[opensuse-factory] What yast rpm maps icon-names to groups and modules in yast2-control-center?
by David C. Rankin 05 Jun '19
by David C. Rankin 05 Jun '19
05 Jun '19
All,
I'm working the loss of icons in yast2-control-center-qt3 from 15.0 -> 15.1
(http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1136295). I have been successful in
restoring most icons using the png icons and symlinks, e.g.:
yast-hardware-group.png -> yast-hardware.png
yast-misc-group.png -> yast-sysconfig.png
yast-network-group.png -> yast-network.png
yast-security-group.png -> yast-security.png
yast-software-group.png -> yast-software.png
yast-support-group.png -> yast-support.png
yast-system-group.png -> yast-system.png
yast-update-online-configuration.png -> yast-online_update.png
yast-update-online.png -> yast-online_update.png
The links are needed as there was somewhat of a random renaming of icon
basenames between 15.0 and 15.1. Some Yast package uses the basename of the
icon in searching for the appropriate icon to use. Does anyone know what
package holds this mapping so I can see what additional mappings were renamed?

All remaining packages have been fixed so they don't rely on the

Dear Community,
The package 'dumb' has been unresolvabled since February 1st, when
allegro wa supdate to version 5.x.
Nobody seems to care sufficiently enough for this to propose any kind
of fix, so I filed a delete request for 'dumb'. A bug report for 'dumb'
not failing remained unanswered.
The binaries of 'dumb' have vanished from Tumbleweed quite a while ago,
and apparently this was also no problem for anybody.
So, 'final call' - if somebody deeply cares for 'dumb', speak up now
(and provide a fix).
cheers
Dominique

I recently tried to migrate from SuSEfirewall2 to FirewallD on my
Tumbleweed desktop. The automatic migration failed completely. No
single port from my SuSEfirewall2 configuration was opened in FirewallD
after the migration.
Now I plan to migrate an openSUSE Leap server (from 42.3 over 15.0 to 15.1).
Networking on both computers (desktop and server) is very similar. Both
computers have a network interface eno1 and a bridge br0, which connects
the hardware interface eno1 with the KVM machines. There are additional
network interfaces to docker containers (docker0) and KVM machines
(br-<something>).
All docker containers and KVM machines need client access to the
Internet. That's why the firewall for the host needs a routing
configuration.
I found some blog articles about FirewallD configuration for routing.
But the blog articles I found only mention FirewallD direct rules for
configuring IPTables FORWARD rules. I can't find more high level
configuration tips.
How are you configuring routing with FirewallD?
Greetings,
Björn

[opensuse-factory] Any plan to solve the 'legal-auto' bottleneck?
by Christophe Giboudeaux 03 Jun '19
by Christophe Giboudeaux 03 Jun '19
03 Jun '19
Hi,
There are currently 175 requests waiting for a legal auto review (295 with the
automated review from one of the 'Cloud:Platform' repo).
The oldest requests are 2 months old, one is 2 months old (SR#690389).
The legal-auto 'group' contains 2 persons, the bus factor is critically low.
Are there plans to improve the situation?
Thanks.

[opensuse-factory] Image openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-i586-Snapshot20190529-Media.iso hangs after loading kernel

I tried to upgrade Tumbleweed for i586 using the mentioned iso image. The
system start loading the kernel, however it hangs afterwards. tty1 shows the
splash screen. tty3 and tty4 also show some output, but no ttyX can be used to
continue the system.
Anyone able to use this iso?

