Hi,
Enlightenment still uses acpid simply to allow users to setup bindings
for specific events. As such it provides users with a warning if the
acpid service is not running at start up on systems that provide acpi
events. Asking users to manually enable this service is somewhat annoying.
Given that we haven't required acpid on almost all systems for many
years would it be possible to renable acpid in our system presets as
users that have it installed these days generally want to use it to get
notifications about various events (the systemvinit stuff was removed
long ago).
Cheers

=== Details ===
==== 389-ds ====
Version update (2.1.1~git5.e988a3f55 -> 2.1.1~git8.d50340ba5)
Subpackages: lib389 libsvrcore0
- Update to version 2.1.1~git8.d50340ba5:
* Issue 5260 - BUG - OpenLDAP allows multiple names of memberof overlay (#5261)
* Issue 5252 - During DEL, vlv search can erroneously return NULL candidate (#5256)
* Issue 5210 - Python undefined names in lib389
==== cups ====
Version update (2.3.3op2 -> 2.4.1)
Subpackages: cups-client cups-config libcups2 libcups2-32bit libcupsimage2
- Have cups.pc in %{_libdir} to avoid a conflict
that cups-devel and cups-devel-32bit would
both contain /usr/lib/pkgconfig/cups.pc because
when cups.pc is arch dependent it has to be in %{_libdir}
which it is because it contains 'libdir=/usr/lib64' on x86_64
(if it was arch independent it would have to be in %{_datadir})
cf. https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/965680
- Improved comments in spec file and in changes file
- Have cups.keyring in ASCII armored format
- Do not error out when 'make test' fails in the 'check' section
because https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups/issues/155
is not yet actually fixed so currently the testsuite
still sometimes fails
- Version upgrade to 2.4.1:

