Hi, Many of the mirrors do not carry the openSUSE factory. Those that do appear to have mirrored a problem. To wit: http://linux.nssl.noaa.gov/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source Can't provide /suse/setup/descr/packages.sk from http://linux.nssl.noaa.gov/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source Gwdg.de is so vastly overburdened as to be worthless. What's an early adopter to do? [opensuse-factory] Has anybody "smart --gui" running recently?

I've almost given up hope on getting smart's GUI running for a period of longer than a few days. Usually it works a few days if following the factory builds, and then is broken again. Sometimes you have to delete stuff in /var/lib/smart, but this time even this doesn't help. [opensuse-factory] Icon Set for YaST

Hi, reading the discussions on this mailing list about the switch of the YaST2 icon theme and gathering some more information that I was not aware at when I made the decision, I'm suggesting the following plan: * Go back for 10.2 to the crystal icon set for YaST (the crystal icons were used in 10.1 and earlier) * For openSUSE 10.3: - figure out which icons are needed - take care that we have a complete set of tango icons for yast2 (there are still some missing which I didn't know before making the decision) - use consistent names for icons so that we can easily switch between themes. - find volunteers to take care of new crystal icons for yast2 - consolidate all YaST icons in one central place (currently *most* are in the theme package but not all) so that we can switch between icon sets - discuss and decide which icon set to use for YaST for the following situations: * during installation * with GNOME as default desktop * with KDE as default desktop - discuss and decide whether to change the icon set for KDE (and to which icon set) Would this plan be ok? [opensuse-factory] Mirror servers for factory? Syncing problems?

Hi, for some days now I'm waiting for the libzypp 2.4.0 which should make my rug render usable again. Unfortunately, all the servers I check don't have this thing synched. As a reference: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=212100 The file should be around for some days already. Is there a mirror with the corresponding files? (I mostly use gwdg.de up to now) I have the same with another bug report which I will have to reply, but if synching is not working, I might have problems finding the required RPMs Thanks for some light Dominique

[opensuse-factory] Printing From Java Applications: "No print service found."

Hi, I am unable to print from Java applications. Both jEdit (programmer's editor) and <oXygen/> (XML editor) report "No print service found." when printing is attempted (this is true for both the "Page Setup" and "Print" commands). Eclipse does not enable its Print command. I have configured a remote CUPS printer and can successfully print to that printer from other applications. I could find no tool for configuring a Java print service (I looked in the Java plug-in and JWS / JNLP configuration tools but found nothing relevant to printer configurations in either of them). Am I overlooking some necessary configuration, or is this probably a bug? Has anyone else been able to print successfully from Java applications? If so, did you have to do anything special (beyond setting up a printer)? Thanks.
