Hi,
The roadmap says we will release M3 this week. With 194 packages not building
(many of them caused by more strict implementation of FORTIFY_SOURCE it seems)
I'm not really sure we can make it. Then again I prefer releasing a buggy M3
that allows testing than not releasing any milestone and not having any
testing. But I won't release anything that doesn't allow testing - so we'll
see.
And as usual I welcome any help in getting the build failures / bug count
down.
You can see the details here:
https://build.opensuse.org/project/status?project=openSUSE:Factory
(need to login)
If someone fixed Mono, we're back to green most likely :)
Greetings, Stephan

Hi,
Does anyone know any users of /usr/bin/hostid? We have a custom one
in the util-linux package but upstream coreutils contains a
different implementation. Ours prints '0xnumber' while upstream only
prints 'number'. Also ours allows to set the hostid and the man page
refers to /etc/hostid. However, hostid doesn't actually read that
file and there also doesn't seem to be an init script for it either.
So I wonder whether we could safely switch to the coreutils version.

Hi,
Has anyone ever seen any use of /usr/sbin/freeramdisk?
AFAICS it's equivalent to "blockdev --flushbufs /dev/ram" so I guess
we can just drop it.
