[opensuse-factory] Cannot get KDE:KDE3 fully rebuilt

KDE:KDE3 now became so large (currently 440 packages) that it does not get fully rebuilt for Factory between Factory updates. I even cannot see which packages fail to build for Factory. Great job! This ROSA desktop looks superb, really. Please, could you also add Tumbleweed to the repos to compile for? Most OBS projects tend to forget it, and I always end up by cloning the projects I need. [opensuse-factory] RFC: Replacing default gzip and bzip2 command line tools

Hi: I would like to propose replacing (not removing) the default command line tools for compression, specifically "gzip" for "pigz" and "bzip2" for pbzip2. These tools are backward compatible and have dramatically better performance because they do compression in parallel utilizing current multiple CPU machines. Possible paths to do this a) Simple adding "update-alternatives" support to all the mentioned tools and let the user to decide, however we install pigz and pbzip2 by default. I do not endorse this way. b) Building pigz with executable name "gzip" and rename gzip to gnu-gzip, and bzip2 to bzip2.old or something similar. This is the way endorse c) As these tools are more frecuently used with "tar", make it to prefer the parralel versions, current gnu-tar already tries different implementations when the default ones are not present, would be a matter of altering the order if needed. [opensuse-factory] No global IPv6 addresses

After installation of openSUSE 12.1 M5 in VirtualBox, which installed the network using the traditional ifup method, only one eth0 interface, I changed the value of BOOTPROTO from dhcp to dhcp4 in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg- eth0, because I don't have a DHCP6 server in the network. This change will not start the DHCP6 client in my system, so the network is started faster. It only waits for DHCP4 to finish. However I do have a IPv6 router in the network, so after some time I should see one or more global IPv6 addresses via stateless autoconfiguration. But they do not appear. The value of /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/eth0/autoconf is 1. -- fr.gr. [opensuse-factory] bcma module for bcm43225 wifi card

Hi, I've just been testing factory on an Acer Aspire 1551. This machine has a bcm43225 wifi card. I'm on milestone 5 but so far the kernel doesn't seem to know to automatically load the bcma module. I have to mobprobe bcma every boot (or put it in modprobe.d/ somewhere) otherwise the wireless won't work. Should I raise a bug to get the bcma module loaded for that card by default? What component controls which modules are loaded for which hardware? [opensuse-factory] Cannot boot into graphical session

Hi! After a recent update to openSUSE 11.4 it does not any longer boot into graphical session. What I get is the fsck message that one of the hard drives is busy and cannot be checked and I find myself thrown into filesystem recovery console. The disk then can be checked and seems to work well. I can boot into Xorg by issuing telinit 5 command, but on the next boot I receive just the same error. I also found that even under recovery console if I unmount the hard drive in question, it will becomes mounted again in 5-7 seconds.
