Hello,
whether I add "Packager" in a spec file or not, rpmlint complains in both
cases. One time because of hardcoding. The other time because it is
missing.
Could this please be fixed?
What I would like to see is that the buildservice-email-address also used
in the GPG key of the repository is automatically copied into the spec
(like e.g. changelog or revision).
Is this possible (thought that would not fix the hardcoding error
message) or can the name+email be added in the build command directly?
Ciao

Hello,
I tried to compile the fox1.4 package for ubuntu
and wanted to add the sources directly from the debian
server http://packages.debian.org/etch/libfox1.4
Unfortunately when adding the files by URL to my
obs package (like
http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/f/fox1.4/fox1.4_1.4.34.orig.tar.gz)
something went wrong, because the build process fails:
dpkg-source: error: file fox1.4_1.4.34.orig.tar.gz has md5sum
724e66b89b5451d5032165e03ff5228d instead of expected
3424b9d3f9b71e1f53e9c3822de3b76c
I checked this by downloading the file once from the debian site
and once from the obs and they have different checksums indeed.
The sizes are the same thus it is probably not a matter of
automatic gz extraction.
The diff.gz of the same package has the same problem, that's why I think
there might be something wrong with the remote upload.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Is there a known workaround besides down-/uploading?
Regards,
Michael

In my project I have multiple packages that build from the same source
(tar.gz) file. Is there a way to reference the source file in another
subproject?
I don't want to import/upload a big tar.gz twice.

Hi,
I can remember asking some people in the ml and on IRC channel if we can
support:
- Ubuntu:8.10
- Fedora:10
in the public build service. I have tried out both, to test the freshly
included Download on Demand feature.
Results:
- Ubuntu:8.10 is working, with a modified meta prjconf. I can provide
that if needed
- Fedora:10 is not working. I put together a modified meta prjconf. I
can provide that if needed
Error log of Fedora:10 builds:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
----- building zlib.spec (user abuild)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
+ exec rpm -ba --define '_srcdefattr (-,root,root)' --define 'disturl
srcrep:6704b756bc258e856e39e93956c3fd42-zlib'
/root/rpmbuild/SOURCES/zlib.spec
-ba: unknown option
Is that due to the new rpm-4.6.0-0.rc1.7 used in Fedora:10?

Hi,
/usr/lib/rpm/brp-rpath says:
ERROR: RPATH "/usr/src/packages/BUILD/... on ... is not allowed
I think I understand why: just because the binary was linked with -rpath
RPMBUILDDIR/...
What is the correct solution of the problem? Should I patch the Makefile? Is
there way to change rpath in the linked binary?

Hi, I'm new to the build service and I still try to convince obs to
cooperate with me :-) - now I have a question about macros.
As a local user, I have a .rpmmacros file (including as a simple
sample "%packager Werner Flamme <werner.flamme(a)ufz.de>"). In message
<20081111184033.GB7174(a)suse.de> I read that macros have to be defined in
the project configuration file. Is this the file that is managed via
"osc meta prj -e"? If not, how do I modify the project configuration
file? Is it stored locally after an "osc co"?
Maybe this info is hidden somewhere in the Build Service web pages.
However, I did not find it, sorry.
Regards,
Werner

Hi @all!
I tried to connect yabsc with a local instance of obs. This instance runs plain http (no https).
yabsc only tries to connect via https and fails.

Looks like the job that publishes completed builds isn't functioning.
Can someone kick it please?
<rant>
This is really getting beyond a joke.
Would it be too much to ask for the OBS developers (perhaps one in
particular) to stop farting around with the live build service?
Alternatively, perhaps they could let people know when they're going
to "try something" or at least be around on IRC when it inevitably
doesn't work.
The build service is now a mandatory part of a package owner's work
day, so it would be nice if it was treated as such and not as some
personal, alpha-ready project. It is not acceptable that people's
time is being repeatedly wasted^ because a key tool (which rocks when
it works) is non-responsive.
If this continues I will begin escalating up the management chain.
^ because of course at first we just think it's slow... by the time
we realize it borked an hour has probably gone by

Hey guys,
I seem to be unable to build Mandriva 2009 packages, they all seem to
die with an error similar to below:
> cp: preserving times for XXX: Function not implemented
A real example is
> + cp -pr
> README /var/tmp/libtpproto-py-0.2.4-3.1-root/usr/share/doc/python-tp-netlib
> cp: preserving times for
> `/var/tmp/libtpproto-py-0.2.4-3.1-root/usr/share/doc/python-tp-netlib/README': Function not implemented
> error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.2569 (%doc)
Which can be found at
https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?arch=x86_64&package=libtp…
The same package builds fine under Mandriva 2008 system.
It also appears that the 0%{?mandriva_version} variable is not being set
as the "%if 0%{?mandriva_version} == 2009" test seems to fail. (In fact
just %if 0%{?mandriva_version} fails too).
Could this be fixed? Mandriva is the last distro I need to build
packages for.
Thanks for your help.

Good day!
I was remembering about this thread:
http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2008-03/msg00791.html
I think that could be great if we have these packages available on
openSuSE, I already have my own packages of Qmail, vpopmail and
Dovecot (with vpopmail auth) on my local build service.
Some days/weeks ago I tried to contact Adrian and Darix to point me
out and provide these packages on server:mail and to include the
vpopmail auth backend on the (already existent) Dovecot package, but
no answers got.
I can provide a patch for the current dovecot11 package to enable
vpopmail auth if necessary.
Can we do It?
I'm waiting since July for an SuSE Studio invite to build an e-mail
server appliance with It but seems that It will be a long wait.
Regards
