[opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed and perl

Greg KH, Just a note about perl and the D:L:P repo (development:languages:perl). Since 11.4 is due out so soon and will fix this issue, you don't need to address this, but I thought I'd make you aware anyway since I assume similar situations will arise in the future. Hopefully this can be fixed via documentation on the wiki, and that is my real request. Anyway, I have a home project for which I just added the Tumbleweed repo. In my home project, I also have a number of perl modules with the specfile built via cpanspec. They use a specfile macro that is not in 11.3, but is in the D:L:P 11.3 repo. So I have OBS build against D:L:P 11.3 successfully. But they fail when I attempt to build against Tumbleweed due to the undefined specfile macro. The most obvious fix would be to get Tumbleweed to have that macro defined. (It is defined in 11.4, so I'm not really asking. I can wait 2 or 3 weeks.) A more flexible option, would be for me to additionally add the D:L:P 11.3 repo to my OBS Tumbleweed build environment. I don't think that can be done via the GUI. (ie. Via the GUI, I think every repo I add creates a new build environment.) Nor do I know if it is supported via manual config file editing. If so, having the wiki entry for Tumbleweed discuss how to add a second simultaneous repo like that would be beneficial. If anyone wants to look into this so they can document a fix, please feel free to just branch one of my failed perl module builds from. Hi: I get the error message in $Subject if I try to use /sbin/fstrim on all my filesystems BUT /boot which is the only one which is not encrypted. How am I supposed to "trim" dm-crypt/LUKS volumes on an SSD device ? [opensuse-factory] openSUSE 11.4 RC1, Overheat after Making a Mobile Broadband

Hello developers, I hope this bug will be fixed in time. My computer[0] got overheat (85 C, 86 C, 87 C, .. and keep raising), until booted down itself, though it hanged in the middle of it and I had to press the button down by my self. I could not see what happened in a boot-down log when it hanged. It always happened when I made an Internet connection through Mobile Broadband[1], even I did not yet lunch Firefox, the performance went slower, and when I saw the 'powertop', it showed: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/OeSVet7GuQLovgyVFgXzfQ?feat=directlink The issue existed since I tried openSUSE 11.4 Milestone 5, I thought it was related to bnc#665439, I disnt know, so I did not watch it carefully, added my issue there, or fill new bug, until I find it still remains until RC1. The issue sometimes came even I did not make the mobile broadband connection, just plug it to the USB socket, then in (about) a or two minutes, the computer's temperature gets hotter and the performance goes slower. I don't have such issue when playing in openSUSE 11.3 nor 11.2. How should i provide useful information, so will become to the resolvable bug? The only way I can start X from console is either via logging in as the root user, by using sudo, or by switching on the setuid bit on the Xorg binary (which is suggested in the startx error message). So the only sensible way I can get X as a normal user is to set default boot to rl5 in inittab. I'm new to SUSE but not new to gnu/linux, and this doesn't seem like 'normal' gnu/linux bahaviour to me. So is this a problem with my installation (11.4 RC1) or is this the intended behaviour? Guys on IRC seemed to think it was a bug, but if so why the 'informative' error message suggesting I set the setuid bit? /usr/sbin/cron[3919]: pam_listfile(crond:account): Couldn't open /etc/cron.allow I get the above constantly in Var/log//messages Also, as there seems to be something wrong in PAM (fish and sftp not working without ssh keys) I'm thinking if this has something to do with the other PAM problems. Normally the file /etc/cron.allow doesn't exist. Should it? Why is it requested here? Hello, I have a question for NFS mount? On my home System I have three NFS mount to two systems Computer server1/data1 server1/data2 server2/data1 when I start my System I have only two mount server1/data2 server2/data1 the mount for "server1/data1" is never succeed? I don't find any in the logs for this Problem? I must make always a "rcnfs restart" to mount all three Partitions ? Have any a solution to this problem?
