[opensuse-factory] rpm 4.9.0 failure, can somebody please give me a clue?

I asked for help with this problem on the packaging list but was met with silence most probably because nobody knows. Rosegarden fails to build with debug packages on factory standard in my home:plater and multimedia:apps when debug package is enabled. This is the failure on the two different versions of rosegarden. : + /usr/lib/rpm/find-debuginfo.sh /usr/src/packages/BUILD/rosegarden-11.02 extracting debug info from /usr/src/packages/BUILDROOT/rosegarden-11.02-15.44.i386/usr/bin/rosegarden /usr/lib/rpm/debugedit: canonicalization unexpectedly shrank by one character I've googled this but have only turned up old redhat bugs. From what I have seen, it's something to do with : "Usually caused by "//" in one of the paths." but what this has to do with debug package creation is a mystery to me. It doesn't cause a failure in factory because there ain't no debug packages built. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. [opensuse-factory] About 80 PHP packages to push to factory - when

Hi folks, I have about 80-100 packages in server:php:applications which belong more or less to the new horde 4 groupware and framework. I want them in 12.1 but there are almost weekly minor updates and I don't want to generate too much overhead with sr supersedes. Apart from that, some of them could really use some more polishing but last-minute commits to factory aren't that good a decision either. [opensuse-factory] libevent in opensuse 11.4 is behind the times

I'm not sure when the cutoff for opensuse 11.4 was, but looking at the history for libevent, (http://monkey.org/~provos/libevent/) release candidates for 2.0 started 2010-08-08 with 2.0.6 and , with a stable released on 2010-12-16. It's now up to 2.0.11-stable, but OpenSuse 11.4 only has version 1.l4.14, from 11 months ago (released 2010-06-07). Is the cutoff window that long, or did it slip into a crack or what? Is libevent-2.0 scheduled for inclusion in OS 11.5? With an 18-month release cycle, that will make it 37 months or over 3 years, before a 2.x version would be available. [opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed possible intel driver bug

Hi, I am using Tumbleweed with opensuse 11.4. I sometimes experience screen tearing. Mostly when I scrool or move things. Next time it happens I will try to get a screen shot of it. I am adding my lspci,lsmod output and repository list as an attachment.

[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed repo structure question

Hello guys. I have a simple question, but can not find an answer. Manual recommends to use only one repo -- Tumbleweed. But we have not enought software there. And because of this we need to have 11.4-oss, 11.4-non-oss and updates repo enabled. As result we have repo hell: packages conflicts and so on. For example, first update with "zypper dup --from Tumbleweed" was completed great. But later, when new packages appeared in Tumbleweed repo, "zypper dup" (as Greg K-H recommends) instead "zypper dup --from Tumbleweed" didn`t update these packages because zypper doesn`t change repository for package by default. And it`s needed to use priorities or --from option again. The question is why not to pull _all_ packages from oss-repo and non-oss-repo to tumbleweed repo. Even if the most part of them will be at the same version. This way we can use really single tumbleweed repo.