==== perl-IO-Socket-SSL ====
- Remove not needed README.Win32 from the files section.
- Cleaned spec file with spec-cleaner.
==== perl-Net-SSLeay ====
Version update (1.86_07 -> 1.88)
- Update to 1.88
1.88 2019-05-10
- New stable release incorporating all changes from developer
releases 1.86_01 to 1.86_11.
- From this release, Net-SSLeay is switching to an "odd/even"
developer/stable release version numbering system, like that of
many core modules (e.g. ExtUtils::MakeMaker): developer releases
will have an odd minor version number (and the usual "_xx" suffix),
and stable releases will have an even minor version number. This
means there is no Net-SSLeay 1.87.
- Summary of major changes since version 1.85:
- Mike McCauley has stepped down as maintainer. The new maintainers
are Chris Novakovic, Heikki Vatiainen and Tuure Vartiainen.
- The source code has moved from the now-defunct Debian Subversion
server (alioth.debian.org) to GitHub
(https://github.com/radiator-software/p5-net-ssleay).
- Net-SSLeay is provided under the terms of the Artistic License
2.0 - this has been the case since version 1.66, but references
to other licenses remained in the source code, causing ambiguity.
- Perl 5.8.1 or newer is now required to use Net-SSLeay. This has
already been the case for some time in practice, as the test
suite hasn't fully passed on Perl 5.6 for several years.
- Much-improved compatibility with OpenSSL 1.1.1, and improved
support for TLS 1.3.
- Fixed a long-standing bug in cb_data_advanced_put() that caused
memory leaks when callbacks were frequently added and removed.
- Support in the test suite for "hardened" OpenSSL configurations
that set a default security level of 2 or higher (e.g., in the
OpenSSL packages that ship with recent versions of Debian, Fedora
and Ubuntu).
1.86_11 2019-05-08
- Clarified Net-SSLeay's licensing terms: the module distribution has
been released under the terms of the Artistic License 2.0 since
version 1.66; references to other licenses have been removed. Fixes
RT#106314. Thanks to Kent Fredric for pointing out the ambiguity.
- Replace the HTTPS hosts in the external tests (some of which were
no longer online) with more resilient ones. Closes issue #26.
1.86_10 2019-05-04
- Use locally-generated certificate chain in local tests rather
than the Twitter one, which changes regularly and breaks the
test suite unnecessarily. Fixes RT#129201. Thanks to Petr Písa?
for the report and patch, and Steffen Ullrich for an alternative
patch suggestion.
- In t/local/09_ctx_new.t, rather than checking that the functions
(CTX_)get_min_proto_version and (CTX_)get_max_proto_version return
0x0000 (indicating the lowest and highest versions supported by
libssl respectively, which is not the case if a run-time
configuration is enforcing a different minimum or maximum), just
check whether the returned value is one of those mentioned on the
SSL_CTX_set_min_proto_version(3) man page. Partially fixes
RT#128025. Thanks to Slaven Rezi? and Dmytro Zagashev for the
downstream reports.
- Move from 1024-bit keys/certificates to 2048-bit keys/certificates
across the entire test suite. This removes the need to manually
set the security level to 1 in tests that used the old keys, and
fixes large numbers of test failures on modern Linux distributions
that set the minimum OpenSSL security level to 2. Fixes RT#126270
and the remainder of RT#128025. Thanks to Petr Písa? and Slaven
Rezi? for the downstream reports.
- In t/local/06_tcpecho.t and t/local/07_sslecho.t, connect to
127.0.0.1 instead of localhost. This fixes these tests when
executed inside a network sandbox that disrupts the behaviour of
gethostbyname(). Fixes RT#128207. Thanks to Kent Fredric for the
downstream report.
1.86_09 2019-03-12
- Add missing files to MANIFEST that prevented tests from passing
when installing from the 1.86_08 release tarball.
1.86_08 2019-03-12
- Add and fix functions needed to properly implement client
side session reuse for TLS 1.3 with using
CTX_sess_set_new_cb. Newly exposed functions:
SSL_SESSION_dup and SSL_SESSION_up_ref.
Fixed functions: i2d_SSL_SESSION and d2i_SSL_SESSION.
Thanks to Steffen Ullrich.
- Add functions functions to allow reading multiple pems from
file and creating untrusted chain: These functions allow you
to:
- Read in a PEM file with multiple certificates as a
STACK_OF(X509_INFO)
- Determine the size of the STACK_OF(X509_INFO) and value at
an index, which allows you to loop over the stack.
- Retrieve the X509 structure from each X509_INFO structure
in the stack.
Then you can create a new STACK_OF(X509) and push the X509
structures onto the new stack. You can then pass this
STACK_OF(X509) to X509_STORE_CTX_init which will allow you
to add additional untrusted certificates to the chain for
verification. Exposed functions are:
PEM_X509_INFO_read_bio
sk_X509_INFO_num
sk_X509_INFO_value
sk_X509_INFO_free
sk_X509_new_null
sk_X509_free
sk_X509_push
New function implemented by Net::SSLeay:
P_X509_INFO_get_x509
Thanks to Marc Reisner.
- Add functions and constants that are necessary to verify a
certificate using a hash directory outside of an SSL/TLS
connection. Newly exposed functions:
X509_STORE_CTX_init
X509_STORE_CTX_free
X509_STORE_new
X509_STORE_free
X509_STORE_add_lookup
X509_LOOKUP_hash_dir
X509_LOOKUP_add_dir
Newly exposed constants:
X509_FILETYPE_ASN1
X509_FILETYPE_DEFAULT
X509_FILETYPE_PEM
Thanks to Marc Reisner.
- Declare n_a in ssleay_set_psk_client_callback_invoke and
ssleay_ctx_set_psk_client_callback_invoke to avoid a compilation
error with Perl versions below 5.8.8. Fixes RT#128030. Thanks to
Graham Ollis for the report.
- Add X509_get0_serialNumber. Thanks to Marc Reisner.
- Enable Travis CI for LibreSSL 2.2.1, 2.7.5, 2.8.3 and 2.9.0
on Perl 5.20 and more recent.
- Expose the following functions for curve and group selection:
- CTX_set_ecdh_auto, set_ecdh_auto
- CTX_set1_curves_list, set1_curves_list
- CTX_set1_groups_list, set1_groups_list
Thanks to Steffen Ullrich.

