Hi, Before I even start making more progress than it's worth, I wanted to show you something I'm implementing, which I'm well aware will get me some slack, so it's better to be safe than sorry. Coming from other distros or OSes to openSUSE might be a little tough and I would like to make it easier. I heard a compliants about it almost everywhere, so it would be nice to clear out some misunderstandings before users start to use openSUSE. This is why I wanted to use Korora's awesome welcome app in openSUSE and adjust it so it fits nicely within our needs. https://github.com/openSUSE/openSUSE-welcome While it's far from complete, it already shows the basic operation of itself. Readme for first time users, links to social medias, encouragement to contibute etc. Problem here is however that for every current TW user, which updates after this would be added to default desktops patterns, it would show up on next reboot, which I know will be annoying to some, so this is both heads-up and call for contributions by interested parties :D It's also a great place to discuss what you would like to see added to this kind of application (zypper dup for TW, guidance on btrfs and snapper etc.), I would like both technicalities and community to be represented well within it. It follows "Have a lot of fun..." motto as best as I could make it so far. [opensuse-factory] Follow-up: prefer postgres96

Hi, following my mail request from last week on 'Prevent Postgres 10 from installation', it points that the solution to block postgres10 from installation is not ideal, as it breaks openQA testing So, the idea is to use update-alternatives in the %post section: update-alternatives --set postgresql /usr/lib/postgresql96 This results in an error message when the build is tested: .... [ 70s] ... testing GConf scriptlet presence [ 70s] ... running 50-check-installtest [ 70s] ... testing for pre/postinstall scripts that are not idempotent [ 71s] update-alternatives: error: no alternatives for postgresql ..... This error occurs even with Requires: postgresql10-server Requires: postgresql96-server means explicitly setting the requirement for both versions Any hints how to get this running? [opensuse-factory] Killing Group tag in .spec files

Hi all, We have pretty strict requirements how the group tags are shown. [0] But there are only 2 ways to use it, 1) yast view based on groups 2) using rpm -q to get information for the individual package. For all other purposes from zypp/packagekit this stuff is ignored. In general it does not really make sense to install packages based on groups. As Fedora already deprecated this tag it would make sense for us to drop it too [1][2]. Proposed change would be to kill the Yast UI and then have spec-cleaner to drop the part where needed. It won't break on older releases as it would simply have Undefined as a group. [opensuse-factory] osc equivalent of "git blame" or "git log -p"?

[opensuse-factory] systemd-resolved missing in Factory and LEAP 15?

Hi, is it intentional that systemd-networkd is included, but systemd-resolved is missing from Factory and Leap 15.0? I mean -- in most cases, systemd-networkd is completely useless without systemd resolved. Hi, since the introduction of qt5.11 one off my pet is no more building with errors like this one http://paste.opensuse.org/41821815 Is this known in QT world, or a missing build on our side ? I prefer to be sure we are green in our geeko land, before trying to fix upstream.
