Hi,
I've got an odd problem, that probably deserves a bug report, but I
don't know where to start looking for evidence.
I'm running openSUSE 15.0 "transactional server" on a vps. I had freenet
daemon installed, running as a dedicated "freenet" user.
What happened is that the "freenet" user suddenly disappeared. It's not
mentioned in /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow nor /etc/group. If I do "ls -l" in
/home/freenet, there are numbers instead of owner and group. Service
obviously fails to start.
I had a look at logs, but there's nothing alarming.
Do you have any clues, what could go wrong?

Hi list,
had thought that all SSD actually had like 4kilobytes as physical
sector size and only 512bytes emulation stuff.
My leap 15.0 machine upgraded the hardware of the root disk to SSD
from HDD. fdisk -l now shows 512/512 for both logical and physical of
this root disk.
With the help of gparted distro, I have migrated, copied, over the /
and /home partitions from the old HDD to the new empty SSD. Created,
enlarged the partition sizes, and marked the / as bootable, and then
used the rescue system of Leap 15.0 bootmedia to mount all that stuff,
addtl proc sys and dev ans --rbind and then chroot into the system.
Then added some grub2 stuff to make the mbr bootinfo be written again
and at the end mkinitrd.
All went basically fine (using /dev/disk/by-uuid/ mostly everywhere in
/etc/default/grub and in /etc/fstab ).
I basically followed the suse.com KB articles:
<https://www.suse.com/de-de/support/kb/doc/?id=7018639>
<https://www.suse.com/de-de/support/kb/doc/?id=7018126>
But now I am wondering if I need to consider more stuff when making
the switch from HDD to SSD, or did I do bascially just fine?
fdisk shows as 512/512 as stated above and the bootlogging (dmesg -e
or journalctl -b ) show some weird stuff for this new SSD early during
bootup with those ata.1 lines printing some drivenotready or something
I can look up later to be precise.
This error didnt show when using the HDD. Now I wonder if my SSD is
too new for the sata chipset of the rather oldish motherboard or if
something else is missing.
Everything is working as AHCI according to bios and settings but I
never mess much with this.
Any hints into this?
TY.

Hi,
Today's update of LibreOffice to 6.2.0.3:

Test with a fresh table, sort A and B, result: sort window gets torn.

Hi,
I just wanted to see what I have in my private repository, and launched
zypper search -s -r Selfcompiled
It just ignores ignores the '-r' and lists packages from *all* enabled repos.
Which is some 50000 :((
Is it too late and I'm doing something wrong, or is the latest zypper broken?

Hi,
I get a popup (paste fails, hand copy):
Probing LUKS failed
Unexpected situation found in the system.
Click below to see more details (English only)
Continue despite the error
[continue][abort][details]
Details gives another popup:
command '/sbin/udevadm info '/dev/disk/by-uuid/39334baa-94...." failed:
stderr:

Ideas?
(I do have the save_y2logs output to report a bug)
There is no /dev/disk/by-uuid/39334ba*, it corresponds to a disk that is not currently connected:
cer@Telcontar:~> grep 39334ba /etc/crypttab

Hi,
I tried this, which had been working for a decade at least and is documented:
Telcontar:~ # cd /usr/src/linux
Telcontar:/usr/src/linux # make cloneconfig
make[1]: *** No rule to make target 'cloneconfig'. Stop.
make: *** [Makefile:569: cloneconfig] Error 2
Telcontar:/usr/src/linux #
What?
The documentation still says to use it:
/usr/share/doc/packages/kernel-source-4.12.14-lp150.12.45/README.SUSE:
«In addition, the running kernel exposes a gzip compressed version of its
configuration file as /proc/config.gz. The kernel sources can be
configured based on /proc/config.gz with ``make cloneconfig''.»
So, what should I use instead to get the same result? Perhaps copy /proc/config.gz to /usr/src/linux and expand it?

I get these errors in the cups log, and a popup error when I print:

It is not the first time I see that error, but I do not remember what package should contain them, and google doesn't find them.
However, printing works.