Version update (0.10.6.1551887937.e42c270 -> 0.10.9.1557261720.32a1cdb)
Subpackages: obs-service-obs_scm obs-service-obs_scm-common

* fix encoding error for surrogates
* glibc-common was used up to FC23 and RHEL7
- Update to version 0.10.8.1556896538.0693a62:
* Compile python files before install
* change order in GNUMakefile to prefer python3
* More thorought spec file cleanup
* predefine python version in spec file for GNUMAkefile
- the current guessing code is finding python2 and then uses that,
because python2 still seems to be available in the build env,
as we already know which python version we want we can just pass
the path to make and skip the whole guessing.
- Update to version 0.10.7.1556277536.7e9915a:
* [dist] spec file: python3 only and multidist
* Git also uses the LANGUAGE variable
* centos_version and rhel_version are triple digits

2.04 2019-05-24
- Add a partial workaround for "Bizarre copy" errors (GH #11) that come when
attempting to look at arguments in the call stack. This is only a partial
fix as there are cases that can lead to a SEGV. Ultimately this needs to be
fixed in the Perl core. See
https://rt.perl.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=131046 for relevant
discussion. Fixed by pali. GH #21.

==== cppcheck ====
Version update (1.85 -> 1.86)
- Update to 1.86
* Many fixes in the template simplifier
* Several fixes in the abstract syntax tree.
Checking improvements:
* New check: passing address of char to function that expects a
strz
* New check: shadow variables
* Improved lifetime checking
* Improved STL iterators checking
* Improved data flow analysis
New libraries:
* zlib
* googletest
Addons:
* misra.py: Fixes for suppressions and exclusions
* namingng.py: New addon to check naming conventions. Rules are
specified in json file.
==== cups-filters ====
Version update (1.21.4 -> 1.21.6)
- Update to version 1.21.6:
* Bug fix release, mainly for cups-browsed to avoid crashes and
infinite printer removal/re-creation loops and spurious local
queues for local CUPS printers. Also expanded PostScript
interpreter bug workaround to more Apple LaserWriter models.
* cups-browsed: To find out whether a DNS-SD-discovered printer
is from the local machine, use not only the flags in the Avahi
lookup result but also check the host name.
* cups-browsed: When a local CUPS queue pointing to a remote CUPS
printer was removed and re-created to make it a permanent
queue, on_printer_deleted() was triggered by cupsd's
notification to re-create a lost queue. Now
on_printer_deleted() checks whether the queue is really gone
and only re-creates then.
* cups-browsed: When updating the CUPS queues, also removed and
unregistered queues and not only created queues got checked for
HTTP timeouts, which caused crashes on shutdown.
* pdftops: Use the PS interpreter of Poppler for all Apple
LaserWriter 16/600, 4/600, 12/640, 12/600, 12/660 as they all
seem to not work with Ghostscript's PS output.
* cups-browsed: On shutdown queues got removed even if they still
had jobs.
- Changes from version 1.21.5:
* Bug fix release, to build with Poppler 0.71 and with
cups-browsed converting temporary CUPS queues reliably to
permanent queues.
* cups-browsed: We cannot reliably determine whether a CUPS queue
is temporary, so we apply the procedure to make a temporary
queue permanent to any unshared queue.
* pdftoraster, pdftopdf, pdftoijs, pdftoopvp: Do not use the
Poppler-specific "GBool", "gFalse", "gTrue" any more, as
Poppler has switched to standard "bool", "false", "true" in
version 0.71.0.
==== elementary-xfce-icon-theme ====
Version update (0.13.1+20181113.14732d1b -> 0.13.1~git6.c377da86)
- Update to version 0.13.1~git6.c377da86:
* Add yast specific package-* icons
- Renamed version
