Hi Folks,
I'm trying to install openSUSE Tumbleweed on a laptop and the installation errors early on when its trying to refresh the https://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/tumbleweed repository details.
The error message reported is:
---snip---
Wrong Digest
The expected checksum of file /var/tmp/AP_0xp8UPnm/repodata/susedata.xml.gz is fa47ae8244fe7640f149d28964e604bf7e756da989d7e520f67216a96bb6cfb2, but the current checksum is 1f4dc420bfbf3d1b423cd7c4e1ca6aa25d7a13daff70c64e412f0ed449602406.
The file has been changed by accident or by an attacker since the repository creator signed it. Using it is a big risk for the integrity and security of your system.
Use it anyway?
[] Do not show this message again
[ YES ] [ NO ]
---snip---
I can consistently reproduce this on the laptop as well as in a Virtualbox VM.
Others have also experienced the same issue:
- https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2020-08/msg00329.html
I've logged a bug report for it (https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1175968) but it may be misfiled as I wasn't sure which component was at fault.
Is there anything I can try to unblock the installation short of clicking the [ YES ] button and using the repo with the wrong digest? I am hesitant to do so as this may be a security issue.
regards,
Jinesh--

Has anyone reading here found an acceptable substitute for Artha ?
Something that can tolerate minor misspellings,
and provide the correct spelling, and perhaps a simple list of
definitions? A little app that can live in the panel?

Hello!
Leap 15.1 / btrfs / xfce
On attempted multi-kernel install of 5.8.4-1 using yast2 from
Kernel:/stable/standard I get:
Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: Free diskspace below /boot:
86330128 blocks error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic
error: kernel-default-5.8.4-1.1.g64fe492.x86_64: install failed
I removed a couple of older kernels (using yast2) thinking it might
actually be a space problem somehow/somewhere but no joy, get same
message after. At this point I had just 2 installed kernels remaining,
5.8.3-1 (running) and 5.8.1-3.
So then I tried to add the standard-issue 4.12.14 kernel and that
installed fine so it seems something particular to 5.8.4-1 that is the
problem here.
What should I be looking for/at?
Thanks.

I downloaded the file convertall-0.7.5.tar.gz and untarred it, producing

# What is ConvertAll?
Why write another unit converter? There are plenty of them out there.
Well, I
couldn't find one that worked quite the way I wanted.
With ConvertAll, you can combine the units any way you want. If you want to
convert from inches per decade, that's fine. Or from meter-pounds. Or from
cubic nautical miles. The units don't have to make sense to anyone else.
# More Info
See the [ConvertAll homepage](http://convertall.bellz.org) for more info.
There is also an [online version](http://convertall.bellz.org/js),
written in
JavaScript (see the doug-101/ConvertAll-js repository for the source code).
then I try to install the file:
DESKTOP-4FH9U1P:/home/doug/Downloads/ConvertAll # zypper install
convertall.desktop
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
'convertall.desktop' not found in package names. Trying capabilities.
No provider of 'convertall.desktop' found.
Resolving package dependencies...
Nothing to do.
This is a useful program. What am I doing wrong? (It seems to be in some
repo somewhere ready to use, and I think I had it back in 2019, but I
don't know how to get it now, and I don't know why the zypper install
command doesn't work here.)

My laptop crashed almost two months ago and I just got it up again. 'zypper dup' produces over 7000 files to update ending in a long list of file conflicts, if I abort all the download time was a waste but if I press on I get an unbootable system. What can I do WITHOUT reinstalling?

TW's rpms are no longer readable by MC. How can I get any binaries or all content
out of a TW rpm into the current directory? Is there some config option available
to enable MC to read/extract them?

I found kfind on the internet, and downloaded it to my reinstalled
Tumbleweed. However, I want it on the desktop,
and it will only go to the panel, unlike in the past. There does not
seem to be a way to change it. I suppose it must be in
the directory itself, somewhere. I'd like to find the file in the
terminal and find the problem and modify the text, but there
seems to be another problem with this version of TW: it doesn't
recognize the instruction locate. How can I
get this important command back? (This version is 2020-0826)
Thanx for your assistance--doug
Inherited an Iphone and although I am an open-
source adapt, I have started using this phone.
Only problem is that I cannot connect the phone to
my Tumbleweed PC.
There seems to be a possibility for androids but I
have not found something for Iphones.
Could use some help.
