I'll have to try the hwinfo. I did set up the modem through Yast2, but even if I didn't or did it incorrectly, wouldn't wvdialconf still find it? openSUSE 12.1 Milestone 3 x86_64 i7 I get collectd messages every 10 seconds on the active tty console screen: collectd[2141]: uc_update: Value too old: name = WebYaST/df/df-root; value time - 1311954645; last cache update = 1311954645; collectd[2141]: Filter subsystem: Built-in target 'write': Dispatching value to all write plugins failed with status -1. above is two lines beginning with "collectd" wrapped for msg display. [opensuse-factory] yast software management failure

I did an upgrade to M3 last night. Just now in KDE3 I opened YaST2, then clicked on Software Management. Instead of getting it, an xmessage window opened up. It appears to be in 4pt type, so I have no idea what it says. Is there a way to configure such message windows to open using a legible font size? Hi, I see someone else made a post back in May about this and I was wondering if anything came of it since; This daemon is sadly disabled by default in 11.4 which results in /dev/random having very little available entropy at all and thus anything that uses /dev/random for key generation will tend to stall for inordinate amounts of time, especially on systems that are only running from the commandline, for example, I have occasionally seen DNSSEC tutorials for openSUSE which use /dev/urandom - something that I think is just insane, but most likely a result of nothing being available to fill the entropy pool. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe(a)opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help(a)opensuse.org

Hi, npapi-sdk is a new package which only provides pkgconfig and header files to build NPAPI browser plugins. Up to now that stuff was provided from mozilla-xulrunnerX and pkgconfig mozilla-plugin.pc. [opensuse-factory] Coming change: PulseAudio configuration enforced by default

Hi, For a while now, it has been possible to enable/disable PulseAudio by setting the PULSEAUDIO_ENABLE variable in /etc/sysconfig/sound and by calling the setup-pulseaudio helper. However, by default, there was no such PULSEAUDIO_ENABLE variable in /etc/sysconfig/sound (fillup wasn't called), and on new installs, this setting was not propagated to various files. This resulted in no real enforcement of the PA configuration. I'm fixing this, see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=707703 for a small discussion. With the fix, when the pulseaudio package is installed/updated, relevant configuration files are updated based on the PULSEAUDIO_ENABLE setting. This might impact people who either had a customized sound configuration for PulseAudio (ie, PA disabled for, say, libao but enabled for alsa), or for people who had manually disabled PulseAudio with just the setup-pulseaudio helper: PULSEAUDIO_ENABLE will be set to "yes" if it's not already defined, and that will forcefully enable PA everywhere. The solution is to edit /etc/sysconfig/sound and set PULSEAUDIO_ENABLE to either "no" (which means "don't use PulseAudio") or "custom" (which means "do not touch the PulseAudio-related configuration). This should also get mentioned in release notes for 12.1. What's the best way to make sure this happens?
