it's ten month from the time I have submitted the first tomcat7 package
into Java:packages. Thanks to Johanner Renner, who add all integrating
stuff, I think package is ready for Factory, so I made a request 89868.
Not sure if it's not too late for 12.1, but hopefully not as this is
completelly new package, which does not break anything.
In any case the next step is what to do next. I would say having one
openSUSE release with both tomcat6 and tomcat7, but after that I will
drop tomcat6 and leave the tomcat7 only (as we did the same with
tomcat55 after openSUSE 10.3).
With modern internet connection speeds more time is spent on the application of the diffs than on downloading.
Maybe we should disable delta rpms by default?
