[opensuse-factory] Still need to accept the openSUSE license.

For 11.1 or 11.2M3, using the DVD to perform an install, or to upgrade from a previous version, it's not actually required to accept the displayed license. However, when using zypper dup to perform an upgrade from 11.2M3 to 11.2M4, the openSUSE license is displayed and it is required to accept the license. For consistency between the different methods of performing an upgrade, I'm guessing that this requirement is actually an oversight. If it is an oversight, would it be worth filing a bug report about it? [opensuse-factory] Does anyone use factory mono based apps?

Hi, I have a problem running mono based apps, they can't access the web at all. I've filed a bug against monodevelop but it hasn't been assigned to anyone yet and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced problems or even run mono apps on factory at all? [opensuse-factory] Problems with Milestone4 on a Compaq Pressario CQ71

I tried to install Milestone4 on a Compaq Pressario CQ71. I have severall problems: * Just like Donn Washburn, grub is not succesfull during the install. After the install, I can install grub. * The Windows partiton is not used by grub. I have to manually edit /boot/grub/menu.lst * The screen is set on 800x600 instead of 1600x900. * When yast is run on the console (what I almost always do) it is very slow. This could be a problem from console. Switching from tab is also very slow. * The Compaq has an 82801I (IHC9 Family) HD Audio Controller. This does not work. [opensuse-factory] openSUSE 11.2 Milestone. No sound

I have 3 sound cards on one box and I cannot play audio from youtube in any browser or play a file with flashplayer. If I remove the PID for pulseaudio I can play a wav file using aplay, but not with pulseaudio running. Skype always works. Using flashplayer with pulseaudio not running, it says it can't connect, obviously still looking for pulseaudio. /dev/dsp is the Intel HDA /dev/dsp1 is the Audigy, used to control of a Sofware Defined Radio (SDR). /dev/dsp2 is the Logitech 9000 Pro camera mic # flashplayer /home/lancelot/dwhelper/AdaptiveBlue-CreatingCustomSmartLinkWidgets813.flv WARNING: environment variable G_FILENAME_ENCODING set and it is not UTF-8 Currently in use: 1 blocks containing 63.9 KiB bytes total. Allocated during whole lifetime: 248 blocks containing 7.4 MiB bytes total. Hello :-) It seems than no web mail is available in the mainstream distribution (squirell and imp can be found in obs). Is there any other I missed? [opensuse-factory] Disabling beagle by default: implementation

Hey, I'm looking at https://features.opensuse.org/305296 The decision was to disable beagle by default. We have various options to do so and I'd like feedback on what would work best for people: + we can add a key to the autostart desktop file so that it gets disabled by default. Issue: there's no standardized keys accross all desktops to do this. The KDE team is fine with not enabling beagle at all in KDE (using something like NotShowIn=KDE), but we'd still have the issue in XFCE and other desktops. A possible solution is to use OnlyShowIn=GNOME so that beagle only gets considered by GNOME during startup (still disabled, though). + we can simply remove the autostart desktop file. Issue: it will not be possible to enable the start of beagle via the usual autostart preferences. Note that there's an option in the beagle preferences to automatically get it started (it will add a .desktop file to the autostart directory). Both options are kind of okay, but I guess it really depends on how people on other desktops that GNOME and KDE want this to work. Any opinion from XFCE people, for example? With the way openSUSE 11.2's timeline falls not having a working x-fi for another 8 month period after release of 11.2 would be a disaster. It would be preferable even for factory to switch to the 2.6.31 release candidates just so some testing could be done with yast's sound module and the xfi alsa support before the latter stages of 11.2 development. It is probably one of the most wanted to work in linux pieces of hardware out there.
