Hi, Would it be an option to add centOS repositories to the BS? Since there are already fedora repositories I assume it would be kinda straightforward to add a centos repository as well. Centos 5 is the latest release. [opensuse-buildservice] Build Service login error

Hello, I'd like to update some packages in my repository home:ferichter, but I cannot login to the Build Service. I filed a bug (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=306247, it shows the error message by the web client software), but for two months now, it is still in state "new". What should I do? Simply register as a new user? [opensuse-buildservice] RPMs and detached signatures!

Where is it documented how the data in a RPM is laid out? What data is signed in a signed RPM? The reason I ask this question is the following: In keeping with the original UNIX "many small tools" philosophy, imagine the following 2 utilities: rpmdetachsig: Takes a rpm together with the gpg keys and a passphrase from user it goes through the exact same procedure as "rpm --addsign" goes through but instead of creating a signed rpm, creates a DETACHED signature for the rpm's data. The detached signature is output to a separate file. rpmadddetachedsig: takes an rpm together with the detached signature produced by rpmdetachsig, and creates another rpm but signed, just like it had been signed by "rpm --addsign" in one operation. Using these utilities, the buildservice could implement the following procedure for developers that want to sign their rpms: Developers download their rpm and use rpmdetachsig to create a detached signature. They then upload the detached signature back to the build service. The Build service adds the developer's detached signature to the published rpm (with rpmadddetachedsig). The build service also adds its own signature to the rpm to indicate that the rpm was indeed built with the data on the build service. This procedure (if possible) has the following advantages: The developers never have to trust the build service with their secret keys, because the signature creation is done on the developer's own computer. This is important because many people are unwilling to trust anyone else with their secret key--properly so. The Build service knows that the data it publishes was built on the build server! [opensuse-buildservice] How to I bring gstreamer into by build environment?

My package (gnome-subtitles) is failing in configure: checking for gstreamer... configure: error: Package requirements (gstreamer-0.10 >= 0.10) were not met: No package 'gstreamer-0.10' found My spec file has Requires: gstreamer010 >= 0.10 BuildRequires: gstreamer010 >= 0.10 because 'gtreamer > 0.10' wasn't working. I am using openSUSE_10.2 arch i586 Is there a list of package mappings e.g. gstreamer to gstreamer010 (or whatever). [opensuse-buildservice] Build packages for mono binaries

Hi, I've developed an application written in mono. I'm very newbie with this kind of stuff and I'm not very sure if this openSuse-buildservice can help me. I only want to create RPM and DEB packages for my binaries. I have a mono executable, one dll and a folder with xml languages. That's all. I want to build packages for OpenSuse, Ubuntu and others that resolves dependencies (Gtk-Sharp>2.10,...etc) and adds a link to my app in Applications menu in popular distributions. Nothing more. As I've said... I don't know if this service can help me or is oriented to other things. And if this is not the purpouse of this service... could you please orientate me in the proper way? Thanks. [opensuse-buildservice] Fedora-Updates

Hi! As you might know, new version of packages are being shipped in Fedora's updates repository, fedora-updates. An example for it is qt4. Version 4.2 is shipped with the distribution, but fedora-updates provides version 4.3.2. So I tried to build a package in the buildservice which requires Qt 4.3. But it does not build so I guess that the Fedora 7 distribution does not include updates which may be a security risk. Just imagine a library is being fixed, but all applications in the Build Service are compiled against the old library which has a security flaw in it. Are there plans to change this? Martin

I would like to say goodbye. During an discussion on the Packman mailing list about the security policy of the Packman repo (see http://schiffbauer.net/pipermail/packman/2007-November/thread.html ) I realized openSUSE isn't what I looking for. To be honest this has also something to do with the rude manner in which my questions were answered. I really liked openSUSE 10.3 and the roadmap that lays ahead. I wish you all good luck and thanks for helping me with all my questions. For now I'll restore my Gentoo image and I will concentrate on building a Gentoo distribution. @About The Dutch Mailing List Unfortunately this also means I can't continue my support for the Dutch mailing list. [opensuse-buildservice] Strange things happen with KDE:KDE4 repo

If you take a look at this screenshot: http://brcha.no-ip.org/Screenshots/screen20071103.png You will notice that in the repository there is only kde4-gwenview-3.95.1-1.2.x86_64.rpm and in metadata the version for the same package is 3.95.1-3.1. I thought that was a problem with my local metadata (so I updated it and it didn't help), but if you take a look here: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4/openSUSE_10.3/repodata/ You will notice that kde4-gwenview is also listed as 3.95.1-3.1 eventhough there is only 3.95.1-1.2 binary package. The same goes for the rest of the packages listed in my screenshot. Does anyone have a clue what happened? I'm trying to upload source code ma any time i receive NOVELL ERROR 500 Internal Server Error The origin web server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
