[opensuse-support] Okular Version 1.10.3 - question

HI I can quite happily print a small selection of pages from a PDF using Okular to a printer but it i try to do that but use "Print to a file (PDF)" instead of a physical printer, it doesn't work as i get the whole file again. [opensuse-support] printing problems

Installed (I think) b/w printer HP m201 and color printer Epson WP4530 some weeks ago. First the b/w laserjet, a day or two later, the Epson. When I first installed the laserjet b/w printer, I tested it and it printed. After installing the Epson, which never printed, got a problem with the laserjet. At first, I was getting a failure message that seemed to indicate that there was an open file in the print queue. Now I get nothing-- no message, and no print. Found a command that was supposed to clear the laserjet, but nothing happened, and I forget what the command was anyway. When I try to print from the Epson, I get a message, "There are conflicts in duplex settings. Do you want to fix them?" I check the YES box, but it doesn't help. I can print to either printer, and scan from the Epson, from another computer running an older system--PCLOS--from about 5 years ago, so the printers and the network are OK. System is TW, installed 26 June 2020 and updated most recently within the last week. (I can ping both printers from this machine so the network's not the problem.) Note: this is a new computer and a new version of the OS and bears no relation to any communications from early in 2020 or prior. That old computer went toes up in May. [opensuse-support] Compile Tumbleweed kernel to add CONFIG_XFS_ONLINE_SCRUB

Hi all, I haven't needed to compile a kernel from source for years, so I'm a bit rusty. Running Tumbleweed, with the latest 5.7.11-1 kernel (from the Main OSS repo, not kernel:head) and the matching kernel-devel, kernel-default-devel, kernel-syms and kernel-headers packages installed (all x86-64 except kernel- devel which is noarch). I copied the relevant source tree to a subfolder in my home directory, and copied /boot/config-5.7.11-1-default to .config in that folder. Ran make mrproper, make oldconfig, make xconfig. Enabled the additional options that I wanted (Filsystems->XFS->CONFIG_XFS_ONLINE_SCRUB and CONFIX_XFS_ONLINE_REPAIR), saved and quit. Ran 'make -j 16 bzImage", and got: scripts/kconfig/conf --syncconfig Kconfig make[1]: *** No rule to make target 'arch/x86/entry/syscalls/syscall_32.tbl', needed by 'arch/x86/include/generated/asm/syscalls_32.h'. Stop. make: *** [arch/x86/Makefile:217: archheaders] Error 2 make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... Got exactly the same result with 5.7.7-1-default and 5.7.11-1-default kernels. What am I missing or doing wrong? The only online info that I could find for compiling openSUSE kernels is from 2013, and I'm not sure how much of that applies to TW. Or should I just raise a bug report/feature request to have these options (and F2FS) enabled in the default kernel for future builds? [opensuse-support] daft question about widgets coming up

Hi How can you get the release number of an installed (via + Add Widgets) widget such as lock/logout etc? The configure option for it does not contain anything like a release number. [opensuse-support] what to do about unsecure router

Hello, Ok so I have no idea what Im doing on this so I thought I should ask someone here. When I logged into the router I was warned it is insecure and someone could read what I was writing and I should make it secure. So I found out I could not log in with https. I checked on this and found out I would need a cert...not a self signed cert. This is where the trouble started as I found out the self signed cert I used was unusable. The other things are I can dual boot with win 10 or TW. Also I have two routers. The one from the ISP and another plugged into that. Now first do I need to set this up with cert security? Second do I need this at all? I got the a cert from asus (as in the router).