==== python-SQLAlchemy ====
Version update (1.4.32 -> 1.4.35)
- update to version 1.4.35:
* sql
+ [sql] [bug] Fixed bug in newly implemented
FunctionElement.table_valued.joins_implicitly feature where the
parameter would not automatically propagate from the original
TableValuedAlias object to the secondary object produced when
calling upon TableValuedAlias.render_derived() or
TableValuedAlias.alias().
Additionally repaired these issues in TableValuedAlias:
- repaired a potential memory issue which could occur when
repeatedly calling TableValuedAlias.render_derived() against
successive copies of the same object (for .alias(), we
currently have to still continue chaining from the previous
element. not sure if this can be improved but this is standard
behavior for .alias() elsewhere)
- repaired issue where the individual element types would be
lost when calling upon TableValuedAlias.render_derived() or
TableValuedAlias.alias().
References: #7890
+ [sql] [bug] [regression] Fixed regression caused by #7823 which
impacted the caching system, such that bound parameters that had
been ?cloned? within ORM operations, such as polymorphic
loading, would in some cases not acquire their correct
execution-time value leading to incorrect bind values being
rendered. References: #7903
- changes from version 1.4.34:
* orm
+ [orm] [bug] [regression] Fixed regression caused by #7861 where
invoking an Insert construct which contained ORM entities
directly via Session.execute() would fail. References: #7878
* postgresql
+ [postgresql] [bug] Scaled back a fix made for #6581 where
?executemany values? mode for psycopg2 were disabled for all ?ON
CONFLICT? styles of INSERT, to not apply to the ?ON CONFLICT DO
NOTHING? clause, which does not include any parameters and is
safe for ?executemany values? mode. ?ON CONFLICT DO UPDATE? is
still blocked from ?executemany values? as there may be
additional parameters in the DO UPDATE clause that cannot be
batched (which is the original issue fixed by #6581).
References: #7880
- changes from version 1.4.33:
* orm
+ [orm] [usecase] Added with_polymorphic.adapt_on_names to the
with_polymorphic() function, which allows a polymorphic load
(typically with concrete mapping) to be stated against an
alternative selectable that will adapt to the original mapped
selectable on column names alone. References: #7805
+ [orm] [usecase] Added new attributes
UpdateBase.returning_column_descriptions and
UpdateBase.entity_description to allow for inspection of ORM
attributes and entities that are installed as part of an Insert,
Update, or Delete construct. The Select.column_descriptions
accessor is also now implemented for Core-only selectables.
References: #7861
+ [orm] [bug] [regression] Fixed regression in ?dynamic? loader
strategy where the Query.filter_by() method would not be given
an appropriate entity to filter from, in the case where a
?secondary? table were present in the relationship being queried
and the mapping were against something complex such as a ?with
polymorphic?. References: #7868
+ [orm] [bug] Fixed bug where composite() attributes would not
work in conjunction with the selectin_polymorphic() loader
strategy for joined table inheritance. References: #7801
+ [orm] [bug] [performance] Improvements in memory usage by the
ORM, removing a significant set of intermediary expression
objects that are typically stored when a copy of an expression
object is created. These clones have been greatly reduced,
reducing the number of total expression objects stored in memory
by ORM mappings by about 30%. References: #7823
+ [orm] [bug] Fixed issue where the selectin_polymorphic() loader
option would not work with joined inheritance mappers that don?t
have a fixed ?polymorphic_on? column. Additionally added test
support for a wider variety of usage patterns with this
construct. References: #7799
+ [orm] [bug] Fixed bug in with_loader_criteria() function where
