[opensuse-factory] My TW desktop got broken after a recent update

From an update that was pushed to me inside of Gnome, my desktop got broken. When booting into Gnome I get a black screen with only two icons on it, one works and brings up dolphin. I found some postings from people using other distributions and I am fiddling around with what they where doing, but no joy so far. After reading the latest on this list, I am going to wait for the next snapshot hoping that will fix the problem. Until then I'm on the web learning what makes up a Linux desktop and how I may trouble shoot it. Luckily I can write this email in Thunderbird after logging in via a display manager that is still working into the bare bones Plasma desktop that TW kept on the system. I am running a fairly old ATI HD video card. I have used the following fstab entry for quite some time but a recent update, since 0923, it fails and I cannot determine the fail point. I have removed one parameter at a time but still cannot mount the partition. <fstab> //192.168.1.14/C-Share/ /home/paka/cifs cifs //credentials=/root/.smbcredentials,guest,nofail,_netdev,iocharset=utf8,sec=ntlm,uid=1000,gid=100,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777 //0 0 </fstab> </root/.smbcredentials> username=XXXXXXX password=XXXXXXX </root/.smbcredentials> the failure msg: mount error(22): Invalid argument Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) from /var/log/messages: No dialect specified on mount. Default has changed to a more secure dialect, SMB3 (vers=3.0), from CIFS (SMB1). To use the less secure SMB1 dialect to access old servers which do not support SMB3 specify vers=1.0 on mount. For somewhat newer servers such as Windows 7 try vers=2.1. CIFS VFS: Unable to select appropriate authentication method! [opensuse-factory] TW: no audio and too big stuff..

Hi, first installation of tw 2 problems: First, no audio. I've an Nvidia gtx 950 connected to a 26" (1920x1080)TV, no audio over HDMI.. So, installed Nvidia drivers and reboot, Now everythings is big ! Sddm login screen, and almost all Plasma desktop. Panel, right size, but kickoff menu cover half screen :( I've also configured Grub for 1920x1080 resolution.. Problem is more visiable with qt/plasma apps, nvidia settings and firefox are ok, only a big window title. Systemsettings, Yast, dolphin.. it's a pain.. [opensuse-factory] Need to click twice on shutdown to power-off TW

Hello, I've posted same question if I'm not wrong time ago but didn't get answers. I'm using TW and I've installed four DE: Gnome, Cinnamon and XFCE IceWM. It happens that when I want to power-off the machine I need to repeat the steps twice: click on exit, power-off. This is needed with all the above DE. Would like to know if somebody else has faced same behavior and if it is possible to correct it in the way of just clicking exit, power-off once to shutdown the machine. Thanks. P.S.
