Wrong path to %{name}.lang in %files section when use tarball-less source service

Hello! I am try to follow a 'Avoid tar balls' section of OBS documentation at https://openbuildservice.org/help/manuals/obs-user-guide/cha.obs.best-pract… and got an error when processing a lang package files: "[ 555s] Processing files: mypackage-lang-1.0.noarch [ 555s] error: Could not open %files file /home/abuild/rpmbuild/BUILD/home/abuild/rpmbuild/SOURCES/mypackage-lang-1.0.noarch/mypackage.lang: No such file or directory" Extra leading directories are present in the path: /home/abuild/rpmbuild/BUILD/home/abuild/rpmbuild/SOURCES/... I was looking for how %files -f works, but it looks like the basic rpm functionality, not a macro. Probably I can fix it by setting some variable manually before processing? My specfile looks like at guide: %if %{build_tar_ball} Source0: %{name}-%{version}.tar.bz2 %else Source0: _service %endif ... %prep %if %{build_tar_ball} %setup -q %else %setup -n %_sourcedir/%name-%version -T -D %endif _service: <services> <service name="obs_scm"> <param name="url">git://git.code.sf.net/p/mypackage/code</param> <param name="scm">git</param> <param name="versionformat">2.5+git%cd.%h</param> <param name="filename">mypackage</param> </service> <service mode="buildtime" name="set_version"/> </services> But when %define build_tar_ball 1 - the package build successful, %file -f path is correct. Looks like a bug... Or I am doing something wrong?

How to change my e-mail address for build.o.o

There are several threads asking this very same question. The latest I found was this one: https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/buildservice@lists.opensuse.org/th…. However I still do not find an answer to that question. What I tried: - Going to my profile on build.o.o and edit my profile: The e-mail address is not editable. - Change the user meta via `osc meta user -e letsfindaway`: Does not change anything. - Login to Micro Focus and try to edit my profile there: The e-mail address is not editable. So what is the way to change the e-mail address listed on my profile in build.o.o and used to send e-mail notifications? Thanks for any insights and pointers! Martin

CentOS 8 Stream builds unresolvable

Hi, For some time, CentOS 8 Stream builds are unresolvable because of the following error: unresolvable: nothing provides gcc = 8.5.0-18.el8 needed by gcc-c++, (got version 8.5.0-15.el8), nothing provides libgomp = 8.5.0-15.el8 needed by gcc, (got version 8.5.0-18.el8) Can someone please have a look at it? I doubt that it is a Centos problem and they have broken gcc packages in the distro for weeks... Thanks M.

[opensuse-buildservice] Add external source to a package?

Hello, I want to update the package ja2-stracciatella in the games repository to version 0.17.0. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:Kieltux:branches:games/ja2-str… The new version needs the library string_theory which is not available for openSUSE. The build process wants to download string_theory from github, because it is not found. Oracle Instant Client

Hi, I got notices for deletion requests against the oracle-instantclient packages in two OBS projects. This is a binary package from Oracle - there is no source, but it may be freely distributed: https://www.oracle.com/cz/database/technologies/faq-instant-client.html This package has been listed as blacklisted in OpenSUSE since 2010: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_application_blacklist#Packag… However, in the meantime, Oracle changed their redistribution policy to allow free redistribution of this package in binary format. I was not involved in the discussions, but back in 2010 my colleague got the oracle-instantclient binary packages accepted into OBS; he told me at the time that an exception was made (IIRC - in any cases the packages have been there for a long time despite being on the blacklist). My question to anyone who can help - can this package get accepted into the NonFree project and removed from the blacklist? If not, I believe that forbidding the oracle-instantclient package from OBS and OpenSUSE will adversely impact professionals that work with Oracle DBs - particularly due to the domino effect on dependent packages. There is no legal reason for this restriction - just a philosophical one from my understanding. Spam on the public buildservice instance

Hello, I've noticed that the user scottlawler[0] on the public instance has added a comment under one of my packages[1] promoting some sort of shitty mobile games website. Since there isn't any way of seeing all comments a user has made, I'm unable to see if this was a one-off or if the account has promoted his "serviced" under other packages too. Since there isn't any other way to report spam and other malicious behavior, I'm posting about it here. Safely convert an existing package into a Link / branched package?

Hi all, I think we had this topic before (2019, AFAICS), so maybe there is an update on this: How can I safely convert an existing package into a link / branch package? Without losing any changes on the "to be converted" package? Back then the only options were "osc branch -f" or manually creating the _link file. Is this still valid? How/where to ask for a GPG key renewal on a home project

Greetings, I have my home project[1], home project which has a GPG key that is near expiration (exp date: 2023-06-15) Will the renewal of the key be an automatic process where I don't have to do anything?
