just in SLE.
- Remove not needed upstream patches:
* libexpat260.patch
* CVE-2023-6597-TempDir-cleaning-symlink.patch, bsc#1219666
- Update to 3.11.9:
* Security
- gh-115398: Allow controlling Expat >=2.6.0 reparse deferral
(CVE-2023-52425, bsc#1219559) by adding five new methods:
xml.etree.ElementTree.XMLParser.flush()
xml.etree.ElementTree.XMLPullParser.flush()
xml.parsers.expat.xmlparser.GetReparseDeferralEnabled()
xml.parsers.expat.xmlparser.SetReparseDeferralEnabled()
xml.sax.expatreader.ExpatParser.flush()
- gh-115399: Update bundled libexpat to 2.6.0
- gh-115243: Fix possible crashes in collections.deque.index()
when the deque is concurrently modified.

ssl.SSLContext.get_ca_certs() now correctly lock access to the
certificate store, when the ssl.SSLContext is shared across
multiple threads.
* Core and Builtins
- gh-116296: Fix possible refleak in object.__reduce__() internal
error handling.
- gh-116034: Fix location of the error on a failed assertion.
- gh-115823: Properly calculate error ranges in the parser when
raising SyntaxError exceptions caused by invalid byte sequences.
Patch by Pablo Galindo
- gh-112087: For an empty reverse iterator for list will be
reduced to reversed(). Patch by Donghee Na.
- gh-115011: Setters for members with an unsigned integer type now
support the same range of valid values for objects that has a
__index__() method as for int.
- gh-96497: Fix incorrect resolution of mangled class variables
used in assignment expressions in comprehensions.
* Library
- gh-117310: Fixed an unlikely early & extra Py_DECREF triggered
crash in ssl when creating a new _ssl._SSLContext if CPython was
built implausibly such that the default cipher list is empty or
the SSL library it was linked against reports a failure from its
C SSL_CTX_set_cipher_list() API.
- gh-117178: Fix regression in lazy loading of self-referential
modules, introduced in gh-114781.
- gh-117084: Fix zipfile extraction for directory entries with the
name containing backslashes on Windows.

invalid state (stored as a list instead of a str) after an
earlier read raised DuplicateSectionError or
DuplicateOptionError.
- gh-90095: Ignore empty lines and comments in .pdbrc
- gh-116764: Restore support of None and other false values in
urllib.parse functions parse_qs() and parse_qsl(). Also, they
now raise a TypeError for non-zero integers and non-empty
sequences.
- gh-116811: In PathFinder.invalidate_caches, delegate to
MetadataPathFinder.invalidate_caches.
- gh-116600: Fix repr() for global Flag members.
- gh-116484: Change automatically generated tkinter.Checkbutton
widget names to avoid collisions with automatically generated
tkinter.ttk.Checkbutton widget names within the same parent
widget.
- gh-116401: Fix blocking os.fwalk() and shutil.rmtree() on
opening named pipe.
- gh-116143: Fix a race in pydoc _start_server, eliminating a
window in which _start_server can return a thread that is
âservingâ but without a docserver set.
- gh-116325: typing: raise SyntaxError instead of AttributeError
on forward references as empty strings.
- gh-90535: Fix support of interval values > 1 in
logging.TimedRotatingFileHandler for when='MIDNIGHT' and
when='Wx'.
- gh-115978: Disable preadv(), readv(), pwritev(), and writev() on
WASI.

This response is even more confusing to me. I take this sentence
fragment to mean "No, the first 'not' was not the typo, the second 'not'
was the typo," which would mean the sentence should have been something like
"and for now if you have GRUB2 you should not have sdbootutil [but
instead have] dracut-pcr-signature"
I don't know how to reconcile this with the earlier statement that the
correct solution is the deinstallation of dracut-pcr-signature.

=== Details ===
==== gdk-pixbuf ====
Subpackages: gdk-pixbuf-lang gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders gdk-pixbuf-thumbnailer libgdk_pixbuf-2_0-0 typelib-1_0-GdkPixbuf-2_0
- Fix path to gdk-pixbuf-query-loader in pkg-config file: we rename
the loader to be multi-arch compatible and thus also need to
adjust the .pc file to have build-systems find it.
==== glib2 ====
Subpackages: glib2-lang glib2-tools libgio-2_0-0 libglib-2_0-0 libgmodule-2_0-0 libgobject-2_0-0 libgthread-2_0-0 typelib-1_0-GLib-2_0 typelib-1_0-GModule-2_0 typelib-1_0-GObject-2_0 typelib-1_0-Gio-2_0
- require dbus-launch only if dbus-service is wanted. This helps
with stripping down container-only builds
==== icewm ====
Subpackages: icewm-config-upstream icewm-default icewm-lang icewm-lite
- Do not recommends icewm-lang: the -lang package has already more
sophisticated supplements. The various sub-packages require
icewm, and thus get the supplements satisfied indirectly.