loader criteria would not be applied to a joined eager load that
were invoked within the scope of a refresh operation for the
parent object. References: #7862
+ [orm] [bug] Fixed issue where the Mapper would reduce a
user-defined Mapper.primary_key argument too aggressively, in
the case of mapping to a UNION where for some of the SELECT
entries, two columns are essentially equivalent, but in another,
they are not, such as in a recursive CTE. The logic here has
been changed to accept a given user-defined PK as given, where
columns will be related to the mapped selectable but no longer
?reduced? as this heuristic can?t accommodate for all
situations. References: #7842
* engine
+ [engine] [usecase] Added new parameter Engine.dispose.close,
defaulting to True. When False, the engine disposal does not
touch the connections in the old pool at all, simply dropping
the pool and replacing it. This use case is so that when the
original pool is transferred from a parent process, the parent
process may continue to use those connections.
See also
Using Connection Pools with Multiprocessing or os.fork() - revised documentation
References: #7815, #7877
+ [engine] [bug] Further clarified connection-level logging to
indicate the BEGIN, ROLLBACK and COMMIT log messages do not
actually indicate a real transaction when the AUTOCOMMIT
isolation level is in use; messaging has been extended to
include the BEGIN message itself, and the messaging has also
been fixed to accommodate when the Engine level
create_engine.isolation_level parameter was used directly.
References: #7853
* sql
+ [sql] [usecase] Added new parameter
FunctionElement.table_valued.joins_implicitly, for the
FunctionElement.table_valued() construct. This parameter
indicates that the given table-valued function implicitly joins
to the table it refers towards, essentially disabling the ?from
linting? feature, i.e. the ?cartesian product? warning, from
taking effect due to the presence of this parameter. May be used
for functions such as func.json_each(). References: #7845
+ [sql] [bug] The bindparam.literal_execute parameter now takes
part of the cache generation of a bindparam(), since it changes
the sql string generated by the compiler. Previously the correct
bind values were used, but the literal_execute would be ignored
on subsequent executions of the same query. References: #7876
+ [sql] [bug] [regression] Fixed regression caused by #7760 where
the new capabilities of TextualSelect were not fully implemented
within the compiler properly, leading to issues with composed
INSERT constructs such as ?INSERT FROM SELECT? and ?INSERT?ON
CONFLICT? when combined with CTE and textual statements.
References: #7798
* schema
+ [schema] [usecase] Added support so that the
Table.to_metadata.referred_schema_fn callable passed to
Table.to_metadata() may return the value BLANK_SCHEMA to
indicate that the referenced foreign key should be reset to
None. The RETAIN_SCHEMA symbol may also be returned from this
function to indicate ?no change?, which will behave the same as
None currently does which also indicates no change. References:
[#7860]
* sqlite
+ [sqlite] [bug] [reflection] Fixed bug where the name of CHECK
constraints under SQLite would not be reflected if the name were
created using quotes, as is the case when the name uses mixed
case or special characters. References: #5463
* mssql
+ [mssql] [bug] [regression] Fixed regression caused by #7160
where FK reflection in conjunction with a low compatibility
level setting (compatibility level 80: SQL Server 2000) causes
an ?Ambiguous column name? error. Patch courtesy @Lin-Your.
References: #7812
* misc
+ [bug] [ext] Improved the error message that?s raised for the
case where the association_proxy() construct attempts to access
a target attribute at the class level, and this access
fails. The particular use case here is when proxying to a hybrid
attribute that does not include a working class-level
implementation. References: #7827

