Hi, I don't know if anybodies reported a bug or if it's a transient problem but when build service build is installing glib2-2.24.0-1.1 there's an error output :- /usr/bin/gio-querymodules-64: error while loading shared libraries: libglib-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory warning: %post(glib2-2.24.0-1.1.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127 Maybe this will help fix something before it's broken. [opensuse-factory] Udev rule and the xorg.conf.d missing on LiveCD?

Hi. I don´t wanna overload Bugzilla, so i´m writing this mail at first in according to bug 592193, when LiveCD finally boots in VMware, but installation still hangs. As Stefan Dirsch wrote in comment 19, possible reason is udev rule and the xorg.conf.d snippet are simply missing on the LiveCD. Could you take a look at it? I tried factory Gnome LiveCD, build 0552 and KDE LiveCD, build 0553. [opensuse-factory] DICE - Desktop/Server integration

Hi list, Maybe wrong list to ask these questions, but yet. The DICE package for 11.3 M4 still holds version 0.1.9. Is there ongoing developement on DICE? According to http://en.opensuse.org/DICE the DICE Manager has a login feature (auth-agent) nautilus-dice is a nautilus extension that exposes shared document (Teaming) actions in the native file browser. At least DICE is a openSUSE project and available for the latest openSUSE, contrary to the proprieatary Novell Client for Linux which is a delaying factor for deployment (still not available for openSUSE 11.2). What I wonder is if DICE could be extended to get a generic, simplified/automatical login and file mount for openSUSE clients networked with openSUSE/SLES/OES2/NOWS servers? Rgds, Terje J. Hi, after the latest update, some fonts doesn't seem to be antialiased any more in Firefox? [opensuse-factory] X resource handling broken

After upgrading almost all packages related to graphics so that I get a working configuration for my i945 card (and I really need the bleeding edge, or it crashes in various ways), I suddenly can't start Emacs or any other program which relies on X resources. I get errors like Undefined color: "WINDOW_FOREGROUND" and indeed, saying appres I see *XmTextField.background: WINDOW_BACKGROUND *XmTextField.foreground: WINDOW_FOREGROUND *Dialog.background: BACKGROUND *Dialog.foreground: FOREGROUND ... which means that strings like WINDOW_BACKGROUND aren't expanded to proper colours. I use KDE. Is this a known problem? Which package or initialization script is responsible for this expansion? Hi, The libpng update to 14 caused a lot of pain and now we're set back 2 days for Milestone5 - still having ~2000 packages to build. So if we can meet friday, it would be very late. So I rather go with monday and be safe. The factory tree synced out today and is already marked as M5, but we had to fix the libpng14-32bit thing, because gtk2-32bit depends on it and with it a lot of things x86_64 users have installed. [opensuse-factory] Coordinated upgrade to jack2 for FACTORY / 11.3

Hi, I got a contact from Debian Multimedia team about the possibility of coordinated upgrade of JACK package from version 1 to version 2 on SUSE. That is, major distros, Debian, Ubuntu, and others will upgrade the package for jack simultaneously in order to avoid confusion among distros. From the technical viewpoint, there shouldn't be big obstacles for us -- JACK2 is ABI compatible with JACK1, and it's being used already on Packman repo, IIRC. I think Dave already has managed jack2 stuff in his repo for some time, too. Thus the movement should be relatively simple. But, my question here is whether this is allowed now for FACTORY / 11.3 at this moment. I know this kind of thing should have been handled through FATE. But if we do this, it should be done quickly in a timely manner. So, I'm asking just here for a quick decision. [opensuse-factory] getting openSSL up-to-date?

I can imagine most people around here are over their head busy with testing the new milestone, but.... Any chance op doing some major steps (11.2, 11.2, not just 11.3) for openssl? afaicr it was not so long ago that the path for moving to the "K" version was distributed here. But when looking at the openssl site i noticed: 25-feb: OpenSSL 0.9.8m is now available, including important bug and security fixes 24-mar: OpenSSL 0.9.8n is now available, including important bug and security fixes 29-mar: OpenSSL 1.0.0 is now available, a major release I might say that openssl is just as important as packages like apache, which _is_ up-to-date. Hey Group; As of last nights zypper up something has changed and now acroread-9.2 fails. What is another application that KDE has to read pdf. [opensuse-factory] Problem with starting firefox

Since a longer time I have to manually delete ~/.mozilla/firefox/0jb6f6e2.default/compatibility.ini before I can start firefox. IIRC, this has been so since I upgraded to openSuSE factory for 11.3 or to firefox version 3. Any idea how to fix it? I can't believe that this happens to all of you... Hi, multimedia:libs gstreamer-0_10-plugins-bad is failing to build libgstcog for everything except 11.2. The ./config output says for factory standard :- configure: *** checking feature: Cog plugin *** configure: *** for plug-ins: cog *** checking for COG... no no configure: *** These plugins will not be built: cog but the 11.2 build finds cog. My question is what provides cog. I've searched 11.2 packages and can only come up with discogs from packman and google brings up a cog package which looks multimedia related. I'm double posting to packaging and factory. Apologies if i barking under the wrong tree... For i colleage of mine i had to install a vps with elgg. I noticed that there was a recent build on the OBS of elgg, located under: 528 /srv/distro/repo/Education/openSUSE_11.2/src/elgg-0.9.2-4.1.src.rpm 4384 /srv/distro/repo/Education/openSUSE_11.2/noarch/elgg-0.9.2-4.1.noarch.rpm 4528 /srv/distro/repo/Education/openSUSE_Factory/src/elgg-0.9.2-4.30.src.rpm 3760 /srv/distro/repo/Education/openSUSE_Factory/noarch/elgg-0.9.2-4.30.noarch.rpm However, when looking at the elgg site, the 1.00 version is already two years old. Current version is 1.7. http://elgg.org/download.php In case the Edu-maintainer is not around here, can someone pass on the suggestion to do a modest update? Sure, i was told that installation of the package is supposed to be very easy, but for maintenance/upgrade reasons, i rather use suSE-build packages. Hi, schroedinger is in factory and requires liborc but orc isn't in factory, there was a thread discussing this but orc is still sitting in multimedia:libs. Did somebody submit it to factory and it was turned down for some reason? Is there a way to turn OFF the irritating automatic full screen function? I have noticed when you move an image it like to go full screen way to easy. Also I have noticed if once it is moved then back the mouse towards the bottom of the image keeps it from jumping into full screen mode. Hi, Just a quick heads up from your security team... I did some adjustments to hostkey handling. First, we now display a "visual" fingerprint of the hostkey. This is to have better visual queues on whether hosts known to you changed or not (there will still be an actual compare in the background and a big fat warning). An example looks like: RSA key fingerprint is a3:8e:5f:e9:5a:b9:cf:1a:07:2d:ca:75:52:b1:6d:b0. +--[ RSA 1024]----+ | o | | * | | E o | | o . | | S o | | . + O | | + * . | | o + = | | ..+.+oo | +-----------------+ Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? Secondly, we have switched the .ssh/known_hosts file to "hashed hostkeys". This means, the known_hosts file no longer lists the hosts or ip numbers in readable form, but in hashed form. This change is to avoid that worms, if they ever infect your account, to use this file to find out "known hosts" to which to try to login next and so try to stop a worm infection of e.g. your servers.
