3.0-16-desktop-x86_64 FS is BTRFS on a single volume with subvolumes for /, /srv and /home all done as RAID1 for meta- and userdata on two physical harddrives. There is a very much negative review of udisks2 http://igurublog.wordpress.com/2012/03/11/udisks2-another-loss-for-linux/ which claims that udisks2 is a Gnome-specific tool and will render many applications incompatible until rewritten. If this is true I would very much oppose including udisks2 in openSUSE without a thorough preparation. What do you think about this? I'm just wondering, I've been following this annoying KDE4 bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=275469 as it is still present in my openSUSE12.1 install with KDE4.8.1. How can I go about discovering if the patch for QT mentioned in the bug report and tracked as well here: https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-23361 has been applied anywhere in the openSUSE world? Are there any fans of xine (to view DVDs, TV, play music) here and, if so, have you managed to get it to run under Milestone #2 - 32-bit? Although I can get vlc to run successfully, I have hit a brick wall about getting xine to run. As is starts it comes up with an error message that it doesn't have a recognisable 'channels.conf'. I have a new glibc that contains fixes for two problems that have biten a few of you: * crashes in chromium or ktorrent if nscd is not running (or unscd is used) (bnc#741021) * Fix crash in KDE while starting glibc (bnc#753251). For the second bug I have confirmation that it's fixed on x86 but it might be that x86-64 contains another bug. Hi all, this is a announcement regarding changes which have just landed in upstream systemd (not yet released nor pushed to Factory) regarding /media and /tmp: - /media will no longer mounted as tmpfs. This is because udisks2 will no longer use /media for mounting removables devices but /run/media/<user> - /var/run and /var/lock are no longer bind-mounted to /run | /run/lock.
