15.5, wireguard, resolve-dns.sh script not available? not needed anymore?

Support, a very simple 15.5 with wireguard, dynamic chaning public ipv4 addresses as endpoint hostname:port i am rather new to this, yet I am not aware if this script for tackling this situation > <https://github.com/WireGuard/wireguard-tools/blob/master/contrib/reresolve-…> is still part of the whole deal, as the wireguard-tools package rpm, does not list this file as its content on leap 15.5 is this deprecated? as maybe > <https://github.com/WireGuard/wireguard-monolithic-historical/blob/master/co…> hints? or whatever that state there means? After update to KDE6 my SDDM seems broken. Complains about missing fader.qml module

the current theme cannot be loaded due to the following errors: file:///usr/share/sddm/themes/Shell_Sddm44/Main.qml:114:9:Type WallpaperFader unavailable. file:///usr/share/sddm/themes/Shell_Sddm44/components/WallpaperFader.qml: 28.1:module "org.kde.plasma.private.sessions" is not installed. Did anybody run into this and what module has to be installed, I looked through the sddm and plasma packages but it seems all complete. Also I did not encounter any "qml fader" module in the package search. Suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you. Happy Eastern for who likes, seasonal greetings to all the others.

In TW, Slowroll and 15.6, maybe in 15.5 too, these three packages are being added, if not already installed, along with ordinary updates, not as a consequence of "fully" upgrading via zypper dup. This is in spite of 'solver.onlyRequires = true' in zypp.conf. Is anyone aware of what is demanding their installation? Or, what rpm or zypper search would report the cause? When I read through the rpm man page, I'm usually flummoxed by the descriptions of what things like --whatrequires, --whatrecommends, --whatsuggests, --requires and not often get a hoped for response I can logically understand. e.g.: # rpm -q --whatrequires pipewire-pulseaudio no package requires pipewire-pulseaudio # rpm -q --whatrecommands pipewire-pulseaudio wireplumber-audio # rpm -q --whatsuggests pipewire-pulseaudio patterns-base-base # rpm -q --whatrequires pulseaudio-setup no package requires pulseaudio-setup # rpm -q --whatrequires pulseaudio-utils no package requires pulseaudio-utils Why isn't solver.onlyRequires = true preventing the three packages from being installed? Plasma 6 - some more issues

Hi, I have updated my TW in between to Plasma 6, and notice some more issues: - Login (independent if X11 or Wayland) hangs, mostly after a previous logout. On X11 CRTL-ALT-Backspace helps, on wayland that seems not to work - I cant access webdavs-shares out of dolphin (X11/Wayland) - when a wireshark connection is configured, it is started during startup - whether there is a network connection already or not. This may be an existing issue from plasma5 Can anyone confirm? Cheers Axel

Discover now displays notifications

Hi Since the big update to QT6, i'm now getting notifications from "Discover" - how can i stop this from actually starting? I've set "SystemSetting/Software Update" (i presume this is "Discover") to manual update but not sure if this actually stops it from startng up and running. Kalpa: hidpi console text too small

I installed Kalpa yesterday and encountered a few small issues. On Tumbleweed (and other distributions) I can set "video=..." as kernel parameter during installation (or afterwards) to change the console screen resolution for my laptops with hidpi screens. To be specific, I and my wife both have Dell XPS 13's. With Kalpa on my laptop, this did not work. The console is still 3840x2400. /proc/cmdline shows the video parameter I set (video=1920x1080@60). This is the correct setting and Tumbleweed, Debian, and Fedora have always honored that parameter. I will add that, for a brief (maybe 2-3 seconds) I can see two lines of output at the correct resoultion, but the screen quickly changes resolution. My hunch is that this is due to the hand-off between grub and vconsole. I always use my onboard TPM2 for FDE. Without that, a typical user would have no idea when/where to enter their password. When the tiny text stopped scrolling on the first boot, I did know why. Again, a typical user (like my wife) probably would not. Recreating Index Databases

Hi, I am using openSUSE TUmbleweed. What is the general principal and thought/s about recreating the 'index databases' on the machine with (# rpm --rebuilddb)? Is there another command or systemd service that should be run after this? Can this cause damage to the existing paths, files or directories already in place? Are there known negative effects of the command? To me it seems like perhaps a command like 'zypper clean' or 'zypper ref' even though obviously different in what it does. help me understand when and why updates to packages get released - with then changelog e.g. from still 2022

Dear fellow Support, sometimes, I come across (zypper ref, zypper lu) updates, that, after being installed and applied, a rpm -qi pkgnamehere --changelog show like ancient changelog entries even though the package was just momentarily updated and installed. I fail to understand to what changed at all or why this package has been released rebuilt updated and offered. then I am trying to figure out why such a package or update or any package at all has been released to the opensuse leap user base in the first place. any takers? thank you very much for helping me understand these types of releases. e.g. > zypper up > The following 2 packages are going to be upgraded: yast2-theme yast2-theme-breeze 2 packages to upgrade. Not able to print since last versions of TW

Hi, Since the last versions of TW, I can't print anymore. If I try o print from Okular, it reports Ghostscript is needed for the print preview and postscript support but it has security issues and is not installed by default. If you only open trusted documents, you can install the 'okular-spectre' package. That is not true, ghostscript is installed (v. 10.02.1-1.3). If I try to print a test page from cups, after a short while I get "unable to locate printer." bluetooth headphone not in audio devices

Hi, Not for the first time, I have trouble connecting a headphone as an audio device. In my case, it is a SennheiserLE-PXC 550-II. Up till now, in these cases I ignored the problem, until some new snapshot made it automagically go away. I can make a bluetooth connection to this device, and it is referred to as an audio device, but it doesn't show up in the list of audio devices. Pipewire doesn't see it, either. How can I convince the system to treat it as an audio device? I'm on TW, yesterday's snapshot. Any help would be greatly appreciated! regards, Jogchum
