[opensuse-factory] 10.3 RC1 doesn't see SATA drive in mixed IDE/SATA environment

I have two hard drives, one IDE and one SATA. My 10.2 installation has /, /boot, /usr mounted on the SATA drive, while /home is a LVM2 volume spanning both hard drives. When I tried installing 10.3 RC1, it only detected the IDE drive. In the Partitioner module, choosing expert - import settings from previous fstab failed to find an existing fstab. The boot up process appears to load both IDE and SATA drivers, so I presume there is a problem with the SATA (sata_sis) driver. Hi! * We tried about 6 builds after RC1 that were supposed to become RC2 (to be regression tested internally). But we're still not there yet. Starting the 7th right now. But the bugs we're seeing are very limited in scope and will very likely be fixed in time. * We're down to 0 blockers (two were just FIXED this morning) and 68 critical. The criticals may result in online updates available at time for the GA. * The Factory tree was updated on monday after keeping it on hold for testing RC1 installations * The List of community repos is pretty well filled and translated based on proposal derived from the last IRC meeting Anything I missed? [opensuse-factory] Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1300 (hybrid) doesn't work in RC1

Hi, Yast detects it as CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder. It didn't work. Then I manually selected the correct one. Tuner can not be edited in yast (it says: no tuner is available for the selected card). It doesn't find any stations at all (Spain, pal-bg). I try kdetv, same thing: no stations, neither manually not automatically. I can see the video (composite input), but no sound. I twiddled all volume controls I could find in the mixer to no avail. -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. Hi, if you have a Lenovo T61 laptop, you might be suffering from bug #325601 As we have difficulties reliably triggering it, anybody ready to test the kernel RPMs http://beta1.suse.com/private/oneukum/325601 would be most welcome. If you see "Shutting up FLR interrupt" in your kernel log, I'll have kept your USB working and I can close this bug. [opensuse-factory] Renaming OpenOffice in 10.3?

As you may know, OpenOffice.org 2.3 RC3 was released as stable version. In openSUSE 10.3 RC1 we still use RC3 name. What about "updating" OpenOffice.org to version stable (even if it's only about the name)? In this way ppl won't think "Oh no, I installed stable openSUSE 10.3 with not stable OO.org!!!" :-) -- Rafał Miłecki

What is the procedure to get extra repositories added to openSUSE 10.3's "Community Repositories" module in YaST? In particular I would like to get "network:telephony" added to the list now that Asterisk has been removed from the core distro. Hi, http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:Most_Annoying_Bugs_10.3_dev is pretty useful. I'm wondering who determines what goes in that page. The wiki's history shows that a bunch of people have added bugs to it. Is it just a free-for-all, or is there a rationale on which bugs should be there? [opensuse-factory] Problem with udevd on openSUSE 10.3 (Beta/RC)

Hi, yesterday I've installed openSUSE 10.3 RC1 and after the installation the boot process from hard disk hangs, when udevd is being started. After waiting minutes, nothing happens, even after pressing STRG+C. With openSUSE 10.3 Beta 3 I had the same problem. But the system is not frozen, because the enter- and numlock-key are still working. Perhaps this has something to do with this bug: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=270490 I am running the following hardware: Intel Core2Duo E6750 2 GB RAM Gigabyte P35-DS3P NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GTS 2 x SATA WD3200AAKS with Intel Matrix RAID 0 (ICH9R) Samsung SATA DVD-ROM Samsung SATA DVD-RW So, what's wrong? In the rescue system I'm not able to see the RAID array, probably missing dmraid/devicemapper.