Hello openSUSE
according to our *roadmap openSUSE Leap 15.4 has a code submission
deadline for Release Candidate in a week from now on April 20th. This
corresponds with code submission deadline for SUSE Linux Enterprise 15
SP4 (15:00 CEST in their case). Only important bugfixes should be
accepted after this point.
As usual please let me know if you know about some "teaser" that might
be late on delivery, but we should consider adding it. Feel free to
report asap in https://code.opensuse.org/leap/features/issues
[0] https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Roadmap
Thank you very much for your understanding!

Hi,
autoconf 2.71 just landed in openSUSE:Factory and it looks
like a good 100 more packages are failing now than they
did before. I surely didn't look at all of them, but most
of them I've seen are basically all the same: calling
either autoreconf directly or triggering autoconf through
patching input files on very old sources.
The general advise is not to do that, but rather append
the output of autoconf to a patch. We also have autoconf213
in Factory, which might be more fitting to old projects.
Greetings, Stephan

==== postfix ====
Version update (3.6.2 -> 3.6.5)
- config.postfix fails to set smtp_tls_security_level
(bsc#1192314)
- Refreshed spec-file via spec-cleaner and manual optimizated.
* Added -p flag to all install commands.
* Removed -f flag from all ln commands.
- Changed file harden_postfix.service.patch (boo#1191988).
- update to 3.6.5
* Glibc 2.34 implements closefrom(). This was causing a conflict
with Postfix's implementation for systems that have no closefrom()
implementation.
* Support for Berkeley DB version 18.
- removed obsolete postfix-3.6.2-glibc-234-build-fix.patch
- Postfix on start don't run postalias /etc/postfix/aliases
(error open database /etc/postfix/aliases.lmdb). (bsc#1197041)
Apply proposed patch
- config.postfix can't handle symlink'd /etc/resolv.cof
(bsc#1195019)
Adapt proposed change: using "cp -afL" by copying.
- Update to 3.6.4
* Bug introduced in bugfix 20210708: duplicate bounce_notice_recipient
entries in postconf output. This was caused by an incomplete
fix to send SMTP session transcripts to $bounce_notice_recipient.
* Bug introduced in Postfix 3.0: the proxymap daemon did not
automatically authorize proxied maps inside pipemap (example:
pipemap:{proxy:maptype:mapname, ...}) or inside unionmap.
* Bug introduced in Postfix 2.5: off-by-one error while writing
a string terminator. This code passed all memory corruption
tests, presumably because it wrote over an alignment padding
byte, or over an adjacent character byte that was never read.
* The proxymap daemon did not automatically authorize map features
added after Postfix 3.3, caused by missing *_maps parameter
names in the proxy_read_maps default value. Found during code
maintenance.
- Update to 3.6.3
* (problem introduced in Postfix 2.4, released in 2007): queue
file corruption after a Milter (for example, MIMEDefang) made
a request to replace the message body with a copy of that message
body plus additional text (for example, a SpamAssassin report).
* (problem introduced in Postfix 2.10, released in 2012): The
postconf "-x" option could produce incorrect output, because
multiple functions were implicitly sharing a buffer for
intermediate results. Problem report by raf, root cause analysis
by Viktor Dukhovni.
* (problem introduced in Postfix 2.11, released in 2013): The
check_ccert_access feature worked as expected, but produced a
spurious warning when Postfix was built without SASL support.
Fix by Brad Barden.
* Fix for a compiler warning due to a missing 'const' qualifier
when compiling Postfix with OpenSSL 3. Depending on compiler
settings this could cause the build to fail.
* The known_tcp_ports settings had no effect. It also wasn't fully
implemented. Problem report by Peter.
* Fix for missing space between a hostname and warning text.
- Ensure postfix can write to home directory or server side
filtering wont work (sieve)
- Ensure service can write to /etc/postfix
- Added hardening to systemd service (bsc#1181400). Added
harden_postfix.service.patch
==== python-tqdm ====
Version update (4.63.1 -> 4.64.0)
Subpackages: python-tqdm-bash-completion python38-tqdm
- update to version 4.64.0:
* add contrib.slack (#1313)
- changes from version 4.63.2:
* rich: expose options kwargs (#1282)
* autonotebook: re-enable VSCode (#1309)
* misc docs typos (#1301, #1299)
* update dev dependencies (#1311)
==== rubygem-ruby-dbus ====
Version update (0.18.0.beta2 -> 0.18.0.beta3)
- 0.18.0.beta3
Bug fixes:
* Service-side properties: Fix Properties.Get, Properties.GetAll
for Array, Dict, and Variant types (gh#mvidner/ruby-dbus#105).
==== wondershaper ====
Version update (1.1a -> 1.4.1+git.20211015)
- Update to 1.4.1+git.20211015
- use Debian systemd paths
- add high priority host support
- Changes since version 1.4
- download limiting has been added from (removed in 1.3), it had
to be reworked the script now directs ingress to ifb virtual
interface where it is properly limited.
Source for this work are:
- https://gist.github.com/ole1986/d9d6be5218affd41796610a35e3b069c
- https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/advanced_traffic_control
- make upload or download limiting optional
- Changes since version 1.3
- move from CBQ to HTB queuing.
CBQ didn't cope well on a ~100Mbps link : individual downloads
were ceiling at 3Mbit/s. Moving to HTB allows to really use all
the available bandwidth, event with a single TCP connection,
and without any caveats on SIP telephony or link reactivity.
- Changes since version 1.2
- added command-line interface (through options and flags)
that didn't seem to be working before as the options were
hardcoded in the script.
- Run spec-cleaner
- Update project URL
- Drop rcwondershaper, wondershaper.service, wondershaper-1.1a.diff
- Drop sysconfig.wondershaper, wondershaper comes now itself with
a .conf file for configuration
- Add wondershaper-fix-conf-path.patch: using /etc/wondershaper
instead /etc/systemd
- Add _service files
- Add wondershaper-systemd-hardening.patch: bsc#1181400

Update description of job groups with insufficient description
Leap 15.5 - we have to aim for very early planning, the sooner the
better. This is supposed to be the last Leap 15.X release and we'll be
very conservative at taking new features in and work towards the new
ALP (Adaptable Linux Platform) that will succeed the Codestream 15.
Agreed on OSBoard to wait to for official ALP announcement.
Focusing on Leap Micro to SLE Micro migration in spare time
## openSUSE Tumbleweed
WSL/Tumbleweeed - openQA somehow stopped working 9 months ago
https://openqa.opensuse.org/group_overview/68 do we know why? This has
been asked by Jose (Cloud/WSL QA)
openSUSE:Factory build fail stats: 197 failed, 17 unresolvable (last

