Hi! When trying to rename package sim to kde3-sim name, an unexpected license problem surfaced. It seems some parts of the package are licensed under GPL-2.0 while the others are under MPL-1.1, see this bugreport: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=719081 The version of the package is 0.9.4.2. Hi, people! I decided to rename klamav to kde3-klamav. I submitted kde3-klamav to Factory and it got accepted. I then submitted a request to delete klamav, with a rationale that I am renaming klamav and kde3-klamav has been already accepted. But I got this request rejected: 83627 State:declined By:lrupp When:2011-09-19T22:16:57 delete: openSUSE:Factory/klamav Review by Group is accepted: legal-auto(licensedigger) Review by Group is accepted: factory-auto(coolo) From: review(Ansus) -> new(licensedigger) Comment: Please provide more information why this package should be deleted from openSUSE:Factory Now I made a new SR to delete klamav, but what else rationale can I provide? [opensuse-factory] Adding approved rpm package groups

rpmlint complains, appropriately, when the package group does not belong to a list of approved groups. Hi, this is a quite old FSC Notebook with an Intel Wireless 2200. Fresh factory installation over LAN with the net-iso, source changed to http://download.opensuse.org/factory/repo/oss/ ended in good shape, but wireless does not work. To make it short: installing ipw-firmware leads to a blocking re-modprobing of ipw2200 and further booting after hard reset ends with a nondisruptibale udev- settings at boot. Removing ipw-firmware in a rescue-system resolves the problem, but then there's no wireless. Fresh installation with 11.4 works like expected. [opensuse-factory] fsck boot error

I did a clean install today of factory and during first boot up I get a fsck error. A screenshot is attached, but it you can't open it, the gist of the error is that fsck can't find fsck.btrfs and puts my btrfs partition to read only. I am given the option of mounting my root partition myself, but this quietly fails. Anybody know what's up? Thanks, Steve

I have a nettop (asrock s330) running openSUSE 11.4. When it boots on my console I get: i8042: Failed to disable AUX port, but continuing anyway... Is this a SiS? i8042: If AUX port is really absent please use the 'i8042.noaux' option and then panics. I have attached a picture of the call trace. Hello, Is it the intended behavior? When I install factory, sysvinit is used on the running system. But as soon as I reboot it, systemd is used... Holla! I realized I cannot feel comfortable with a mercurial as git user. It is supposed to be git-like distribute vcs, but the amount of differences is too much. Some of them are easy to handle git format-patch HEAD~ vs hg log -r tip > name.patch But sometimes it's very suprising for me. For example when I learned about a fact, that local branches are not supported by default http://mercurial.selenic.com/wiki/Branch http://mercurial.selenic.com/wiki/LocalBranches http://mercurial.selenic.com/wiki/LocalbranchExtension or you cannot easy delete your topic named branch you made and did not publish http://mercurial.selenic.com/wiki/PruningDeadBranches And that confusion exceeded my born lazyness. So behold devel:tools:scm/hg-fast-export which I already submitted into Factory (request 82210). I "stole" some usefull things like manual pages and git-hg script from Debian, so it's really simple to use git-hg clone <mercurial-repository-url> and continue by man git-hg. I found, by analysing a not properly working /etc/init.d/amavis script that the utilty checkproc returns different return codes compared to this utility in openSUSE 11.4. [opensuse-factory] Poppler update, with no qt3 frontend

Hi, I'm planning to update poppler to 0.17.x/0.18.0 in Factory. One big change, though, is that the qt3 frontend has been removed. As far as I can tell, there is nothing in Factory that needs this, so it should not be a big issue. But please shout loud very soon if this is one for you. Hello all VMware-Workstation-Full-8 came out this week so I downloaded an evaluation version and installed it on a fresh install of openSUSE-DVD-Build0250-x86_64 (M5 with all the updates). Once the installation of VMware-Workstation 8 finished I re booted openSUSE 12.1 and copied and unzipped a backup of an existing WinXP VMware machine I then started VMware-Workstation 8 and added the evaluation key. I then opened and started the copied WinXP VMware machine. [opensuse-factory] Auto-negotiation failing for intel NIC after s2ram (3.0.4)

I have been testing 3.0.4 with Tumbleweed, and noticed that after a suspend to ram cycle, the NIC would come back online with only 10Mbit speeds for my GigE network. I believe something is breaking with auto-negotiation when the machine wakes up, but I'm not sure what to really do about it. kiwi:/home/tyler # ethtool -t eth0 The test result is FAIL The test extra info: Register test (offline) 10272 Eeprom test (offline) 1 Interrupt test (offline) 4 Loopback test (offline) 13 Link test (on/offline) 0 kiwi:/home/tyler # ethtool -r eth0 Cannot restart autonegotiation: Invalid argument kiwi:/home/tyler # I was somehow able to force autonegotiation on with to following: kiwi:/home/tyler # ethtool -s eth0 speed 1000 autoneg on Cannot advertise speed 1000 kiwi:/home/tyler # Which brought the device down and back up, and all of a sudden it worked?
