Hi, as I have a very slow connection at the moment, and wanted to try the local build introduced recently, I have patched my osc to use a local directory as a package source. Patch is attached. remarks: The files will be symlinked, if they are available locally, and downloaded otherwise. To copy the files to the cache even for local files, change the "copy_local" flag from the default of "0" to "1" (usefull for DVDs, which are not in the drive all the time). Hi, the latest osc package (0.7) in openSUSE:Tools has support for local builds. usage: 1. osc build <platform> <arch> <specfile> [--clean|--noinit] 2. BUILD_DIST=... osc build <specfile> [--clean|--noinit] where BUILD_DIST equals <platform>-<arch> When you call it for the first time, it will tell you how to add some configuration to ~/.oscrc. You may want to configure sudo with option NOPASSWD for /usr/bin/build and set su-wrapper to 'sudo' in .oscrc. Let me know how it works you. I'm the "official" RPM package maintainer of the Ganglia project (of course each distro have their own packages, but I maintain the "official" one, or at least the one which you can download at SourceForge). I have been talking to Marcus (darix) about setting up a group for these kind of packages, but more so for HPC related programs like parallel libraries, schedulers, etc. (I'm also involved with the OSCAR project). Is it possible to implement some tool so that we can search for packages on all repositories/projects hosted on the build service? [opensuse-buildservice] Request for integration into server:monitoring

Excuse me if this is not the correct way of making such a request. I noticed that there is a repository "sever:monitoring", and I have some packages on my home project (home:netmask) that I think could be interesting to integrate, such as "cacti-cactid" (poller daemon for Cacti) and "kismet" (wireless sniffer). Also, I plan to have "cheops-ng" built some time later. I would like to know if the maintainers of this repository could be interested in integrating those packages. [opensuse-buildservice] Project for FreeRADIUS

Hi Guys I am maintaining freeradius and freeradius-snapshot packages in home:peternixon at present but I would like to move these to a more appropriate place. The spec files currently lists "Productivity/Networking/Radius/Servers" as the package Group. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where it should go on the build service? Maybe we should create a networking:aaa repo as this could then include tacacs and diameter services as well... The only thing I am asking is to write on a file the changes that OpenSuSE is inserting into the original software that are trademarked, so other companies/comunities can work on top of that. OpenSuSE is great as a general Operating System, but not everybody needs a general purpose and multi-language Operating System. So, custom distributions are needed. Making the customization easier is very important when we have to decide on which linux we base our distro.