* gcc12 is providing the libgcc library since snapshot 0405; default
compiler switch will follow later
* autoconf 2.71 is in Tumbleweed, a bunch of new failures appeared
* Mozilla Firefox 99
* KDE Frameworks 5.93
* Samba 4.16 - some bug reports came in about service starting, but
shares not accessible (boo#1198309)
* Full RelRO is enabled in Tumbleweed (-z now); any new build will
enable this and coverage increase over the next weeks. Once we have
gcc12 as default, we will trigger a full rebuild of the distro
## Richard (Kubic/TW MicroOS)
Podman 4.0.x is in Factory
Pods in Podman 4.0.x are currently broken, due to catatonit 0.1.7 not
being in Factory. It's on the way, meanwhile rolling back is a valid
workaround
openQA tests for Pods in Podman is written, reviewed, just being held
back until catatonit 0.1.7 lands in Factory
Experimenting with MicroOS Desktop (GNOME) SelfInstalling images. If
experiments go well, next step will be to use TIU for OS updates.
Ultimately may obsolete the current YaST-based installation method for
MicroOS.
lkocman: should I file inclusion requests for Leap/SLE Micro?
Richard: no plan to have it there as of now.
Working on various interesting MicroOS research tracks:
- kiwi-less/container first VM image building Status: POC
- nerdctl support in toolbox Status: Broken prototype
- buildkit and its limit as a container builder
- TW-to-MicroOS conversion
- curl-minimal and making it default (like Fedora) Status:
Investigating
- Re-arranging Factory so products like MicroOS can build with
different PrjConf than Tumbleweed
- MicroOS Desktop using TIU instead of transactional-update (ie.
remove all individual rpm package management) (research not sure if
it's worth updating docs yet)
Please ping rbrown(a)suse.com if you are interested/have opinions on any
of the above, feedback/thoughts/existing knowledge is welcome.

* Fix busybox-sysvinit-tools has been selected over than sysvinit-tools
during installation, this causes display-manager fails to start, those
busybox-foo package should be blacklisted for the ftp-tree, but
Tumbleweed don't blacklist those packages and has no such issues,
wondering how did Tumbleweed avoding this issue. There is a bugreport
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1198137 if ship those package
would breaks user's system during system upgrade.
* Tweaked python macro definition in Backports per Scott, some python
module package was affected they have to fix their python_module usage
in the packaging level
lkocman: Coolo did a reorg of botmaster pipelines, due to lack of
permissions for the brand new LeapMicro group
## Guillaume - Arm
Tumbleweed:
* Factory:ARM recovered from GCC12 build failure. A new snapshot
should go to openQA later today or tomorrow.
* Upcoming GCC 12 tested for aarch64:
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:dirkmueller:branches:openSUSE:…
Leap 15.4:
* aarch64:
* Go compiler has been updated in SLE.
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1183043
* armv7:
* Enlightenment package still fails in rpmlint check (missing
whitelist?): https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1194047
lkocman: will reach out to simotek and Wolfgang
* scc product class looks wrong (Marina/Marcus) (for all non-intel
arches). x86_64 has OPENSUSE-BETA while for the others the class is
SLES-ARM64-BETA, SLES-PPC-BETA, SLES-Z-BETA.
https://sd.suse.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/SD-82355 (Internal,
Ticket with SCC team, team lead is aware of the request). Request is
now resolved. (lkcoman: Correction trello shows me that 2/4 items are
still pending).
lkocman to check if we could remove the firefox tests from the
42.X/15.0 upgrade test suite. It doesn't seem to happen outside of that
(same for TW).
lkocman will try to look into this
## Sarah - s390x
Tumbleweed:
* Is rolling
openSUSE Leap Beta:
* no issues at the moment
* fakeroot updated, that it is buildable for s390x again
* arpack-ng requires 12GB of memory for successful builds (constraints
expanded)
lkocman: slightly related topic, should we perhaps re-consider
recommended memory amount in Release Notes? I think we still recommend
something like 2G minimal / 4G or 8G optimal.
* KDE for s390x adopted
## Doug
* Expecting to published annual survey article. Result available at
https://en.opensuse.org/End-of-year-surveys/2021
* Will send Leap 15.4 release annoucement off for translation next week
* TSP
* Working on payment process with accounts payable
* oSC22
* 96 registrations, 48 submissions, 29 hours* CfP ends tomorrow
* Added sponsors and sent t-shirt design to printers
* Waiting on catering offering
* OSCAL oSC22
* 8 registrations, 7 submissions, 3 hours
* CfP goes until April 26
* Events
* FrOSCon
## Dirk
* Worked on Leap 15.4 python fallout, requires maintenance updates on
SLE side
* Looked at musl and other package updates for Factory
TODO for Dirk: could you outline recommended solution/approach for
next-gen? We could track it as ALP feature requests.
Dirk: We need some solution for 15.5 as shipping 3.6 by default is
embarassing. We should consider platform-python approach for SLE 15.4+
Dirk: will search for an existing feature (if any)
* Still on progress on rust 1.58/rust 1.59 / ghc issues on armv6 and
armv7: all have the same root cause, use of SWP/SWPB instructions which
is imperfectly emulated by the aarch64 host kernel. works fine with
armv6/v7 kernel.
* Another build time improvement on post-build-checks, ~ factor 10
speedup in one of the scripts leading to a few seconds saved on every
build. Still in Staging:B, last regression (crossing fingers) fixed
* Another build time improvement on rpms use of libmagic for creating
the binary packages. Factory 2-4 depending on ratio of text files
embedded in the binary package. Caused a regression found by Tumbleweed
testing, fix is submitted
* Currently working on ghc issues with aarch64 host kernel