I assume that first "not" was a typo?

Hi all,
Just wanted to give you an update with regards to the maintainership of the
Chromium Web Browser. It has slowly become more and more tricky to continue
to be up to date with upstream. I thank Andreas Stieger so much for helping
me as much as possible. I was handed control from SUSE back in November
2020 so that's been almost 3.5 years of me trying to do my best while
managing other openSUSE packages and my personal life at the same time.
This has become increasingly trickier with me being at University.
Personally, I don't blame SUSE at all even though I'm entirely responsible
for a package needed by openQA and used by many people. I strongly feel
this is due to lack of understanding by "Chromium Project" aka Google with
how distribution packagers change the setup, mainly because the default is
Chrome with all dependencies bundled making the resulting binary huge and
they annoying have decided recently to almost adopt C++ new standards
before they even work correctly in the standard compilers and subsequently
fixes are landing after the stable release comes out. More detail about
I'll publish later in the update bug.
If anyone wants to help, that'd be much appreciated, I'll warn you it may
be pretty tricky (although I'm not exactly a true C++ expert myself) The
working copy is available at network:chromium/chromium-beta so branch that
like usual and submit if you get it working. If you want to subsequently
become a maintainer, either send a request or an email to myself. Again
check the update bug later in the day and I'll give more details on
currently how it builds.
I know Lubos is in contact with some SUSE members to do this already but
this may be unsuccessful. We likely may need more than one person anyways.
Many thanks,
Callum Farmer

zypper dup -l tells me there is a conflict:
Problem: 1: the to be installed grub2-branding-
openSUSE-84.87.20240405-1.2.noarch requires 'grub2', but this requirement
cannot be provided
Solution 1: Following actions will be done:
deinstallation of grub2-branding-openSUSE-84.87.20240405-1.1.noarch
deinstallation of grub2-2.12-13.1.x86_64
deinstallation of grub2-i386-pc-2.12-13.1.noarch
deinstallation of grub2-snapper-plugin-2.12-13.1.noarch
deinstallation of grub2-systemd-sleep-plugin-2.12-13.1.noarch
deinstallation of grub2-x86_64-efi-2.12-13.1.noarch
Solution 2: Following actions will be done:
deinstallation of dracut-pcr-signature-0.3+1-1.1.noarch
deinstallation of sdbootutil-snapper-1+git20240410.3325802-1.1.x86_64
Solution 3: keep obsolete dracut-pcr-signature-0.3+1-1.1.noarch
Solution 4: break grub2-branding-openSUSE-84.87.20240405-1.2.noarch by
ignoring some of its dependencies
I understand that the best solution is #3, to keep the old version of dracut-
pcr-signature-0.3+1 for the time being. Perhaps it would be better to suggest
a solution somewhere (package changelog?) in cases like this - unavoidable
temporary conflicts.
Greetings!

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,
This week has been filled with 7 snapshots (0411, 0412, 0414, 0415,
0416, 0416, and 0418). From a staging perspective, things looked rather
easy – which means the package maintainers have done a great job
submitting things that work and have most likely been pretested. The
most interesting changes during this week include:
* Apache 2.4.59
* Linux kernel 6.8.5 & 6.8.6
* Pam 1.6.1
* Kiwi 10.0.10 & 10.0.12
* KDE Gear 24.02.2
* KDE Frameworks 6.1.0
* KDE Plasma 6.0.4
* SDL3 (no consumers yet)
Staging projects are well balanced, some are in ready to accept for the
next snapshots, some are building/testing and, as usual, some are
failing tests. The most interesting changes currently being tested are:
* Python 3.11.9 & 3.12.3
* Linux kernel 6.8.7 & kernel-longterm 6.6.28
* util-linux 2.40
* libxml 2.12.6: a long-lasting attempt to get to 2.12.x – but the
results are looking good by now. There are two packages left that are
failing: VirtualBox & libqt5-qtwebengine. For both, there should be
some fixes available.
* dbus-broker: no progress this week
* GCC 14: phase 2: use gcc14 as the default compiler – lots of help
needed:
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:Gcc7
Cheers,
Dominique
