[opensuse-factory] new package: crawl

Hello, I'm new to this list and I want to propose the addition of the package 'crawl' to devel:openSUSE:Factory. It contains the Stone Soup version of Dungeon Crawl, a rogue-like game much like Nethack. It isreleased under GPLv2 and is one of the most popular rogue-likes and very actively developed. Still, it hasn't been packaged yet. I was working on the package for quite some time now and I think it's in a good shape to get some reviews on it. The game consists of a terminal-version and a SDL-based tiled version which are split across the packages 'crawl' and 'crawl-sdl'. [opensuse-factory] /usr/include/ files.h not found

Hey Group; I am seeing a strange problem while trying to compile a program. That is the headers in /usr/include are not being seen by the source #include <file.h> when requested. Trouble is, file.h is there and seems correct. Two files that are not found are semaphore.h and features.h. A "less" of them reflect normal files and permissions are root.root and 644. What might cause /usr/include not to be scene by the source. [opensuse-factory] New package xsynth-dssi waiting to go into factory

Hi, I've submit request 35780 from multimedia:libs xsynth-dssi waiting to go to factory since 26 March, I think I should have posted to this list as well and now I'm doing it. The message of the request is :- New package, xsynth-dssi is used by rosegarden4 example files and other multimedia apps. It was created 2004-07-16. I and another user have tested the openSUSE build with rosegarden. The author's upstream home page is http://smbolton.com/linux.html. I know of no security issues and one of the rosegarden authors has stated that he knows of no bugs. It's users are rosegarden users and users of other multimedia apps that accept dssi plugins. License: is GPL v2 or later Which contains all of the info requested by http://en.opensuse.org/Factory/Packaging#Adding_a_package_to_Factory I can add that the author is also responsible for hexter and is one of the authors of dssi. Next time I submit a new package I will post to the factory list as well. If this is neccessary I will update the wiki to indicate that. ATM it states " Preferably you introduce the package to the opensuse-factory list and point to that introduction in your submitrequest." "Preferably" doesn't really indicate this to me. Hi all, I posted a message a few days back regarding the 11.3 Milestone4 release and accessibility. Since the sound doesn't seem to be working on my machine with this release it would be interesting to see if the accessibility issues have been resolved before I submit a bug. Would anyone be interested in booting the Gnome live CD, pressing F9 to get the talking menu and press enter on Gnome live and see if the Orca screen reader starts after the CD has finished booting? Hello list-mates, As some of you may know, I've been working on making Oxygen icons available on Apache, and I would like to get some feedback. Do you see any unrecognizable icons at http://www.javierllorente.com/tmp/ ? I want to make it easy to enable. Quoting from the README file included in the apache2-icons-oxygen package In order to enable this collection of icons on Apache, you have to add Include /etc/apache2/mod_autoindex-defaults-oxygen.conf (Apache-wide) to /etc/apache2/httpd.conf. Do not forget to comment the line Include /etc/apache2/mod_autoindex-defaults.conf and comment the following as well in /etc/apache2/default-server.conf Alias /icons/ "/usr/share/apache2/icons/" <Directory "/usr/share/apache2/icons"> Options Indexes MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> (Virtual hosts) to your virtual host configuration file (usually located under /etc/apache2/vhosts.d/). Is there a better way to do it? My idea is to make Apache's directory listing more beautiful. It's already part of the Apache Build Service project and if you like it, I could submit it to Factory. (required by librcc) Library for autodection charset of Russian text. LibRCD is used for encoding auto-detection. It is optimized to handle very short titles, like ID3 tags, file names, etc, and provides very high accuracy even for short 3-4 letter words. Current version supports Russian and Ukrainian languages and able to distinguish UTF-8, KOI8-R, CP1251, CP866, ISO8859-1. 2. librcc - Russian Charset Conversion Library. [opensuse-factory] Opensuse 11.3 mileston 4 accessibility help

Hi all, Could someone please try this before I file a bug so I know that it's not my system that's causing this problem. I am visually impaired, just for your info. I am a quite new user of Opensuse and I know that in some previous releases one could do the following: I have downloaded the Gnome live CD. Booted the cd, then at the boot screen I pressed F9 to get the talking menu coming through my PC speaker. I then pressed enter on Gnome live and waited a few minutes for the system to boot. The screen reader for Gnome should come up talking, Orca but nothing happens and i have no sighted assistance. Or did I miss something? Will I need to do something else after the system has finished booting? Hey Group; Anyone have an idea what causes /etc/X11/xorg.conf to fail when the video "Driver" nv is replaced with nvidia. All, Per Petr Uzel below parted 2.2 went into factory this morning. That should mean that milestone 5 has everything to support 4K physical sector disks. ie. kernel, util-linux, parted all should have support for aligning partitions with the underlying topology. I don't know if the yast-partitioner module calls parted or whether it uses libparted instead. Either way I hope that we can get that class of hardware testing started soon. I don't yet have any 4K physical sector drives to test with, but I believe some are available within Novell. Hopefully that testing will include installs etc. and not just partitioning data drives. Hi all, -as I announced earlier, devel repository for virtualbox-ose is now in Virtualization repo and submitrequest (with a lot of changes) against Factory created -repository Virtualization:VirtualBox will be dropped soon -vboxtools and vdfuse will be moved to Virtualization repo (Virtualization:VirtualBox_tools also possible, we have to decide) -created Virtualization:VirtualBox_backports for older products (I don't want to mess up Virtualization repo with additional packages needed for build) -we have to cover newly splitted virtualbox-ose-guest-kmp package for: liveCD,NET install CD and installation process inside virtualbox, so I created bnc#593326 to handle this Suggestions or submitrequests are welcome :) bye michal

Hi community, today I updated Base:System/pm-utils to 1.3.0 (sr 36775 for Factory) - this release has two major advantages: * no HAL - with e8d0b58 [1] it's is fully capable to use udisks/upower * video quirks are included in pm-utils itself I also ported suse additions to udisks/upower/whatever and also partially ported [2] the recently removed powersave command to the upower D-BUS interface - this port is not completed, as I did not find an equivalent of some HAL functionality (CPU scheduling classes), so if anyone will able to point me, it'd be great. Please let me know if you'll discover some bug. Hi all! [opensuse-factory] [X11:Utilities] Getting xdiskusage into X11::Utilities

The xorg list seems to be pretty derelict, so I've copied to the Factory list too. xdiskusage was recently accepted into openSUSE:Factory:Contrib. I have now submitted an OBS request (36014) to request its addition to X11:Utilities, which looked like an appropriate devel project. xdiskusage, if you've never used it, is a lightweight disk usage visualisation application. The original upstream is at http://xdiskusage.sourceforge.net/ but after some limited discussion with the sole developer on that project[1] I forked the project onto a Google Code project, so that I could make some build fixes, and release a new tarball. This Google Code project is here: https://code.google.com/p/xdiskusage-buildfix/ The license for the code is GPLv2+. Cheers, John. [1] No releases in the SF file release system. Hello, I'm working on updating syslog-ng to 3.X (where X=1 right now...). When testing my package on factory, I ran into yet another apparmor related problem. Syslog-ng starts, but throws the following message, when apparmor is enabled (default...): linux-6jkh:~ # rcsyslog start Re-Starting syslog servicessyslog-ng: Error setting file number limit; limit='4096'; error='Operation not permitted' Any hint, what I should add to the apparmor profile in factory? (11.2 does not have this problem with the same profile...).