Leap Micro 5.2 - Maintenance setup should be rather small, as we do
override only branding.
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Leap:Micro:5.2
Lubos to open a progres-o-o ticket for the maintenance update. Marcus
would also prefer as small overhead as possible. Adrian: we could have
a policy that if there is an updated for Micro it should go only to the
official code-stream even if the package didn't exist there yet.
Raised by Marcus: removal of SUSEConnect in favor of suseconnect-ng
lkocman: the obsoletes are set correctly, none of packages is installed
by default. And installation of suseconnect-ng currently removes
SUSEConnect. Documentation was updated accordingly. In my opinion this
is already good enough.

Summary of a call on the topic of Cisco's openh264 distribution for openSUSE
by Lubos Kocman 13 Apr '22
by Lubos Kocman 13 Apr '22
13 Apr '22
Hello openSUSE,
We've just had a meeting with Cisco regarding providing easy access to
the openh264 codec to the openSUSE users.
The outcome is that Cisco will help us with the redistribution side by
utilizing the ciscobinary.openh264.org host. There seems to be more
space for collaboration that could lead to the usage of OBS in some
more of Cisco's open-source-related processes. OBS seems to be a good
fit as we can cover builds for multiple distributions and image builds.
Big thanks to Neal Gompa for raising this topic. Neal was really
shining on the call :-)
We seem to found the right people for the job, and the rest of the
discussion will happen in the email thread with selected people.
I'm really excited about the current direction of conversation as Cisco
seems to be very enthusiastic about further collaboration with openSUSE
and Open Build Service.
Big thanks to Ann for making this meeting happen. And also big thanks
to Neal, Adrian, Fabian, and Bernhard for being our technical experts
on the call. Release management was represented on the call by me and
Stefan Weiberg.

==== gzip ====
Version update (1.11 -> 1.12)
- update to 1.12 (CVE-2022-1271,bsc#1198062):
* 'gzip -l' no longer misreports file lengths 4 GiB and larger.
Previously, 'gzip -l' output the 32-bit value stored in the gzip
header even though that is the uncompressed length modulo 2**32.
Now, 'gzip -l' calculates the uncompressed length by decompressing
the data and counting the resulting bytes. Although this can take
much more time, nowadays the correctness pros seem to outweigh the
performance cons.
* 'zless' is no longer installed on platforms lacking 'less'.
* zgrep applied to a crafted file name with two or more newlines
can no longer overwrite an arbitrary, attacker-selected file.
[bug introduced in gzip-1.3.10]
* zgrep now names input file on error instead of mislabeling it as
"(standard input)", if grep supports the GNU -H and --label options.
* 'zdiff -C 5' no longer misbehaves by treating '5' as a file name.
* Configure-time options like --program-prefix now work.
- refresh zdiff.diff, zgrep.diff, zmore.diff
