Hi all
I have a problem with Leap 15.1 and went to sign up with openSUSE forums. I
received a validation email, which contained neatly ordered garbage but no
validation code. The sender of this email is the webmaster from microfocus,
but an email to that address just bounces. I have since discovered that
openSUSE and microfocus are no longer associated.
So, given that the validation process is broken, how do I get signed up to the
forums?
Regards
JT

Hello,
after clean fresh install of tumbleweed my bond-interface
(4x1Gb Intel 82576) performs only about 60MB/s.
All interfaces are up with the correct speed,
no errors shown,
all 4 IFs show packets with correct size,
balacing mode is set correctly.
Same config with Leap 15.1 made about 260MB/s.
At the moment I operate with only one of the four interfaces up
and get about 116MB/S what everyone would expect.
Someone any idea ?
best
Peter

I have an IPEVO webcam / document camera, which used to work fine on
Tumbleweed.
Now it no longer does.
In dmesg I see the following:
[ 7.508511] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device IPEVO Point 2 View (1778:0214)

No /dev/video0 or /dev/video is created.
The above is with kernel 5.3.12-2-default.
Has anyone had similar problems or does anyone know how to solve this?
Unfortunately I don't know exactly when (in terms of Tumbleweed
versions) this stopped working.

Hello,
entering something like "9000" in the MTU-field isn't written to the
/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg- file.
Hence interface MTU isn't set correctly.
Editing the ifcfg-file and restarting network sets the MTU,
even after reboot.
Any known issue in yast2 ?
best,
Peter

Hello everyone:
I have installed OpenSuse Tumbleweed. Normally i use dosemu for a program dos
writen.
I perform the updates from time in time ( 3~4 months) In the last week i
upgrades the system and DOSemu stop working.
my_pc> dosemu
LOWRAM mmap: Invalid Argument
I search on internet and all problems are very old of years 2012, 2014 and i
was working until december of 2019.
I try the following:
1) from: https://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-msdos/msg01250.html (2010)
Disable 'apparmor' completely. Use the kernel boot option 'apparmor=0'
to achieve that. (add it to /boot/grub/menu.lst).
2)from https://sourceforge.net/p/dosemu/bugs/398/ (2012)
sysctl -w vm.mmap_min_addr=0
The warning disapear, but the dosemu never start and i cant find a log o clue
about what is happening. The file .dosemu/boot.log is updates without errors
only a warning about vm86 not present.
3) run dosemu as root. the same as 2) but sysctl is not required.
I am completely loosed, any clue will be welcome
Best Regards
Christian
echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/mmap_min_addr

Hey, does NetworkManager randomize the MAC of a wireless interface in
openSUSE Tumbleweed now?
And if so, how can I turn that off so it uses the default MAC of the device?
regards
Hi,
I have an AMD Ryzen system and when I start FAClient I see a
message about not
finding the opencl libs. I looked on the folding at home web site about
the newer foah and they
mention using opencl.. Should I install OpenCL? Which files should I
install? I am using Tumbleweed.
The client runs pretty fast now so that's why I'm asking. Thanks..

Hi *,
since last Friday NetworkManager is switching back and forth between
CONNECTED_SITE and CONNECTED_GLOBAL every about 5-10 minutes.
The reason is
wget http://conncheck.opensuse.org:80
--2019-12-22 10:56:12-- http://conncheck.opensuse.org/
Resolving conncheck.opensuse.org (conncheck.opensuse.org)... 195.135.221.140, 2620:113:80c0:8::16
Connecting to conncheck.opensuse.org (conncheck.opensuse.org)|195.135.221.140|:80... failed: Connection refused.
Connecting to conncheck.opensuse.org (conncheck.opensuse.org)|2620:113:80c0:8::16|:80... failed: Network is unreachable.
This happens on all of my local machines, regardless of an active
firewall.
Is there a problem with this site or can it be something on my side?
System ist openSUSE Tumbleweed, latest snapshot.
TIA.
Bye.
Michael.

Hi,
There have been no news on opensuse web site for a while - is the website broken
or abandoned? What does that mean for the openSuSE project - is it dead/dyeing?
I am just worried about the project:
* no news/announcements
* 15.0 packages seems to be no longer updated, although 15.1 is still updated
* the kernel is pretty old in 15.1 .... no visible plans to update it
* will there will be openSuse 15.2, is it being developed? When?
Maybe all is great, it just does not seem that way from looking at the website.
Does anybody know?
Thanks,
Tomas

I support a friend who uses a 32bit system, so he needs to use Tumbleweed.
After the latest upgrade the Wifi interface, a USB dongle, does not start
anymore. This was also a problem in August, but a patch in
wpa_supplicant.service made it work again. See bug report 1144670. However
after the latest upgrade Wifi does not start anymore and that patch does not
work anymore. I could reproduce the issue on my own 64bit desktop with a
little bit different USB dongle.
It looks like there is timing problem. The error message from wickedd/
wpa_supplicant is:
wickedd[1268]: ni_wpa_interface_bind(wlp0s22f2u2): Interrupted system call
wickedd[1268]: wpa_supplicant doesn't know interface wlp0s22f2u2
There is a proper file /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlp0s22f2u2 .
